Thank you to the club for inviting me to judge at your show. I had an amazing day. I cannot thank my super-efficient steward Alexis enough.  Lovely to find a junior so on the ball and keen. She kept the ring running like clockwork, had everyone waiting lined up and managed to show her mini wires.

The quality of the hounds present was so pleasing, I was thrilled with all my winners and it’s nice to have very hard decisions.  Veterans were still super and powering on, not showing their age and puppies and juniors which are all so promising and full of quality and breed type. I did feel that the correct oval thorax with accompanying spring of rib was lacking in many however the variety is in good shape just now in my opinion.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (2)

1st: MOORE & DOWNES Ch Megline Aramis - BV

Darker male, very handsome, beautiful aquiline head, pleasing underjaw, good fill under eye, ears well set, almond eye which was dark. Elegant through neck, textbook front, plenty of forechest, long keel, balanced to rear with good strong second thigh. Topline and underline pleasing, strong over loin. Powered around the ring now showing his age. A true showman.

2nd: CARTER Romanchi Stargazer

Another handsome male. Head pleasing, good eye shape, would prefer a tiny bit more underjaw. Elegant through neck, well angulated shoulder but could be set further back. Keel was long enough. Well angulated rear, strong second thigh. Topline and underline correct. Pleasing on the move.

Minor Puppy Dog (1)

1st: DICKINSON Sonham Double Trouble at Dakotadax

Handsome, masculine youngster, pleasing head, ear, eye, pigment and mouth with strong underjaw. Neck of good length and set on from skull to neck was nice. Super shoulders, lengthy keel. With a better length to his croup, his pelvis set would be more correct giving him more power to his rear.

Puppy Dog (2)

1st: FARRINGTON Dollydash Defender of Faith – BPD

Very smart youngster who needs to get his head together, a little spooky. Classic head, good eye shape and pigment, strong underjaw. Super front assembly with matching length of upper arm. Lengthy keel, pleasing topline and underline.  Balanced to rear, showing drive on the move. Good coat.

2nd: DICKINSON Sonham Double Trouble at Dakotadax

Handsome, masculine youngster, pleasing head, ear, eye, pigment and mouth with strong underjaw. Neck of good length and set on from skull to neck was nice. Super shoulders, lengthy keel. With a better length to his croup, his pelvis set would be more correct giving him more power to his rear.

Junior Dog (6,1)

1st: CARRUTHERS Stanegate Salvador – CC

Masculine male, quality head, correct eye shape, pigment, ear set, eye colour, plenty fill below eye and strong underjaw. Set on from skull to neck was super. Clean through throat. Textbook shoulders with matching balanced rear. Plenty of bone. Good feet. Long keel and ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. Topline and underline correct. Super coat. Beautiful on the move, showing reach and drive in all directions. Pleasure to award him the CC which I believe is his third, congratulations.

2nd: RUSSELL & HUTCHINGS Collidach Russell Leeves

Excellent head, super pigment, good underjaw, I personally prefer this head to 1st. Good shoulder angulation, plenty of bone, good long keel, ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. Prefer a shorter second thigh for better rear movement and balance. Good coat.

3rd: FARRINGTON Dollydash Defender of Faith

Yearling Dog (2)

1st: ADAMS Dawn Ellesophia Fly Me to the Moon JW

Good head, eye, ear, underjaw and pigment. Neck strong and flowing into correctly angulated shoulders which were set well back. Prominent prosternum, good length of keel, ribbing carried well back. Topline and underline pleasing. Produced and presented to perfection, best coat of the day, super on the move in all directions.

2nd: WHITTAKER Kissdach Freddie Mercury

Beautiful aquiline head, good eye shape, pleasing pigment. Nice front but would prefer a slightly longer upper arm to balance shoulders. Length of keel sufficient. Strong over loin. Rear angulation pleasing, second thigh developing. Very raw and at an awkward stage at the moment but should blossom and balance out soon enough.

Novice Dog (1)

1st: RUSSELL & HUTCHINGS Collidach Russell Leeves

Excellent head, super pigment, good underjaw. Good shoulder angulation, plenty of bone, good long keel, ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. Prefer a shorter second thigh for better rear movement and balance. Good coat.

Post Graduate Dog (2)

1st: AKEHURST Boloria All Spice

Masculine head but in no way coarse or overdone, dark eye, strong underjaw, good expression. Elegant through neck, shoulders well angulated. Long keel, ribs carried well back. Well angulated rear, good width of second thigh. Topline and underline pleasing. In good coat. Plenty of bone and substance. Would have liked to see a little more impulsion and presence on the move but was true in all directions. Considered for RCC.

2nd: HORNE Salixian Moroccan Mint

Smart male, good head, would prefer a little more fill under eye. Strong neck, pleasing angulation front and rear. Nice width of second thigh. Plenty ground clearance with good height to length ratio. He is a little chunky just now which spoils his overall balance when stacked, making him appear quite stuffy.

Limit Dog (6,1)

1st: ORD & AINSLEY Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee JW – RCC

Strong male with a classic head, good eye shape and colour, strong underjaw. Well angulated shoulders, lengthy keel, ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. Nicely angulated rear with good width of second thigh. Plenty of bone and substance, good feet, topline and underline correct. Super on the move in all directions. Beautiful breed type. In good coat. Pleasure to award him the RCC.

2nd: HUNT Weinacht Larch at Drakkina JW

Lovely head, masculine and quality. Good fill under eye, ear set pleasing. Balanced angulation front and rear, good width of second thigh. Lengthy keel and ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. Lacked a little presence and oomph on the move but all very true and pleasing.

3rd: MOUNTFORD Incordemeo Beetle About

Open Dog (2)

1st: PRICE & HUTCHINGS Collidach Percy Cute at Samlane

Quality head, pleasing dark eyes of good shape, dark pigment, strong underjaw. Clean through throat, plenty of keel, ribbing carried well back, strong over loin. Balanced front and rear, strong second thigh. Lovely breed type. Correct topline and underline. Beautifully presented in harsh tight coat.

2nd: CHRISTIE Tannahill Bergen at Decalleigh

Very quality and masculine head, good fill under eye, nicely set ears, strong underjaw. Clean through throat. Quite upright in shoulder, prefer lay back to be much further back as creates an untidy topline. Plenty of bone. Prefer a longer keel and ribbing. Movement going away was pleasing. Presented in good harsh coat. Handled well.

Champion Dog (1)

1st: CARRUTHERS Ch Aikton Alexander at Stanegate

A fairly young masculine hound. Classic head, good eye shape and colour, plenty fill, strong underjaw. Textbook front and rear, good width of second thigh. Smart topline and underline. Plenty of keel, ribbing carried well back. Strong loin. Moved true and easy in all directions. Very smart hound, presented in super coat.

Minor Puppy Bitch (1)

1st: MATTHEWS Sonham Twice as Nice

A very attractive bitch. Pretty head but in no way weak, lovely eye colour, pigment and underjaw. Nice set on from back of skull to neck. Correctly angulated front and rear. Keel length was very acceptable, ribbing well back. Topline and underline pleasing. Plenty of bone. Super feet. She has the most beautiful expression. Presented in good harsh coat. Moved well. A nice little youngster.

Puppy Bitch (3)

1st: ELDRED & DICKINSON Dakotadax Check Mate BPB & BP

Excellent head, good eye shape, colour and pigment, decent underjaw.  Front was very pleasing, prominent prosternum, good length of keel, ribbing well back. Balanced rear angulation with strong second thigh. Topline and underline correct. Strong over loin. The rear movement on this youngster going away was one of the best today, lovely in profile and coming also. Super type.

2nd: MATTHEWS Sonham Twice as Nic

A very attractive bitch. Pretty head but in no way weak, lovely eye colour, pigment and underjaw. Nice set on from back of skull to neck. Correctly angulated front and rear. Keel length was very acceptable, ribbing well back. Topline and underline pleasing. Plenty of bone. Super feet. She has the most beautiful expression. Presented in good harsh coat. Moved well. A nice little youngster.

3rd: HUNT Drakkina Wirenth

Junior Bitch (10,1)

This was a hard class as they were all at very awkward stages. Shoulders were all over the place, rear movement wasn’t true, lots with puppy fat, heads at unpleasant stages and toplines and spookiness was showing, flat feet, ears everywhere. All need time to grow up and blossom.  The joys of junior girls!

1st: DEAN & MOORE Ulla Von Huberhorn with Dierfiur (Imp Pol)

A smart bitch. Pleasing head, eye, ear, underjaw. Shoulders settling nicely, rear was strong with good width of second thigh. Feet were good. Long keel, ribbing carried well back. Topline a little loose just now, but will settle. Good coat and super on the move, especially going away. Nice breed type.

2nd: GRAHAM Boloria Wild Spice

Another smart little hound. Super head, feminine and balanced with good fill under eye. Well angulated shoulders which were back and settled nicely. Long enough keel, ribbing well back. Pleasing rear with good strong second thigh. Topline a little loose but again will strengthen and settle. Nice width across pelvis. Super on the move. 1st just had the edge, presence and steadiness today. Lovely breed type and presented in good coat.

3rd: ROWE Boloria Sugar N'Spice

Yearling Bitch (3)

1st: GRAHAM Boloria Wild Spice

2nd: BEAGRIE Ellesophia Light the Way to Feldhund JW

Beautiful head, correct eye shape, colour and pigment, pleasing underjaw and ear set. Lovely length of neck, shoulders correctly angulated but could be further back. Pleasing length of keel, ribbing carried well back. Correct topline and underline. Well angulated rear with decent width of second thigh. Moved super in profile, coming and going.  Preferred the shoulder placement of 1st.

3rd: MOUNTFORD Incordemeo Flashy Fox

Novice Bitch (2)

1st: HUTCHINGS Collidach Raynee Day

Beautiful red bitch, super head, eye shape and black pigment, ear set pleasing.  Shoulder assembly was good with a balanced rear with super width of second thigh. Keel long and ribbing well back. Slightly too long in loin for me but was still strong. Moved well in all directions.

2nd: HOWE Bramalodge French Kiss

Head was okay but could benefit from fill under eye and furnishings. Set on from back of skull to neck was pleasing. Shoulders and rear very balanced, decent width of second thigh. Keel long, rubbing well back but a little short in body for me. Movement was true but 1st had a little more presence and drive.

Post Graduate Bitch (4)

1st: MOUNTFORD Incordemeo My Story

Classic head, pleasing eye shape and colour. Clean through throat. Shoulders were well set and of good angulation, matching rear with decent width of second thigh. Pleasing topline and underline. Well off for bone. Padded feet. Moved well in all directions showing reach and drive. Nicely balanced and good breed type.

2nd: SIMPSON Jollylong Joshua's Gem

Lovely type, super head, dark pigment and nicely set ears. Neck strong. Nicely angulated and balanced front and rear, decent width of second thigh. Very nice on the move but 1st had a little more drive and presence. Having had reds, I understand the coat situation which is either lovely or ready to blow and sadly this bitch was ready to blow. Very nice hound though.

3rd: WILSON Stanegate Katie Brown at Willowash

Limit Bitch (4)

1st: MOORE Derochaise Black Cherry Cloudside

Another super type. Beautiful aquiline head, darkest eyes and pigment, good ear set. Clean through throat, nice neck, very balanced and well angulated shoulders and rear, good width of second thigh. Topline and underline correct, keel long, ribbing carried well back. Could have been stacked better with her legs less stretched in order not to disturb her topline and overall balance. Moved well in all directions showing power, reach, drive and presence.

2nd: HOWE Bramalodge Billie Jean

Classic head with good almond shaped eyes and colour, pigment correct and decent underjaw. A little heavy in front for me, good rear with strong second thigh. Keel long enough. Ribbing carried well back. Topline a little loose on the move. Very nice breed type and moved well.

3rd:  MOUNTFORD Tendrow Special Creation

Open Bitch (6,2)

Super class, all I am sure will change places at other times, it was getting VERY warm by this point and some of the bitches were starting to feel it.

1st: NORTH-ROW & MARTIN Ir Ch Sail on Sailor to Full Circle (IKC) – RCC

Red girl, beautiful head, almond eye which was dark, correct pigment. Elegant through neck and clean through throat. Shoulders textbook and matching balanced rear. Topline and underline spot on. Coat was in great order, tight and harsh with undercoat. Plenty of bone and substance and still elegant. Lovely height to length ratio. Super on the move showing great reach and drive. True coming and going. Shown in good hard condition. Could have taken her home. Pleasure to award her the RCC, considered for CC.

2nd: ROWE Boloria Trick or Treat JW

Another nice type. Super head, eye shape, pigment. Good fill under eye. Shoulders well angulated but would prefer them to be set back more. Good length of keel, ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. Strong rear which was well angulated. Topline and underline very correct, super on the move in all directions but I felt the heat was making her a little laboured which was a real shame.

3rd: PHILLIPS & HOWLETT Ch Tendrow Makes the Right Turn

Champion Bitch (5,1)

1st: HUTCHINGS Ch Collidach Brook Ling – CC & BOB

Super red girl. Beautiful head, darkest eyes giving her a wonderful expression. Pigment dark and correct. Mouth correct and underjaw strong. Elegant through neck, shoulders textbook and matching rear with good width of second thigh. Plenty of prosternum, keel and ribbing carried well back. Strong over loin. In total balance stacked and on the move. Fabulous coat which was harsh, tight and correct. Good padded feet and well off for bone. It was a pleasure to award her the CC and when it came to BOB she got better and better on the move.

2nd: MOORE & DOWNES Ch Megline Bohemian Rhapsody (Imp Rom)

Another quality bitch. Super head, eye shape and colour, pigment and ear set. Plenty of fill under eye. Clean through throat and elegant set on from back of skull to neck. Shoulders and rear spot on. Good length of keel, ribbing carried well back. Topline and underline correct. Coat was super. Very balanced and moved with real purpose and drive, true coming and going. Started to flag slightly on the final move. Real smart girl!
