Class 174 VB NO ENTRIES
Many thanks to the exhibitors for such a good entry of 60 with very few absentees. Bucking a trend at Leeds on a Friday.  I also thank those who sent apologies who could not attend for various reasons.  Over the last few years I have seen this variety grow in numbers and in overall quality.  It must be said that the Standard Wires are no longer the poor relations! I found quality throughout the classes and some close calls had to be made.  I was more than happy with all my winners. Some, however, may have been disappointed but honestly to win a RCC at this level is nothing to be sniffed at. Who knows in the future this award may carry more significance!

PD (2,1a)  1 Gibson, Allfreys London Look.  Only a baby but does have plenty to admire all through. Handsome in head with a good eye and expression. Sufficient in neck with a correct front assembly.  Plenty in rib at this stage with a correct top line and tail set.  His rear is well angulated with strong hocks. Once into his stride he displayed parallel movement on the out and back.  Coat texture is correct. Should go onto more success. BPD.

JD (8) 1 McCalmont, Silvae Kinsman heading as strong junior dog class. I can't really say that I have noticed this young dog before but what a prospect.  His head qualities are excellent with correct balance with plenty in fore face with good dentition. He excels in eye and expression finished off with neat well placed ears. Plenty in neck which flows into a well angulated front assembly.  He is well ribbed with a cast iron top line and good underline.  His bone has quality with excellent feet.  On the stack he has such a pleasing outline.  On the move he displayed excellent rear drive and forward reach holding his outline on the go around.  His coat texture is spot on.  As yet still not at full maturity, in time this will come and in my opinion he should be judged on his qualities.  Should reach the upper house sooner than later.  Today pleased to award him his first CC! 2 Norman, Silvae Klansman. Turns out to be litter brother to the winner, it's called type judging!  This young dog has many of the qualities of his brother.  Head, eye and expression, neck and top line correct with a well angulated rear. Bone and feet good with an excellent jacket. Another that moved out well. Did consider him for the RCC. 3 Moore, Cloudside Picasso.  No doubt this exhibit has quality especially in head, eye and expression.  Good strength in neck with a well filled fore chest.  Plenty in rib with good top line. He stands on quality bone with compact feet.  Presented in harsh jacket.

PGD (5)1 Vine, Cishelvine Caught Out.  Won this class on his overall breed type.  Scores with his masculine head which has correct balance with strength in foreface with good dentition. Good in eye and expression.  Sufficient in neck with plenty of rib. He stands on good bone with neat feet. Whilst going away he displays good rear drive. Does however tend to return a bit wide in front; nevertheless was presented in good order and thoroughly deserved this class. 2 Arthus, Hototo's Bark at the Moon.  Another exhibit that has a correct head with a good eye and expression.  Plenty in neck with good ribbing.  Bone and feet are correct.  Whilst on the out and back he was ok but lost his outline on the go around. Presented in good order. 3 MacKenzie, Sweethoundz Mr Tickle.

LD (4,2a) 1 Wharton & Pughe, Derochaise Black Tarquin. This exhibit has obvious quality in most departments and is not over done in any way being of a pleasing size.  His head qualities are good with a pleasing eye and intelligent expression.  Plenty in neck with an ok front assembly.  Ribbing is good with a solid top line. He is well angulated in his rear with firm hocks. His bone is of good quality with neat compact feet. One of only a handful today that was presented in good muscle tone. Used himself to good advantage on the out and back displaying good reach and drive.  Presented in good order. I'm sure with normal luck he will wear his crown. Today, however, had to settle for the RCC. Absolutely no disgrace in that! 2 Vine, Derochaise Justified for Cishelvine.  Litter brother to 'Tarquin' and he has many of his brothers attributes which are good in head, eye and expression.  General outline is correct.  Quality bone with neat feet.  Jacket was presented in good order, just not as positive on the move.

OD (3) 1 Coverley, Ch Aventine Jamacia Inn.  A very honest individual and a worthy 'Ch'. Masculine in head which is pleasing with correct proportions.  Keen in eye which gives off an intelligent expression. Good in fore chest with plenty in rib. Top line is level which leads to a well-muscled rear.  He stands on strong bone with compact feet.  Presented in good order. 2 Vine, Baxter, Cishelvine Red Admiral. Another exhibit that has plenty to admire but is different in type to the winner. Masculine in head which has correct proportions with excellent dentition. Good in eye and expression. Plenty in neck with good ribbing. Firm in top line which leads to a well angulated rear.  Bone and feet are correct   He moved out with true purpose on the out and back. Would not be surprised to see this exhibit one day wear his crown! 3 Paskins, Tendrow Replays the Red Guy at Kindeace, completing a trio of honest exhibits.

VD (1) 1 Hastings, Lesandnic Sublimity. Has plenty to admire all through.  Masculine proportions in head with a keen eye and expression.  Correct in fore chest with plenty in ribbing holding a firm top line which leads to a well angulated rear. Bone and feet are correct and he moved out with true attitude.

PB (10) Excellent class with many showing such promise for the future. 1 Warren, Wagsford Hester. No Doubting this young lady smacks of quality. Instant attraction to her. She scores in head which is feminine and so well balanced. Correct in eye and expression. Good in neck which flows into a clean front assembly.  She has plenty in rib with a good top line and tail set finished off with a well angulated rear.  Coat texture is ok.  Once she settled she displayed good reach and drive whilst holding her outline on the go around.  She fended off some useful youngster to win this class.  Should go on to bigger and better things.  Pleased to award her Best Puppy in Breed but disappointed to witness her not competing in the Puppy Group! 2 Arthurs, Tendrow I Am Legend.  Another exhibit that has good overall quality with plenty to admire.  Feminine in head with correct proportions.  Dark in eye which gives off a lovely expression. Plenty in neck with a prominent fore chest.  Good in rib and top line which leads to a well angulated rear. Her bone has good quality with neat compact feet.  Her jacket is of correct texture. She put up a good performance on the move displaying accurate foot falls on the out and back and held her outline on the go around.  Unlucky to run into the winner today but I'm sure will change places on other days! 3 Rowe, Boloria's Trick or Treat.  Yet another with plenty to admire all through and most remarks apply here as to those in front; she is sound and was well presented. No surprise to see placings change on another day. Completing a trio of quality girls!

JB (7) Yet another class with quality to spare, all bodes well for the future and I'm sure places will change as the season progresses. 1 Paterson, Paterson Ambiesque Aperitif.  Such an eye catching individual of above average merit. Quality in head which is feminine and so well balanced. Dark in eye which gives off a pleasing expression. Neat well placed ears, excellent in neck which flows into a clean front assembly.  Plenty of depth in rib which is carried well back to a firm loin. Top line rock solid which leads to a well angulated rear. She stands on quality bone with neat compact feet. She gives off such a pleasing outline on the stack.  On the move she displayed free flowing strides on the out and back and held her outline on the go around at all times.  Coat texture is spot on and was presented in good all round order.  Pleased to award her the CC today.  I can't see why many more would not follow.  It was her enthusiasm and will to complete that tipped the balance in her favour for BoB.  Still putting in a good performance in the strong Hound Group.  Good luck for the future! 2 Warren, Wagsford Jennifer.  No denying this young lady has plenty to admire. Scored in head which is balanced with a good eye and expression.  Plenty in neck with adequate fore chest.  Her ribbing is good which leads to a firm loin.  Top line and tail set are correct.  Her bone is quality and feet are ok. Today I felt her jacket in places was a little soft.  It's only a minor thing, she did however move out with purpose. Very close up to the winner and in time I'm sure will gain that all important crowning jewel! 3 Seath, Hella's Ozlem at Sunsog (imp Nor).  Yet another exhibit that has plenty to admire all through being slightly different in type to the first two.  Lovely in head, eye and expression.  Plenty in neck and forechest.  She is well ribbed with a firm top line and correct tail set finished off with a well angulated rear.  Her bone is of good quality with excellent feet. Moved out with true purpose and was presented in good jacket.  No disgrace here completing a trio of quality exhibits.

PGB (4) 1 Clayton-Smith, Boloria's April Fool. Exhibit of merit. Feminine in head which has correct proportions.  Good in eye which gives off a keen expression. Plenty in neck with a prominent forechest.  Ribbing is carried well back which leads to a firm loin. Top line and tail set is correct which leads to a decent rear.  Bone and feet are good all topped off with a crisp jacket. Whilst she moved out technically correct I just wished she would put more in but did enough to win this class. 2 Rowe, Boloria's Tiger Lily.  Exhibit with plenty to admire. Feminine in head with a good eye and expression.  Plenty in neck with a well filled forechest. Good in rib and body with a firm top line.  Presented in good order and moved out ok. 3 MacKenzie, Sweet Houndz Miss Giggles.

LB (9) 1 Moore, Cloudside Oops a Daisy. All quality exhibit with so much to admire. Feminine in head qualities which has correct balance. Excellent in eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a well-developed forechest.  Good in rib with a correct top line.  She is forward in body with a firm loin.  Her rear is well muscled and leads to a strong parallel hocks.  Moved out soundly both ways holding an eye catching outline on the go around.  Coat texture is good.  I'm confident her day will come. 2 Howlett, Prowting, Boloria's Arabella.  Feminine all through with correct proportions in head. Good in eye with a gentle expression. Plenty in neck with good overall body outline.  Ribs and top line are correct and she stands on quality bone with compact feet.  Slightly different in type to the winner but deserved her place. 3 Dean, Brontwillow Grace Darling completing a trio of quality exhibits. OB (4) 1 McCalmont, Ch Silvae Solo.  So much has been written about this exhibit and I can only echo all that has been said.  I am a big fan of this exhibit and I feel she should be a template for aspiring Dachshund Judges. I don't need to go on about her attributes they are all there for you to see.  Today she was beaten for the CC by a younger model who for me was just giving that little bit extra when asked.  Absolutely no disgrace here to take the RCC I'm sure she will continue to collect the more major awards. Thank you for bringing her! 2 McPherson, Paterson, Brumberhill Bellissima. Yet again another top draw exhibit. Feminine in heads which has correct proportions. Dark in eye which in turn gives off a pleasing expression. Plenty in neck with a good front assembly. Body proportions are good with a firm top line which leads to a well angulated rear finished off with strong parallel hocks.  She is sound on the out and back and held a pleasing outline on the go around. Presented in excellent jacket. Another that should wear her crown in due course. 3 Rowe, Boloria's Naughty But Nice.
