My apologies for the late start in the judging of the Smooths and the rush to get the BOB into the Group. Much has been said in the not too distant past about the poor temperaments of the Smooth variety. Suffice it to say I am delighted to report that my face was washed in the MPD class and I didn't find any with poor temperaments. This variety is not now as numerically as strong as some other varieties but really does score in quality.
MPD (5, 1) 1 Armstrong's Lauralee Nicholas Nickleby. Not my favourite of Dickens' novels but this b/t was  so masculine with the most beautiful houndy head. Well off for bone with lovely feet. Good height to length proportions. Lovely lay of shoulders and hind angulation. Went well. 2 Burke & Marston's Bonavoir Chairman O' The Board. Again, a most attractive head and a glorious colour. Needs more time as not as mature as first but presented a good outline on the move. 3 Crosbie & Holroyd's Bonavoir Red Heetor.
JD (2) 1 Andison & Peel's Excelmagic Wonderful Way.Very attractive young brindle boy whom I liked immensley. Presented a most attractive outline stacked and on the move. Not too big and with a wonderful temperament and for me a colour I like. Masculine head and well put together and moved well. I feel he just needs to mature and fill out. 2 Stringfellow's Sontag Silvan Sorcerer. A most attractive head and moved soundly. Nothing to dislike as a good honest type but could have moved with more confidence.
YD (1) 1 McNaughton's Cedarvoch Sanquhar. Lovely red boy whom I liked a lot. Again, very good head with good angulation fore and aft. Well off for bone with good feet. Presented a stylish outline stacked and on the move.
LD (1) 1 Norton's Matzell Man Of The Match. Another lovely red boy who scored in length to height ratio with prominent pro sternum. Lovely masculine head and eye and eye.Nicely angulated front and rear. Moved very well presenting a good outline.
OD (6) Lovely class. 1 Hunt's Cwmdarhian Hogan's Hero At Carpaccio JW.  B/t who is all of a piece with nothing exaggerated who moved as if he could go all day. Houndy, masculine head. Standing four square as he is so well balanced. Loved him. CC and BOB. 2 MacDonald's Multi Ch Bensarka Phoenix Sun. Shown by a different handler. I gave this dog best puppy last time I judged and he has matured into a beautiful specimen. Beautiful head with stylish movement presenting a classy outline. Res CC. 3 Gatheral's Ch Graham Phaeland Screw Driver.
MPB (2) 1 Norton's Matzell Minella. Most attractive compact red bitch who has all the essentials and ticks the boxes. Beautiful head and front assembly. Just needs to mature. BPB, BPIB. 2 Burke & Marston's Bonavoir Nulli Secunda. B/t who has all the essentials. Nicely constructed with a good shape, just needs to mature.
PB (1) 1 Morgan-Aitkins' Morailsa Secret Romance For Demorgan. B/t who presented a nice size, shape and make. Feminine head. Good feet and ribbing. Sympathetically handled to get the best out of her.
JB (2) 1 Rawson's Rosenket Super Trooper. Lovely chocolate who was more mature than second.Well off for bone and very well angulated. Lovely feminine head with good feet. Moved very soundly. One for the future. 2 Anderson & Peel's Sontag Sue Cher. Self Red bitch who has a lot going for her. Good shape and well angulated but needs time.
YB (1) 1 McNaughton's Cedavoch Sornn. A very lovely red who was all of a piece with super angulation front and rear. Moved soundly, keeping a level topline with a classic outline. Pressed very hard in the challenge.
PGB (3) 1 Hunt's Carpaccio Hershey Kisses. Lovely chocolate who was well bodied and moved with purpose. Nice size with a neat feminine head. Good length to height proportions and used the ring to her advantage. 2 Gatheral Graham's Phaeland Shyn Demanding. Beautifully constructed b/t, but not in as firm a condition as first and although moved very soundly, needed to go with more vigour. A lovely bitch. 3 Andison & Peel's Ryobeau Cookies And Cream.
LB (4) 1 Armstrong's Lauralee Lush Lashes. Lovely sized red and very sound. Feminine head with attractive expression. Excellent front and rear assembly and all of a piece. 2 Rawson's Rosenket Queen Of Hearts. Lovely chocolate who is very sound. Similar remarks apply but just preferred the overall outline of first but a bitch to be proud of. 3 Dalgety's Thundergay Blue Bayou.
OB (9) A wonderful class of beautiful bitches with champions down the line. I was spoilt for choice. 1 Armstrong's Lauralee Alexandra. Beautiful red with bone and style but not overdone. I fell for her reach of neck and front and rear angulation.Classic outline stacked and on the move. Loved her. 2 MacDonald's Bensarka Golden Garter. Beautiful bitch who has so much going for her and apparently sister to my Res Dog CC. She ticked the boxes for me today. Res CC. 3 Dalgetty's Thundergay Bebop A Lula.
