This variety always seems to me to be one of the greatest characters, have amazing temperaments, and really let their hair down in public. In this annexe with sound reverberating around the walls they also seemed very noisy! Exhibitors were packing cages onto trolleys and leaving the Wires still on their benches, and they needed to let everyone know that they were guarding the area. I enjoyed judging the breed very much. Movement in some left a bit to be desired. A few could do with joining Weight Watchers of going to the gym, as they were a bit fat and rather soft in condition.

MPD (4) 1 and Best Puppy, Borman’s Sonic Pickpocket. 8 months and an all quality puppy with excellent coat texture. Good head, body and topline. Sound mover and well conditioned and handled. Promising, as was 2, Skinner’s Ritterburg Star Sign. Only 6 months, really together for such a baby. Already has a topline which he holds on the move. Harsh coat, sound. Good bone and lots of character. 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Balthasar.

PD (3) 1 Dible’s Leibling Walking on Water. Good coated 10 month old puppy of good length. Quality head, good depth of body and well ribbed up. Moved well behind, broad rump and well boned. Happy chap who moved well behind. 2 Pinkerton’s Bystock Skye Walker at Menigma. 10 months with a quality head, clean neck and shoulders. Excellent coat texture, moved ok. Just a little slack in topline on the move. 3 Gibson’s Allfreys Balthasar.

JD (2,1) 1 Derry’s Andlouis the Tempest. 14 months, good size and type. A bit short of coat on the day but what he had was of good texture. Typical head. Low set hocks. Well bodied, conditioned and handled. A firm topline which he kept on the move, went well.

PGD (3,1) 1 Norman and Ratcliffe’s Ermi Wood Buzfuz. Well boned 2 year old. Muscular neck, strong well knit body, firm and fit. Moved better than 2. 2 Davison’s Lesandnic Landing Light. 2 years, lovely head, eyes and expression. Very good coat texture, well conditioned and sympathetically handled. Failed in topline and front movement.

LD (7,2) 1 Coverley’s Romanchi Choctaw. 2 years handsome Wire with a very good head and expression. Feet could be a little tighter but made a very good account of himself on the move. Excellent coat, body and muscle tone. Clean neckline, delightful personality. 2 Derry’s Soneve Pharoah at Andlouis. Quality dog of 2 and a half years. Good head, topline and quarters. Harsh jacket, well handled. Needs a little more reach in front movement. 3 Burke, Manston and Williams’ Bonavoir Kelly’s Eye.

OD (6,1) 1 CC and Best of Breed, Rollinson’s Nosinllor Grenadier. 3 years and I really liked this dog at first sight and he was equally good to go over. Quality head and clean outline, so well proportioned, healthy coat of great texture. Focused showman, very fit and a sound, purposeful mover. Perfect topline and quarters. 2 and Res CC, Seath and Freeman’s Am Ch Stonevale Chairman of the Board. 5 years, masculine head. Good ribcage, bone and body. Confident showman with good ring presence. Has a lot to like about him, I preferred the shoulder placement of the winner. 3 Dible’s Ch Leibling Here Comes the Boss.

MPB (7,1) 1 Skinner’s Ritterburg Against All Odds. Litter sister to 2nd in MPD. Full of her own importance and loving every moment in the ring. Very good outline and overall balance. Feminine head, good bone and topline. Harsh jacket, sound. 2 Heffernan’s Ritlo Maid Merrianne at Mamutik. 8 months with a big personality. Good bone, body and outline. Moved well. Expressive eyes and an intelligent expression. 3 Rowe’s Boloria Just A Dream.

PB (2) 1 Patton’s Leibling Ponder on Me. Litter sister to PD winner and like 2nd in MPD and 1st in MPB they were all sired by Am Ch Ch Starbarrack Bone Appetit. A composed showgirl, excellent topline and proportions. Stylish mover. Coat not at its best. 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Ursula. 8 months, good neckline and body. Thick pads and good feet. Happy positive showgirl, a bit too proud of her tail when moving. Dark eyes.

JB (2) 1 Patton’s Audleys Road to Lesandnic. Tight coat, lovely head and eyes. Good bone, legs and feet. Animated mover and showgirl. Topline needs to firm up. 2 Kent’s Liebling Star Attraction. Yearling red, would like a little more bone and substance. Feminine head, good topline and moved ok. Slightly gay tail.

PGB (11) 1 Phillips’ Saxonbury Playday at Tendrow. Like Best of Breed sired by Pick and Mix. Well constructed 2 year old of excellent type and proportions. Focused showgirl, best mover out and back in this big class. Quality head, good neckline and ribcage. Well handled and conditioned. 2 Higgott’s Soneve Phoebe of Elaton. Stylish bitch of 2 years. Good coat and condition. Loveliest of dark eyes in a good head. Well presented, moved and showed well. 3 Coverley’s Romanchi Tigua at Aventine.

LB (9,1) 1 and Res CC, Phillips’ Saxonbury Playtime at Tendrow. Litter sister to PGB winner. Coat in better form than her sister, same good outline, neck and proud carriage. Excellent quality and type, fresh and fit looking. Good bone and a sound, active mover. 2 Hitchens and Harris’ Liebling Boss Anova with Ritlo. 2 year old red with a good outline, topline and quarters. No more weight please. Attractive head, bright eyes and good coat texture. A confident mover, well handled. 3 Kent’s Liebling Sweet Charity.

OB (5,1) 1 and CC, Patton’s Ch Lesandnic Like A Butterfly JW. 2 years. A comfortable winner, I thought. Good head, eyes and expression. Bright showgirl who responded well to her handler. Harsh jacket, sound mover with good drive. Ample bone and very good body and topline. 2 Ryder’s Ch Sonic Knight Sky to Jaskar. 5 years, carrying a bit of extra weight on the day, but this did not affect her movement. Appealing head, very good coat texture. Good bone, well handled. 3 Robinson’s Ir Ch Tagundnacht the Rag Nymph.
