Class 210 VB NO ENTRIES

It was a great pleasure to judge W/h Dachshunds at this beautiful show. My steward was top notch & helpful. Thanks to the exhibitors for a super group of hounds that without exception have the desired temperament. Coats were good & well presented.

I did not find any incorrect bites or teeth & these were mostly clean.

PD (2) 1 Bellamy’s Veenen Onyx Resetin Gold at Garjay, 7 months old dark brindle having a whale of a time. Showing all the essentials. Nice head, promising forechest, level topline, strong quarters, good coat. Needs time to be more settled but these were both delightful babies; 2 Herrod’s Kindeace Wish You Were Here, both the handler & dog were new to this game but the handler made valiant attempts to get the best out of this puppy. He is more settled on the stand than 1 & I was able to see a very nice baby that has a correct head, good eye, level topline & he moves well when he goes. JD (3) 1 Wharton’s Derochaise Black Tarquin, dark brindle, well coated & presented. A balanced hound with a good shoulder & neck, topline & underline correct, good sweep to loin. His hindquarters are strong & he uses them well to move round the ring. RCC; 2 Baldwin’s Aventine Scotts Bluff, correct structure on this hound. He has a pleasing head & expression, correct forechest & spring of rib. Hindquarters are well used. Not quite the presentation of 1; 3 K Wish You Were Here. BD (3) A. PGB (3,1a) 1 Smith’s Jethard Two To Tango at Salixian, lovely pin wire red, extrovert nature. Nicely built with good angles but balanced. Moved well assisted by good quarters. Fabulous head expression; 2 Hickie’s Ambiesque Alto, difficult to assess this boy as both he & his handler are beginners but she tried to get the best out of him & I caught glimpses of a very nice hound. Promising. LD (5,2) 1 Warren’s Wagsford Lincoln, very smart, well fronted hound, masculine. He moved well on correct quarters & showed well; 2 Weatherer’s Salixian Levante via Itsuitzuz, not quite the forechest of 1. He has a good topline & underline & he is a smaller hound but he is balanced & moved well; 3 Robinson’s Tagundacht Mr Bojangles. OD (5) 1 Seath’s Zlowfox Av Larhjelm at Sunsong, this is a super masculine hound. He presents a strong mature outline, is fit as a fiddle. His structure is correct through to his extremities & a pleasure to go over. Angulation fore & aft are correct as was shown in his measured movement. A pleasure to award him his first CC; 2 McCalmont’s Silvae Farrago, an extremely close decision here. These two have similarities & both move with purpose & thrust. This is another quality hound; 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Rock Of Gibralter. VD (1) 1 Bates & Maes-Jones’ Derochaise Mutineer, I saw from my entry that I had just one veteran to see, so I kept a sausage from breakfast. Handled extremely well by a young lady who informed me the age was 7 years today. Well he doesn’t look it. He has a good head, neck & topline. Underline is correct, as is angulation. Well done Mutineer & young lady.

PB (3) 1 Gibson’s Allfreys Rosabaya, a quality, well coated puppy, she has a good front assembly, super topline & underline. Her fore & hind angulations are correct & used well. Very promising. BP; 2 Bubb’s Rocinda Dora for Wyenot, beautifully coated pin wire, very feminine & balanced Moved quite well & is promising also; 3 Pughes & Fraser’s Bystock Extra Virgin. JB (4) 1 Wharton’s Greyhayne Lotty Merry, this is a worthy bitch. Nicely built with good use of correct quarters. Sweet expression on a lovely head. Typy & balanced with correct shoulder placement; 2 Seath’s Sunsong Pine Nut, presented with skill. Different type to 1 but when they moved they both excelled. Good prosternum & shoulders, level topline & good underline; 3 Bates & Maes-Jones’ Derochaise Frosted Orchid. BB (3) 1 G Lotty Merry; 2 Stockdale’s Wirelinc Cooks Companion, a red bitch who reminds me of one of my long gone pals. This bitch settled down to a better movement after she had checked us all out. Nicely constructed with good front, shoulders & hindquarters. A promising bitch with a charming expression & a hyperactive tail; 3 Howes’ Bramalodge Alice. PGB (7,1) 1 Smith’s Salixian Leveche, a brindle pin wire coat. Fit & hard. Moved in harmony with her owner. Lovely head & expression, strong neck & shoulders. She is level & well carried back at the underline. Strong backend & moved well; 2 W Cooks Companion; 3 Moore’s Romanchi Mi’kmaq. LB (6,1) 1 Warren’s Wagsford Lydia, a very nice balanced bitch. Very good forechest & spring of rib, excellent top & underlines. She has a lovely rear end which she uses well when moving. Very typy; 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Sternchen Alricha, smaller type & a bit out of coat (nothing that time won’t take care of). Excellent quarter hind angles which she uses well; 3 Robinson’s Tagundnacht The Gypsy Girl. OB (2) 1 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Solo, wow, what a stunning bitch here. Beautifully balanced, well moving classy bitch. Nothing to criticise here. When she moves she is a credit to the breed. I was pleased to award CC & BOB to this lovely hound; 2 Pughe & Fraser’s Ch Bystock Pussy Galore, these two must change places occasionally, another top dog. Superb coat & presentation, moved with precision. Lovely bitch.
