DACHSHUND - WIRE HAIRED

Quite a challenging entry with lots of compromise. Some look good stood and disappoint on the move. A high percentage had a just stripped look to them. Many carrying too much weight and too little muscle, completely a waste of money not to condition dogs properly. Temperaments very good.

VD
(1) 1 Barrett's Abbeydac Sorrel At Lowjinks. Free and true moving 8 year old dog with super coat, lengthy head, almond eyes, fair neck, correct front angulation, prominent forechest, rather too deep in chest and short on leg, well ribbed back, good turn of stifle and low hocks, topline a little soft now.

PD
(4) 1 Seath's Sunsong Whisper A Promise. Raw chocolate dog who is correct in his proportions, lengthy head, eye colour ok for coat and could still darken, correct neck, well laid shoulder, better upper arm than second, could have more forechest and needs to firm in the middle piece yet, uses his good hindquarters well, size and shape earned him RCC and BP. 2 Gibson's Allfreys Rock Of Gibralter. Very good coated dog, better proportions than third, better in head than first, neck ok, needs more forechest and upper arm, can flick his front a bit moving, super body, well ribbed, strong rear with low hocks, very good feet. 3 Dible's Liebling Sing A Rainbow.

JD
(2) Both are two contrasting types. 1 Lewis-Crooks' Barmaud Rufus. Very much the type that dominated the ring in the 80s. Stylish dog who uses his super rear so very well, very good head, over trimmed beard, super eye and expression, long neck, very good forechest, well laid shoulder, good upper arm, correct leg length but overlong in loin, not in full coat and not the best of toplines. 2 Rollinson's Bystock Double O'Seven At Nosinillor. Better size and proportions than first, head planes very divergent and needs a stronger muzzle, good neck, looks front heavy stood, feet ok, level topline, needs to firm up in rear, not as good as first going away, also short of coat.

PGD
(1) 1 Rollinson's Bystock Double O' Seven At Nosinllor.

LD
(5, 1) 1 Kent &Dible's Monisi On The Town. In super coat and used his rear, the best in this class, good head, super eye and expression, teeth need cleaning, good neck that flows through shoulder, would like a bit more leg and forechest, topline can firm, correct rear. 2 Surrell &Coleman's Bokra Tabasco. Super head on him, strong neck, just a bit forward in front assembly, like his leg length and is in very hard muscle, coat ready to come out, super body and rib, more angulation in rear than front. 3 Clifford's Ablebody Razzmatazz.

OD
(2) 1 McCalmont's Ch Silvae Zealot. He is top size and too long in body, but is such a well made and free moving dog, excellent head, dark almond eye, body coat very good, head hair could be better, strong neck, super front, holds a firm topline, ribs go very well back and short in loin, strong rear, wouldn't want any more angulation, so sound. CC and BOB. 2 Phillips' Cishelvine Swellegant Guy At Tendrow JW. Different type of dog, much better for size and whilst long, not as long, short of coat, very good head, super neck and shoulder, lacks upper arm, not the topline or rear of first, well muscled up.

PB
(5) 1 Rollinson's Nosinllor Artemis. In super coat, feminine bitch of correct size, just a tad long, very good head, long neck into well laid shoulder, firmer in topline and rear than second as now, correct leg length, well bent stifle, hocks could be lower, very tight feet. 2 Phillips' Tendrow Peaches. Very promising 6 month pup, just needs to firm up, appealing head, fairly harsh coat, super neck and front assembly, well ribbed back, correct hindquarters. 3 Gibson's Allfreys Lillie Langtry.

JB
(3) Three very good bitches, coat and movement helped sort them. 1 Barney's Molloney On Denise For Romaunt. Free moving bitch who is correct for proportions and very good size, in full and harsh coat, feminine head, strong neck, good shoulder, just a bit close coming to, super length rib, strong rear with correct length of second thigh, outmoved rest for CC. 2 Pughe &Fraser's Bystock Black Truffle. Eyecatching dark b who moves out very well, feminine and lengthy head, just a bit deep in stop, super neck, fair front, bigger and longer than first but is well ribbed and holds a firm topline, rather high in hock and stands on her toes rather than foot at rear, well presented. 3 Seath's Sunsong Wish Upon A Star.

PGB
(3) 1 Smith's Salixian Elise. Nicely proportioned b of correct size, fair head, slightly short in muzzle, strong neck, super coat, angulation is balanced, level topline, rather proud of tail, even stride. 2 Davis' Christmas Rose. Super coat, has a very good head, good neck, well made front, lacks hind angulation and topline, runs up on move. 3 Barrett's Ablebody Pulcinella.

LB
(6) Some of these would look so much better with less weight. 1 Phillips' Tendrow Replayed In Red. Lovely size and quite good proportions, needs to muscle and harden up, feminine head, strong neck, quite good shoulders, lovely body and firm topline, held on move, not using her rear as she could, enough coat of harsh texture. RCC. 2 Marston-Pollock's Cloudside Lara. Free moving bitch, not in full coat and had a silly moment on the table, super head, lovely elegant lines, long neck, correct forechest, good ribbing, like her leg length, tad long in back, strong rear. 3 Sexton's Molloney I'm Onatopp.

OB
(2, 1) 1 McCalmont's Ch Silvae Zest. Feminine b, size is ok, feminine head of length, correct neck, very good forechest, well laid shoulder and long ribs, rather flat in croup with high set tail and has a slightly rolling action going round, super coat.
