My thanks to the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at the show. Thanks too to my steward who kept the ring flowing.
Of course the biggest thanks to the exhibitors for bringing their lovely dogs for me to judge.
It was a interesting entry and my overall impression was good. I found four level bites and so that does need watching. Coats were in general good and most presentation was excellent. Temperaments were great a I would hope for from this variety.
My biggest concern was rear ends. There was a tendency for dogs to walk on their back hocks showing little to no drive from the rear and a particulary odd picture when viewed from the side was seen. Several otherwise pleasing exhibits were penalized for this. My reason being hounds have to move economically and with purpose to do their job. Some of these would struggle over a ploughed field!
Size varied and I did have to forgive in some cases. That being said I was more than please with my winners.

Dark wild boar with good head and correct bite. He needs to tighten in front otherwise his more positive movement secured his place. Well off for bone but a little slack in pastern at the moment.
2nd: HOPE Tendrow Makes His Mark
Similar type
to one although a different litter. Good coat, head and eye. Slightly over
angulated in the rear which he hasn’t matured enough to cope with yet.

Excellent very dark wild boar coat. Head just needs to break a little for perfection. Good feet, well ribbed and held his topline. Well rounded back end affording good hind movement. Did enough to win this and the next class but will benefit from more confidence in the future.
2nd: CHRISTIE Cloudside Xaiden at Decalleigh
Litter brother to 1st and made in a slightly larger mould. His head is more advanced than his brother’s at this stage. Longer cast than 1 and elbows need to tighten. Good forechest and correct bend of stifle.

2nd: MOUNTFORD Incordemeo Shadow
Just preferred the neck and shoulder
of 1st, but this dog has a more mature head. Longer cast that 1st.
Super coat in tip top condition. Well off for bone and held a good topline both
standing and moving.

CC & BOB, Although being a larger mould that I prefer, this dog could not be denied his accolade today. Very good rich red coat. Classic head, dark almond eye and correct complete scissor bite. Prominent forechest and well off for bone. He moved very well both up and back and in profile keeping a level topline and a compact picture. His 3rd CC I am told – Well done.
2nd: DAVIES Atahira Finale
Took the RCC today, another red with a well presented coat. Good feet and bone. Prominent forechest. Kept his topline and his tail set is correct. His movement wasn’t as tidy as 1st as he tended to be a bit loose and not as focused.

This red has a difficult coat but it was presented well. He topped an interesting class of mixed types and sizes. His size being correct, and although I would prefer a more masculine head, his overall correct height to length and conformation secured his place. I particularly liked his positive driving movement where he kept a good topline.
2nd: PHILLIPS Ch Tendrow Will to Succeed
Better coat than 1st on this dog of larger mould. He has a lovely head and eye but today was not as positive in his movement both front and rear.
3rd: HOWLETT & PHILLIPS Ch Tendrow Malibar JW
Lovely dog, lost on hind action.

Good coat on this 8 year old. Masculine head. Moved well up and back and in profile. Full of character which I appreciated.

BPB. BPIB, RCC Very aptly named a 6.5 month old sassy baby. Great wild boar coat, lovely size and correct height to length ratio. Pretty head and correct mouth. Almond dark eye. Moved very well considering her age, just needs to tighten slightly behind. My notes said “liked a lot!!
2nd: HEPNER THEODOROU & HEPNER CHAPMAN Clipperdown Good Grief
Less mature than the winner and just needs to body up and drop into herself. Great coat and she’s full of attitude!
Lovely head and eye and prominent prosternum. Good bend of stifle
Puppy Bitch (2)
1st: PHILLIPS Tendrow Amazing Grace
Litter to sister to minor puppy winner and like her in type. More mature than 2nd and her movement is more positive at this stage. Lovely coat right down to her tight feet. Pretty head, carrying puppy weight which I love to see, but losing topline slightly on the move because of this.
2nd: EYRE-BROOK Gentlegorse Dare to Believe
Lovely size and correct height to
length ratio. Good wild boar coat well presented. Correct head, good mouth,
dark almond eye. Hind movement needs to improve and tended to roach slightly on
the move.
Junior Bitch (2)
1st: ROWE Cloudside Xamira with Boloria
Interestingly that this is the third youngster from the same litter, all of whom are showing good promise. Mature girl who moved well and showed drive from behind. Good head and eye. Good feet and bone. Well-developed front, well ribbed. Pleasing backend.
2nd: BUXTON Cloudside Xena of Mereblake
Only as I write do I find this is
litter sister to 1st. This must have been quite some litter! Super
coat but not as mature as 1st although of similar make and type.
Lovely head. Kept her topline at all times. Not as positive in movement as
winner.
Post Graduate Bitch (7,3)
1st: PUGHE & FRASER Stanegate Sonja at Bystock
Although 2nd was more compact, the movement on this one was more precise and driving. Great coat beautifully prepared. Pleasing head and neck and should flowed well. Kept a level topline. Correct bend of stifle. Still very young and has more to come, I’m sure.
2nd: MATTHEWS Sonham Twice as Nice JW
I liked the size and height to length ratio on this more mature girl. Lots to like including her head and expression. Not quite the coat or rear movement of 1st
3rd: JONES Something Audacious Among Clanwillow
Another of pleasing type,
Limit Bitch (3)

This red girl won on her movement and her coat of great quality. Good head and dark pigment. Would prefer a shade more bone. Good height to length ratio. Prominent forechest and well angulated rear end.
2nd: BEAGRIE Feldhound Show the Way JW
Good height of length and correct size. Well balanced with a good cat. Just lost out to winner on rear action which was untidy today.

Loved pretty much everything about this super well-handled character. Dark wild boar coat presented to the hair. Great head, eye and expression. Lovely neck and shoulder. Correct from assembly. Just lost to the dog on BOB as not quite as positive in rear action.
