SMOOTH HAIRED

I would like to thank the exhibitors for a super entry which I really did enjoy judging, but what is happening to heads, an assortment of all shapes and sizes.

PD (4) 1 Higgins’ Levellis This Charming Man. Really nice 9 month old B/T. Good shaped head, correct bite, dark eye of good shape. Enough neck going into well placed shoulders with a strong prominent forechest. Level topline, well ribbed with sufficient heart and lung room.  Nice strong hindquarters for a puppy. Perhaps a little more length would complete the picture. BP and RDCC 2 Rawson’s Rosenket Nostra Damus. 8 month old B/T. Another very nice puppy, Good shaped head, correct bite, long neck going into well placed shoulders with a correct forechest. Plenty of bone , Steady topline but not as strong hindquarters as one and hence the movement was a bit erractic 3 Macdonald’s Bensarka Phoenix Sun

JD (2) 1 Jeffrey’s  Carpaccio Summer Class at Andax. B/T 13 month old. Nice head and eye, correct bite. Good shoulder placement and forechest. Forearm short with plenty of bone. Topline okay, would have liked tail to be slightly better set on. And could have been a little more positive on the move. 2 Gatheral-Graham’s Phaeland Skrew Driver. Attractive red boy with a lovely head, he looked very nice and balanced standing but was not cooperating on the move.

PGD
(6,2)  1 Bethels’ Hampdach Gold Quest. Happy red boy , balanced with plenty of bone and one of the few that had good tight elbows. He had plenty of length. Good topline which he held on the move. Good eye and bite. Moving he was a little wide behind. 2 Lewis and Eddies’ Abbagirls For Me and My Girl Welcumen. Another nice red boy. I preferred his head shape to the above, Nice shaped eye, good bite, Enough bone, but rather erratic on the move. 3 Chauhan’s Hampdach Manninblack

LD
(10,1) Really nice class 1 Ellis’ Tealby Another Rumour in Red. Well presented red boy with a good hound head. A balanced dog who moved soundly fore and aft, well muscled up with tight elbows. Correct bite, kind eye, nicely placed shoulders, prominent forechest, and plenty of length to his body. Good strong hindquarters 2 Davis’ Undeg Humming Top. Another very pleasing red boy. Masculine with a well shaped head. Enough bone. Well ribbed. Held his topline moving and standing, just not quite the verve of one on the move. 3 McNaughton’s Cedavoch Born to Boogie

OD
(5) Another good class 1 Hunt’s Lauralee Living Daylights at Carpaccio  DCC and BOB. I really liked the style of this hound, he moved around the ring as if he owned it. He was sound and balanced and well put together and nicely presented. I was  pleased to discover that this was his all important third ticket. 2 Kerry’s Santag Sir Cumference at Kireton. Yet another good dog. Again well put together, not quite the head of one, but he had a well shaped eye, correct bite, good length of neck going into well placed shoulders with an excellent forechest, this all led to a good topline and sound hind quarters.  3 Macdonald’s Carpaccio Black Out at Bensarka

PB
(8) 1 Higgins’ Leveliss What She Said. Litter sister to puppy dog winner, B/T Pretty and feminine , and knew it!  She is well made like her brother and similar remarks apply. She won this class easily, perhaps less mature than her brother at the moment. 2 Macdonald’s Bensarka Golden Garter. Pleasing red girl , but for me the head was too fine,, but she is nicely made , good forechest, shoulders, forelegs, nice body with plenty of heart room. Stood true. 3 Williams’ Rijobeau Innit to Winnit by Cwmdarhian

JB
(3) 1 Rawson’s Rosenket Opal Essence. B/T in lovely condition and well presented. Fair head, good bite, feminine expression, good reach of neck, shoulders and forechest. Movement was a bit erractic, I think she found the length of the grass a problem 2 Dent’s Phaeland Staria Dancer. Not as mature as one, two months can make quite a difference at this age, attractive bitch with a nice outline and plenty of length of body, and she moved fairly well 3 Gatheral –Graham’s Phaeland Special Duty Was unfortunately lame and was retired.

Special Beginners B
(1) 1 Trafford’s Dabrenhof Sally Forth. Very happy B/T bitch, sailed around the ring with great aplomb in lovely condition. Well put together and very sound, just a little bit high on the leg. Well muscled up, hence nice tight elbows!

PGB
  (4) 1 Gatheral Graham’s Rijobeau League of Honour. A very nice red bitch with a lovely outline. Feminine head and gentle eye, correct bite. Excellent forechest and good shoulder placement, plenty of length to body, great bone, enough spring of rib. Well muscled hindquarters and moved out well. 2 Ellis’ Tealby Tittle Tattle. A pleasing B/T bitch with a lot to like about her, she was balanced and looked good in profile. Nice head, Movement slightly uneven, a bit more muscle on her hindquarters would improve that. 3 McCarthy’s Vomgolf Star Pick for Seatris

LB (4) 1 Hunt’s Lauralee Miss Chokky Wokey at Carpaccio. Chocolate bitch, kind expression. Plenty of reach of neck and good forechest and shoulders. Nice bit of bone all around. She moved soundly going and coming. Enough length although a tad more would give her that extra something. She was more ‘finished’ than two. 2 Tite and Eales’ Rijobeau Matron of Honour. Well presented bitch and very different from above, Although well made she seemed to be more angular, perhaps is taking more time to mature. She moved well, had lovely length of body, plenty of bone, good reach of neck and a good shaped head. Strong hindquarters. 3 Rawson’s Rosenket Melody Maker

OB (5) 1 Cooper’s  Ch Lauralee Coco Pops to Sontag  BCC. Very nice chocolate bitch, litter sister to the limit winner. She is very sound and balanced and is a pleasure to go over. Nicely presented. I see that her sire is the same as the two puppy winners. 2 Turner’s Marictur Uptown Madam (JW) RBCC. Another nice B.T bitch. She was nicely made with plenty of bone, a certain dignity about her, Good head, plenty of neck and length of body. Good forechest and shoulder placement.  3 Macdonald’s Am Ch Hampdach Classic Gold at Bensarka I’m afraid that my notes became a pulpy mess during the last class due to that heavy burst of rain.
