WIRE HAIRED

It was a pleasure to judge this breed as it has been quite a while since I last judged them, so all the exhibits were new to me. I did find there were many different types. I found that feet need to be watched, many exhibits had long toenails which spoilt the shape of the foot. Teeth were clean, presentation was excellent but I did find that some were in need of a bath.

PD (6,3) 1 Gibson’s Allfreys Seabiscuit. Brindle of nice type. Masculine head, correct well filled front. Moved out well but needs to firm up in front. 2 Yardley’s Tendrow Texas Ranger. Immature puppy compared to the winner. Good head and neck. Correct shoulder placement. Moved ok. 3 Moore’s Romanchi Carrier. Brindle puppy of larger type than the other 2. Needs to settle in outline.

JD (2,1) 1 Dible’s Leibling Here Comes the Boss. My notes sat ‘simply stunning’. Red dog of excellent size and type. His coat was presented in excellent consition. Masculine head on a well arched neck, correct shoulder placement. Well sprung ribs, well angulated hindquarters which gave thrust on the move. He kept his outline at all times and kept his handler on his toes! Pleased to award him the CC and Best of Breed.

PGD (4,1) 1 Derry’s Soneve Pharoah at Andlouis. Brindle of pleasing type. Correct head without coarseness, well sprung ribs and moved well. 2 Glanville-Biggs and McAlmont’s Silvae Onyx. Brindle of larger type. Masculine head on a well arched neck. Needs to tighten on the move as he tends to lose his topline. 3 Coverley’s Romanchi Choctaw. Very large. Good head and neck. Preferred the front assembly of 1 and 2.

LD (3) 1 Rollinson’s Nosinllor Grenadier. Brindle of nice size and type. Best topline in this class. Nice well filled front, good feet and moved out well. 2 Carter’s Romanchi Chenalis at Boglands. Brindle of larger type than the winner. Masculine head with well arched neck. Moved out well. 3 Clifford’s Brockbane Papageno with Ablebody. Brindle of different type. Did not have the front construction of the winner and lacked animation on the move.

OD (9) A mixed class of different types. 1 Clifford’s Winterstone Symphony with Ablebody. Brindle of pleasing type. Nice head and well arched neck, correct front and shoulder placement. Kept his outline at all times, well angulated hindquarters. I would like to see him carrying less weight. Gave his handler a hard time in the challenge, but I was pleased to award him the Res CC. 2 Phillips’ Ch Wells Sea Breeze at Tendrow. Brindle of taller type to the winner. He scores well in all departments. Moves out well, the handler certainly gets the best out of him. 3 McAlmont and Heywood’s Ch & Am Ch Starbarrack Bone Appetite. Brindle dog that is very elegant and moves out well, but on the day he was moving wide in front which spoilt the picture.

PB (6,2) 1 Moore’s Romanchi Chicora. Well grown puppy for her age. Pleasing head and expression. Well arched neck, well angulated hindquarters. Moved with attitude. I was pleased to award her the Best Puppy. 2 Skinner’s Ritterburg Schehrazade. Bitch of smaller type. Liked her overall length. Correct head on a well arched neck. Correct front. I hope the handler gets some practice so that she can be schooled to get the best out of her. 3 Phillips’ Tendrow Yellow Rose of Texas. Another nice puppy. I liked her a lot. Nice head and correct size, but on the day was giving her hander a hard time.

JB (12,4) 1 Patton’s Lesandnic Like A Butterfly. Pretty bitch with an excellent head on a well arched neck. Correct, well filled front. Kept her outline at all times - needs to mature to finish the picture. 2 Phillips’ Saxonbury Playtime at Tendrow. Another bitch I liked. Not as mature as the winner. Sweet head and expression. Everything in the right place and moved out well. 3 Locksmith’s Abbeydac Angelica. Quality bitch with lots to like about her. Good outline which she kept at all times. Moved ok.

PGB (10,2) 1 Kent’s Liebling Sweet Charity. Brindle with lovely head, neck and front. Liked her outline on the move. Well angulated quarters and moved with purpose. 2 Harris’ Ritlo Silvered Juniper. Thought she was going to be my winner. Pretty head and neck, correct front and well sprung ribs. Moved with verve. 3 Higgott’s Soneve Phoebe of Elation. Brindle with a pretty head and expression. Nice well filled front but needs to tighten up on the move.

LB (10,4) 1 Seath’s Sunsong Secret Affair. Dark brindle presented in excellent condition, she sure can move! Correct head and filled out front. Correct shoulders and keeps her outline at all times. Pleased to award her the Res CC. 2 Borman’s Sonic Sugar Babe. Bitch of a different to to the winner. Has a lovely outline which she kept at all times. For me she is a little short in upperarm and tends to sink when stacked. Moved out well. 3 Gordon’s Silvae Zloty at Cempsey. Red of a diffrent type. Nice head, well filled front. Moved out well.

OB (9,3) 1 Gordon’s Cempsey Coquet JW. Pretty bitch of excellent size and type. Sweetest head and expression. Correct well filled front. Well placed shoulders, good length of ribbing. Well angulated quarters which made her move with verve. Keeps her outline at all times. I was pleased to award her the CC, her second, hope she gains her title soon. 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Genevieve JW. Bitch of larger type. Nice head, neck and front. Moved out well. 3 Ryder’s Sonic Knight Sky to Jaskar. Scores well in all departments. Moved out well.
