WIRE HAIRED

A lovely entry for this, my first time awarding CCs in this breed. I found the exhibitors very sporting and the dogs of high quality and lovely temperament.

PD (2,1) 1 Pinkerton’s Bystock Skye Waler at Menigma. A 6 month old baby who is a confident and promising puppy. Liked his head with dark eye and good ear. Good front with well boned legs and good feet. Well ribbed and good rear angulation. Looked good in stance but needs to tighten in rear movement and topline and learn to be less proud of his tail.

JD (4) 1 McCalmont’s Silvae Patriot. Really lovely puppy of excellent type. Has a super head, lovely eye, reachy neck and good shoulders. Good forechest and well boned legs. Neat elbows. Lovely length of back, strong topline and well rounded rear. Carries a good harsh coat and moved very freely going round. Front action was true, just needs to tighten a shade behind. I liked him very much. Best Puppy. 2 Moore’s Romanchi Carrier. Slightly heavier boned than the winner and a different head type. Broader in backskull but with a good eye and ear. Good forechest, length of back and ribbing. Nicely muscled in the rear with low hocks. Moved well with good reach and drive. 3 Evans’ Saxonbury Playmate.

PGD (7) 1 Castle’s Silandajo Mr Ferguson. Liked this one in head and outline. Has a good front, excellent bone and tight feet. Good topline which he held on the move. Good coat and furnishings. Well muscled in rear with low hocks, was sound out and back and exhibited good forward reach going round. 2 Glanville-Biggs’ Silvae Onyx. Pleasing in outline and impressed going round for his free movement. Good neck and topline. Good forechest, shoulders good, upperarm could be longer. Good length of body and good rear angles and tailset. Coat not at its best. . 3 Baxter’s Lankelly Timothy Grass at Kharmina.

LD (5,2) 1 Burke, Manston and Williams’ Bonavoir Kelly’s Eye. Red, pleasing in head with a fair neck and good topline. Well boned, stood four square. Front ok, good ribs and topline. Very good rear which was well muscled. Moved well with good reach and drive which was where he scored over 2. 2 Coverley’s Romanchi Choctaw. Younger brindle dog who impressed on the table. Very nice head and eye. Good shoulders, topline and rear. Prominent forechest, well ribbed. Carried a good coat and furnishings. Whjen moving had not the reach or drive I expected and was slack in topline. 3 Rollinson’s Nosinllor Muskateer.

OD (8,1) 1 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Pickwick. Epitomises type and quality. Superb head, neck and shoulders. Super length and firm in topline. By far the best mover in this class. Carries a really harsh coat, definately long, low and level and a really good showman into the bargain. 2 Moore’s Romanchi Beaver. I liked this chap very much also, although he is slightly different in type. Super in front construction with an excellent forechest and deep keel. Good bone, legs and feet. Good rear with plenty of muscle and low hocks. Good tailset. Also a very good mover. Res CC. 3 Ticehurst’s Ermewood Fizkin at Wirecrest.

PB (3) 1 Edwards’ Lovehayne Blue Pixie. Sweet little bitch and of good size and substance, carrying a bit of puppy fat so a bit roly-poly. Pleasing in head and eye. Front ok. Good bone and tight feet. Good topline and well rounded rear. Coat coming in ok. Moved very well. 2 Kent’s Liebling Star Attraction. Little red bitch, quite an extrovert. Well constructed and a good mover. For me she is too small. Her head is proportionate but has too much stop and lacks strength in foreface. Has a good neck, shoulders and topline and has good ribs and rear angles. Light in bone, neck, shoulders but proportionate to her size. 3 Pughe and Fraser’s Bystock Skye Lark Ascending.

JB (6,1) 1 Phillips’ Saxonbury Playday at Tendrow. Liked her type, excellent head with good eye and expression. Good front with chest well let down. Neat elbows, good bone and feet. Good topline and correct rear angles. Moved well covering the ground easily with good drive behind. Carried herself well going round with good head carriage. 2 Moore’s Romanchi Chicora. Very impressive bitch with excellent outline and substance. Slightly bigger than the winner but in poor coat. Lovely front with excellent forechest, good length of back and very good rear. Moved truly front and rear. 3 Evans’ Saxonbury Playful.

PGB (7) 1 Phillips’ Saxonbury Playtime at Tendrow. Really lovely bitch of good type. I see from my catalogue is the sister of the winner of the previous class. This one had a bit more length of body and has all the attributes of her sister into the bargain. Super head, good outline and balance both standing and moving. Moved freely with good reach and drive. In good coat and condition. 2 Higgott’s Soneve Phoebe of Elaton. Similar in size and type. Not quite as good in forehand as the winner but has a good topline. Spring of rib, strong loin and well muscled rear. Good tailset and correct coat. Moved soundly, 3 Kent’s Liebling Sweet Charity.

LB (13,6) 1 Rees’ Ermewood Arabella. Very nice bitch indeed. Liked her outline and balanced construction. Good front with well laid shoulders and good return of upperarm. Lovely deep chest with ribs carried well back. Well muscled rear and low hocks. Moved very well to take this class. 2 Davies’ Cempsey Centime at Atahira. Another with a good outline. Lovely head, good front construction with well developed forechest. Good bone and feet. Well muscled quarters. In good coat and condition. Preferred the winner in hind action. 3 Ferguson’s Teaselwood Tattycoram.

OB (10,1) 1 Patton’s Lesandnic Like A Butterfly JW. Really beautiful bitch. Such a well constructed Dachshund, very feminine with a superb head, neck and shoulders. Excellent front with prominent forechest, correcr return of upperarm, neat elbows. Strong topline, rounded rear with low hocks. Good tailset. She was in sparkling condition and moved with great purpose and drive. I liked everything about her. CC and Best of Breed. 2 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Picnic. Another excellent Dachshund with lots to like. Superb head, great coat and furnishings. Good outline held on the move. She moved truly out and back but lacked the drive and enthusiasm of the younger bitch on the day. Res CC. 3 Poulter and Macdonald’s Ch Lankelly Kelsey Rose.
