I must admit to being staggered by the amount of poor, incorrect dentition present in the very large entry of 98/116 S/Ws ..Missing incisors top and bottom, narrow jaws, twisted jaws, are not acceptable. I probably missed a few extra with missing bottom teeth, as until I saw what a problem it was ..I had only started to check bite and side canine placements. Unless checked this will only get worse. Next problem I spotted in many, was the narrow long heads with huge ears, & weak muzzles. The correct conical shaped heads, gently narrowing to a strong muzzle, were not very prevalent. The short upper arms, and high placed chest bones were also untypical, and whilst the longer legs can give a longer profile stride, the dachshund is a hunting earth dog, and longer upper arms are much more serviceable to cope with underground work. Rant over, as the wonderful temperaments without exception cheered me up, Most all in super hard weatherproof coats, excellent pigment, lots with the compact body, and just moderately long ,not overlong in back to protect their health. Perfect tails with not one kink as well. A few still much too big,

but encouraged that my BOB has sired a lot of correct sized Wires, pleased to find out how many class winners were by him, and both bitch green card winners.

Special Beginner Dog (2)
1st: KILBY Fenwires Highland Dancer Best Sp Beginners.. Lovely for size and type, beautiful head & eyes, ears set well up on skull. Neat front, slightly short in ribbing. Excellent topline and tail.. good behind too!
1st: HORNE Salixian Moroccan Mint Pleasing head and expression.. Super hard coat and presented well. Feet rather too flat, deep chest, OK in topline and he moved well all round.

Minor Puppy Dog (5)
1st: JACKSONS Elderkine Special Brew B Puppy
sired by Ch C. Just a Kiss with H as were many other winners’ Nice size and proportions. Such a super temperament, good front and forechest, nicely bodied for age, Coat still a bit in-between. Purposeful mover for a baby.
2nd: KILBY Fenwires Highland Dancer half brother to above
3rd: WHARTON Elmore James Greyhayne

Puppy Dog (5)
1st: WHARTON Szymon Majewski Vh Ruwielse Land to Greyhayne (Imp NLD) Liked his head with conical skull, high set ears. A little short of neck, and upper arm could be longer. Really top class body, and ribbing carried well back. Neat rear with well set tail. Good mover..
2nd: TURNER Hototo Rocket Man another by Just a Kiss I see. Just a bit looser all through, Topline needs to steady, and he needs to drop a little more behind.. probably at an in-between stage of growth. Coat so well presented.
3rd: RUSSELL Collidach Russell Leeves

Junior Dog (6)
1st: MAES-JONES & BATES Derochaise Blue Danube sired by Vice Versa & brother to the B CC Nicely balanced body. Correct topline with a slight arch and it flows well into croup. Neat strong rear. Good thick coat. Pleased me for his head shape and eye set. He needs a longer neck and a touch more length to upper arm.
2nd: MEASE Barmebak Quill sire is Just a Kiss again. Very long in back and hopefully he will fill up in middle piece. Super forechest with breast bone set fairly low. Ribs Ok just a long loin . Fair mover.
3rd: HASTINGS Lieblings Says Simon (AI)

Novice Dog (3)
1st: MASONS Bramalodge Bet on the Blues Head of good shape and width, but light eyes detract from expression, fairly good front, but neck on the short side. Good body which has super proportions of height to length ratio. Neat quarters and he moved true all round.
2nd: RUSSELL Collidach Russell Leeves Rangy puppy, mouth needs to improve to place higher. Hope time sorts it out.

Post Graduate Dog (5)

1st: MOUNTFORD Incordemeo Beetle About. Smart and has an air of quality about him. Gorgeous head and muzzle. Excellent neck length, and carriage. Good front, and he keeps his outline moving. He just needs to body up in middle piece, but looks to me like a future star.
2nd: SANDERS Just Lenny's Choc Chip by Knottsrose Solid boy, super for body and ribbing where I admit he scored over the first dog. Nice enough right through but not the outstanding front of winner. Neat precise mover.
3rd: APPS Calicoe Just Me

Limit Dog (8)
1st: DAVIES Atahira Ruffian R CC Nicely made quality dog, masculine and moving with a good long stride. Well made body, with such an excellent topline and he is outstanding in rear. Head would look more appealing trimmed better, he looks so hollow under the eyes it detracts from that jolly wire expression. An easy R CC today, and should make up I would think with luck.
2nd: ORD & AINSLEY Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee JW Also appealed for generally good build and temperament. Just a bit square over croup & quarters. Excellent depth to height of legs ratio. Superb coat and muscular condition, which I admired.
3rd: MAES-JONES & BATES Derochaise Manhatton

Open Dog (8)
1st: PHILLIPS Ch Royal Pepper's Vice Versa (Imp Fin) CC BOB Looked well within the correct size and weight range. He is well balanced in body & angulation both ends, Always standing four square when I glanced at him, Front legs well under the deepest part of the chest, but he was not too low in stance. An excellent true mover. He stood out for me for correct type and high quality .
2nd: CARRUTHERS Ch Aikton Alexander at Stanegate. Solid, well put together in immaculate coat and muscle condition. Great mover too. He is just too big all round for me and he would struggle going underground I imagine.
3rd: SMITH Salixian Eau Rouge Veteran Dog (2)
1st: LANGRIDGE Tendrow Elberta ShCM Happy go lucky boy! Full of himself. Sadly out of coat on the day. Moved with verve, keeping a firm backline.

Special Beginner Bitch (7)

1st: ELLIS Vixendax Venus Starlight sired by the BOB Vice Versa again..Pleasing size and overall proportions. Really top class front and forechest. Body deep enough, with legs set well back under the chest, supporting the whole front. Ok behind, handler needs to jolly her up a bit more, and talk to her, she just went a bit drippy.
2nd: WALLER Lady in Roseyred Not quite so balanced as winner. Reasonable front, deep enough..lovely temperament.. well handled
3rd: OAKLEY Lallybrook Hester

Minor Puppy Bitch (5)

1st: ELLIS Vixendax Venus Starlight B Bitch Puppy.
2nd: ROBINSON & HOWLETT Boloria Nice and Naughty..half sister to winner, Missing incisors as had third and 4th. Placed them as I thought on the day. Good body, moved out nicely, lovely coat coming.
3rd: GRAHAM Boloria Wild Spice

Puppy Bitch (6)

1st: PUGHE & FRASER Bystock Sea Nymph I liked her outline standing and she kept it moving. She covers plenty of ground going round. Her leg hair is soft, and ribs can still spring further. Really true and decisive moving.
2nd: MATTHEWS Stanegate Senorita with Sonham Fat baby rolling in middle piece, when she strengthens up and gets more width through the quarters I’m sure she will do well. Loved her head and temperament.
3rd: ROWE Boloria Sugar'N Spice

Junior Bitch (11)

1st: MOORE Derochaise Black Cherry Cloudisde CC sire was the BOB Vice Versa Really exciting class to judge,, and plenty of choice for the places . The CC winner came from this class, and I can expect to see the first three at least gaining titles in time. The winner stands out for her beautiful outline, construction and balance. I thought her head and expression particularly appealing. Good coat and great on the go. 2nd: PARROTT Derochaise Blue Angel at Marondera sister to above.. Also very good quality with an excellent front, and body proportions. Really firm back, too much tail hair detracts a bit, but easily fixed by grooming. Super bone, and lovely big feet. sound too.
3rd: PHILLIPS Tendrow What I Am I Am

Novice Bitch (4)

1st: SMITH Salixian Rose Sencha sire Vice Versa A good competitive class. Winner pleasing to go over, sound front and rear. Also true moving both ways and has a long stride. Excellent coat texture, well boned legs and tidy feet. She had a tendency to roach up standing but levelled out on the move. Nice to see the slight arch to her topline. I’m sure she will relax more with practice.
2nd: ROWE Boloria Sugar'N Spice Just rather in-between at present, and needs time. I liked her height to length proportions excellent coat, well presented. Maybe she is a little long in second thighs.
3rd: WALLER Lady in Roseyred

Post Graduate Bitch (6)

1st: MATTHEWS Sonham Saucy Saffron, sired by 2rd Open. Really good bitch, I thought she could lose a few pounds to her advantage, but she does keep herself together well moving, and topline is steady. Pleasing head and pigment, in fact the whole entry bar a couple had super dark pigment. Excellent coat texture, but a bit short of coat, on the day.
2nd: PHILLIPS Tendrow I Am What I Am Loved her size and overall quality. Sadly very out of coat . Good body and ribbing. Bit of a droopy underline on the day too. Sound free and active mover.
3rd: MOUNTFORD Incordemeo My Story

Limit Bitch (12)

1st: HOWLETT & PHILLIPS Tendrow Makes the Right Turn JW R CC her sire was BOB Smart, sound & very well put together. Stands on good legs and large, tight bunched feet. Excellent firm topline, Good powerful rear, OK in head, handled to get the best out of her too!
2nd: PHILLIPS Tendrow Turns Over the Page sister to above. Elegant in profile, especially on the go around. Just a mite long in loin which separated her from her sister. Excellent coat for her colour, Strong bone. Close up.
3rd: SMITH Windfalls Coco Noire at Salixian (Imp USA)

Open Bitch (5)

1st: PHILLIPS Tendrow Wired To Succeed sired by Vice Versa Lovely class! Some missing teeth again which might explain some of the lower placings. Winner had a perfect mouth though! Good front, forechest and slope to upper arm. Just slightly long cast perhaps. Excellent strong quarters and a good jacket.
2nd: HUTCHINGS Ch Collidach Brook Ling another by Just a Kiss. Stands and moves with great aplomb, superb temperament, must be a joy to live with. Well made and moving well. Reds are not the easiest coats to deal with, but hers is good texture. True and precise moving. Must mention the third placed, I absolutely love her, but sadly on the day she was carrying too much weight.. a pity as she would make a very worthy champion and she is a great favourite of mine.
3rd: HUTCHINGS Tendrow I Am the One from Collidach JW

Veteran Bitch (2)

1st: PHILLIPS Ch Tendrow A Page in Time B Veteran Two super old ladies both in sparkling form and coat, so difficult to separate. Topline just a wee bit steadier on the winner, I loved them both!. 2nd: HASTINGS Lesdandnic Sleepytime ShCM A coat to die for! Super head and expression, moved out well all round, A credit to her owner indeed.
