1st LEVELISS PLAYGROUND TWIST (MISS K E PEARSON)
Visiting the Cruft's Show since 1988. I was the eye witness of the breed's development in the last 30 years in the UK as a breeder-judge since over 30 years. I was privileged to be able to express my opinion about it having the privilege to be invited by the Cruft's Committee this year. I cannot thank it enough. The breed type has been maiorly changed in its good direction and the procedure is not yet finished. The size went down to the proper one in most of the cases. I've seen many dogs with the necessary lean, long but strong head without having a too strong a stop and round forehead. Some of the dogs had a little bit narrow skull instead of the 'triangular" one which is a new challenge in the breed coming from a certain region. I experienced several dogs with correct ground-clearence, not being too short on their legs anymore. I am gladly realized the many clean pasterns without the "Bassety" horizontal wrinkles which is so important in this athletic, strong but also rather "dry" built breed. The breed is "fighting" with unfortunate attributes such as short upperarms combined with lack of forechest and reach of front movement, which I also had seen in some of my entries. My winners could easily win major titles at any Show held anywhere in the World.
VD 1 Joy's Morailsa Druids Secret. A superb black and tan male with a clean, well balanced outline. Lovely head, with not too large ears, correct front. A good length of the upperarm to provide the proper reach in front on the move. One of the best toplines on the day. A breed typical movement. He challenged for the top awards very strongly. 2 Macdonald's Ch/Am Gr Dual Ch Bensarka Phoenix Sun. A very impressive red. The best of heads with excellent expression. Elegant neck, correct topline, good ground clearence. He made a perfect picture standing, the decision has been made during their movement. 3 Chauhan Manish's Hampdach Man In Black. Excellent type. Good substance. Proudly got around the ring. An excellent temperament.
PD 1 Hughes' Matzell Matamua At Ivcar. A lovely red. Masculine head, almond shaped eyes providing an excellent expression. Good reach of neck falling into well laid back shoulders. Good length of upperarms. Excellent forechest to his age and correct topline  and tailset. He is elegant and built dry. 2 Jones & Vearncomb's Adnerbs Brew Ce Bonus. Very promising puppy with correct ground clearence. An excellent frame to be filled in the future. Very similar to first in most of the aspects.
JD 1 Jaseviciute's My Pascal Marselio Kompanija JW EJW'16 Balt JCh, Hr JCh (ATC AT02689LTU). A quality black and tan very much in "Continental" type with slightly shorter body. Lovely head, excellent ribcage. Correct front, topline and rear on the move. Well angulated front and hindlegs. 2 Skipper's Lauralee Artful Dodger. Nice type, lovely head. Excellent substance. Topline and front needs to improve in the future. Slightly wide in the rear on the move. 3 Barros Feijoo's Lewis De La Legende D Androcles (ATC AT02623FRA). A masculine young dog with excellent head. Good silhouette standing. His movement should improve with the time passing.
PGD 1 Payton's Minalsa Mulberry Of Marajo. An impressive red one with a very eyecatching silhouette. Nice head, correct neck, excellent forechest and front, correct round croup, good tailset. A lot to like on him standing and moving. My Res CC Dog. 2 Graham's Morailsa Return To Sender To Gameron. A correctly built black and tan. Elegant and attractive. Nice head, good forechest and front. A good depth of quality. Slightly longer in body than first. 3 Kerry's Kireton Beau Diddley. A masculine, strongly built male with plenty of quality. Needs more time to compete more with first and second.
LD 1 Macdonald's Jagies Nabucco At Bensarka (Imp USA). A superb red. Lovely head, elegant neck, good balance and substance. He is masculine, dry in his built and elegant. Good front and ground clearence. 2 Bethel & Gaskin's Sobahli Sham Prezent President To Hampdach (Imp Rus) ShCM. Nice black and tan. Very similar to first in his type and overall picture. Masculine, well ribbed up. Well angulated quarters, plenty of substance. His topline could be a little bit stronger to top the strong class. 3 McNaughton's Carper Ag Von Nordor. A good masculine male with good substance. Nicely headed. Masculine and well balanced. He should move with a bit more strength in front.
OD 1 Armstrong's Ch Lauralee Nicholas Nickleby. A superb black caught my eyes and attention immediately he entered into the ring. A rare combination of the necessary powerful working dog and the elegant "stallion" like male. Oozing overall quality. Correct anatomical features. The best of masculine yet well chiselled heads. He is not only typie but also "stylish" creating positive emotions. My CC dog as the owner said during the final foto session this has been his 16th... 2 Joy's Morailsa Druids Secret. My Veteran Class winner dog proudly carrying his great quality around the ring once more. 3 Williams & Moes' Cwmdarhian San Andreas. A masculine male with lovely head and outline. Good neck and forechest. Made a good run to the winners having all the attributes of them, but their elegance put them in front of him at the end. Difficult decision.
VB 1 Turner's Marictur Moulin Rouge. A superb red lady fitting to any existing Standards in the breed. Lovely feminine head and expression, elegant neck ,unusually long upperarms. A classic Dachshund in every sense and from every angle. It was a joy to go over her! 2 Higgins' Ch Leveliss What She Said. A lovely feminine black and tan with gorgeous head with the proper (not too large) ears as they should be. Excellent balance even in her age, the proper length (not too long) of her body. A breed typical movement. 3 Wood's Rosenket Misquoted Churchoak. The usual excellent type from this kennel I always admired. Feminine head, good outline. Correct quarters tailset and croup. Moved well.
PB 1 Norton's Matzell Myrtle. A breathtaking red puppy female with a great future to come!! Feminine head unrealisticly good forechest and long upperarm combined with the proper length of her legs (so rare to see together). Well angulated hindlegs, excellent substance, correct topline. She was in the competition until its very end ! BPIB. 2 Macdonald's Bensarka I Like Twucks. Another superb red with very similar qualities of the first. Nice head, correct anatomical features makes her a sound mover. She is slightly longer in her body than the first. 3 Stringfellow's Oxonachs Amethyst At Silvatica. Another bitch with a bright future in this very strong class. A lot to like on her. Feminine head, clean outline. It was simply rather unfortunate for her to meet with these two brilliant ones in the same class.
JB 1 Hunt's Lauralee Miss Marple At Carpaccio. A strongly built, sound, feminine young bitch. Nicely headed, so well balanced with plenty of substance. She excells in her forechest, front and topline. Presented in perfection. 2 Freyer's Farah Vom N÷llenberg (ATC AU00216DEU). A beautiful red.Very much the type I like (more "Continental"). Very feminine head and expression, but slightly refined in her bones. Perfect ground-clearence, the length of her body fits to the FCI Standard. A good future is waiting for her I am sure. 3 Wand's Wanderhund Phoenix Sky. An eyecathing feminine red with beautiful head. A very clean outline with the balance I am looking for in the breed. I can see a great promise and would like to see her again in 2 yrs time!
PGB 1 Kay's Grainne Lannister At Lochlip (Imp). A fabulous black and tan. Lovely long head with good expression. Strong and elegant covers a lots of ground. Correct front, forechest and topline.Well angulated hindlegs, excellent spring of ribs. She is a sound mover. 2 Armstrong's Lauralee Girl Crush. Red with a gorgeous silhouette. Nicely headed. Good reach of neck, strong forechest, correct topline, good substance. A very sound side gait, but her front is a little bit narrow on the day. 3 Jones' Adnerbs Lexi Get Fizzical. A typy, quality female with impressive head. Good balance and substance, correct topline. She was entered in one of the strongest classes.
LB A very strong class, it was a joy for me to go over them!! 1 Wand's Wanderhund Moon Dragon. A lovely red. Very much the type I am looking forward. Feminine head with strong underjaw, long upperarm, good forechest. Ground clearence on the border line. Correct topline. Well angulated hindlegs. I was impressed by her. 2 Paterson's Phaeland Sent Direct To Ambiesque. A hard decision between these two. Lovely head, lots of substance, correct topline. A very sound quality female. First only had some extra qualities to win over her. 3 Reynolds' Cwmdarhian Look Whos Talkin. Lovely feminine head and expression. Clean well balanced outline. Moved well. I easily can imagine that she can give birth to a future star. Type and quality is there!
OB 1 Wand's Wanderhund Scarlet Witch. I've never seen this bitch before. A love for first sight from my side. She has everything that the Standard wishes for. Everything is just right having where and how it should be on her from her ultra feminine gorgeous head until the tip of the correctly sat and carried tail. Perfect ground clearence, strong forechest with clean pasterns. An eye pleasing picture standing and moving. She is so gorgeous that was able to win over one of my all time favourite females. My CC bitch (her first but by not any means last one), later shortlisted in the Hound Group. 2 Fedorova's Cib/Cie/Rus/Fin/Est/Lat/Lv/Balt/Pol/Ger/Lux/Sw/Cz Ch Harizma Iz Strani Grez JWW, WW, EW (ATC AU00610RUS). One of my all-time favourites in the breed whom I awarded her well deserved World Winner title 5 years agon in 2012. An oozing overall quality. The possibly biggest compliment from my side that I would NOT change anything on her even in her age of 8 yrs. A picture that every young judge has to remember to understand the breed. She was slightly outshone by the first, but she makes my heart beat faster. Res CC Bitch. 3 Reynolds' Ir/Nl/Mal Ch Hacienda Better Tell Dad. A worthy Champion with excellent breedtype, head, neck, shoulders and forechest. She moved well. So very well balanced. She had just been put in a class that can be considered as one of the all time bests.
GCD/B 1 Pearson's Leveliss Playground Twist. Good type, a lovely silhouette. Nice feminine head and expression, good front. I would prefer her a little bit stronger bone structure. Moved well.
