WIRE HAIRED

Thank you all for braving the atrocious weather conditions. It was a great honour to be invited to judge the Wires at this lovely show. Thanks to the committee and my stewards for a lovely day. Most were well presented with correct texture coat. Temperaments were good. I was happy about the majority regarding movement. Some were rather soft in condition and need more exercise. A number had dirty teeth and there is no excuse for this. The most worrying fault generally was lack of length in upper arm. This seems to be common in all 6 varieties and leads to loss of front when moving. Layback was ok in most cases. MPD. (2). 1. Derry's, Abbeydac Parsley with Andlous. 7 months old br. Nice for size for age and in good coat. Pleasing construction all through. Happy temperament. Moved soundly. In profile a shade wide behind, but at this age I'm sure this well correct itself. Promising. 2. Edwards and Lavin's, Swincomes Darite. Another 7 month old baby. Full of himself, so needs some training. Lovely head, good wire coat. He is a shade short in upper arm and hindquarters not quite as angulated as winner. However a nice sort. PD. (4). 1. Skinner's, No Name Given. BP and BPIS. Lovely sound body. Immaculate presentation as usual from this kennel. Loved everything about him from his excellent masculine outlook to his typical Wire temperament. Good angulation fore and aft. Well carried back ribbing. Level topline. Very sound mover with style. Perhaps a little larger than some but in no way coarse. Should easily make up. 2. Gibson's, Alfreys Cops n Robbers. Very typy pup. Lovely neck and shoulders. Sound mover. Needs a little more confidence and needs to body up. Otherwise promising. JD. (3). 3 nice young dogs. 1. Ritterburg the Magician. 2. Vine's, Cishelvine Nobody's Fool. He is a 'fool' at the moment but lovely with it. Nice size. Nothing exaggerated. Well developed front. Nicely angulated shoulders. Good ribbing and hindquarters. Moved out happily. Correct coat texture. 3. Dible's, Lieblings Storming Norman. Close up to second. Just preferred shoulder of second. PGD. (4). 1. Vine's, Cishelvine Seaswell. CC and BOB. All this exhibitor's dogs are very similar for type. Not exaggerated in anyway, but satisfying to go over. Lovely shoulder construction. Well angulated hindquarters. Moved soundly and happily. Nice size. He is a little naughty coming to you as he pulls slightly to one side. However the only thing from my point of view to fault. 2. Harris's, Ritlo Black Myrilyn. Handsome masculine lad. Good length of layback in shoulders but a little steep in upper arm. Otherwise little to fault. Moved ok. A bit of a fidget. Typy boy. 3. Kent's, Monisi on the Town. LD. (12). 1. Chishelvine Seaswell. 2. Phillips', Tendrow Special Format. This kennel's dogs are all of nice type and well presented. Nice neck and layback of shoulder, but as with so many a shade short in upper arm. Very sound mover and held a level topline in profile. 3. Davies's, Atahira Bags the Blue. OD. (7). Good class of different types. 1. Borman's, Ch. Sonic Pickpocket. RCC. I love this boy. Just my type. Judged him as a puppy where he was BPIS. He has matured into a worthy Champion. Excellent size. Well developed front assembly. Shoulders and hindquarters nicely angulated. Lengthy ribbing. Very sound mover. 2. Moore's, Ch. Aventine Rainman. Handsome good headed dog. Heavier type than winner. Excellent coat. Good front and ribbing. Kept his topline on the move. Smart lad. 3. Dibble and Moon's, Ch/Ir Ch. Lieblings Cross the Pond to Barmaid. Another handsome super coated red body. Lovely type. V (5). Lovely to see these senior people again. 1. McCalmont's, Ch. Silvae Pickwick. Have always admired this dog. Such a nice size. Excellent conformation all through. Not looking a Veteran at 9 years. Considered him for top honours, but he was a shade untidy in hind movement on the day. In profile and coming to me very sound. Gorgeous. 2. Poulter's, Ch. Lankelly Black Bryony. 12 years old and in lovely coat and condition. Top winner in her earlier years, and represented here the breed and winning Groups and other top awards. Very sound mover who really enjoyed her day. 3. Gordon's, Ch. Silvae Gemstone at Cempsey. 10 years old also looking pretty good. MPB. (3). 1. Barrett's, Ablebody Pulciella. A roly poly super coated baby 6 months old red. Only her second show making it just a game. Nothing to dislike at this age. Well developed fornt and quarters. Sound mover, when she decided to behave. Promising. 2. Bink's, Tannahill Helena. 7 months old. Good front and quarters. Moved soundly. Coat needs some attention, but quite a nice baby. 3. Locksmith's, Abbetdac Corriander. PB. (5). 3 promising girls. 1. Phillips', Tendrow Poetic Justice. BBP. Loved this red girl. Just my type. Pretty head. Lovely length of neck leading into correct shoulders. Excellent hindquarters which she uses on the move. Such a happy girl who wags her tail all the time. Coat not quite through but the part that is there appears to be correct. Very promising. Shall watch her progress with interest. 2. Seath's, Sunsong Gypsy Rose. Chocolate. Have always had a soft spot for this colour, so difficult to get the correct texture, especially on the head and front. This is the case here. Howere, her back coat is coming through ok. She is so similar in type to my winner. Also a happy girl. Promising. 3. Gibson's, Alfreys Grace Kelly. Sister to second in JD. Same type but more well bodied. Should do well with maturity. JB. (6). 1. Pugh and Fraser's, Bystock Black Inca. RCC. What an eycatcher, I couldn't take my eyes off her. Lovely heard coated black brindle. Such a showgirl. Really covered the ground on moving. Wouldn't change anything about her. Considered her for the CC but needs another month or two to mature. Lovely. 2. Clifford's, Ablebody La Traviata. Attractive promising girl with nothing serious to fault. Front movement and profile are fine. Just needs to tighten in hind movement., this should come with maturity. Shade out of coat. 3. Gowlett's, Tendrow Mirror Image at Manalsa. PGB. (10). Disappointing class for quality. 1. Harmer's, Ballanroo All That Jazz. Super coat red who would not behave on the table. However on the move looked well and was sound. Nice shape when on the floor. Needs firm handling. 2. Gordon's, Cempsey Florin. Red. Not as tidy in coat as winner. Quite a nice girl but preferred the movement of winner. 3. Harris's, Ritlo Cut in Emeralds. LB . (10). Much better class. 1. Rollinson's, Nosinillor Joan of Ark. CC. Excellent type of bitch. Very scopy. Good width throughout. Carries herself with style, but is very happy and shows this in her tail carriage, unfortunately. The set is fine so I forgave her as her other qualities stood out. Lovely length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Good body length. Well carried back ribbing. Vey sound flowing movement. Her overall maturity won her the CC. 2. Phillips', Tendrow Special Formula. Another excellent bitch from this kennel. Well put together. Good bone and ribbing. Feminine head. Moves really well. Not quite the shoulders of winner. A lovely girl. Beautifully presented. 3. Vine's, Cishelvine Ocean Dream. Another typical bitch but a little heavy in body condition on the day. Sound. OB. (9). Quality girls here. 1. McCalmont's, Ch. Silvae Mystic Light. Typical type from this well known kennel. Correct coat texture, well presented. Lovely construction front and rear. Really catches the eye on moving. Very worthy Champion. 2. Pugh and Fraser's, Ch. Bystock Pumpkin Pie. Another top qinner. Quality girl. Good bone. Super coat. Really nice front and shoulder construction. Strong hindquarters. Moved well in profile and coming to me, but was a shade careless in hind movement on the day. 3. Moore's, Ch. Aventine Minority Report. Well presented. Smart type of girl. Excellent coat.
