What a perfect venue for a Championship Dog Show, sadly the last time it will be held here. I was very happy with my winners who were all typical of the breed and had excellent front assemblies. While writing my critique I noticed that most of my winners were either from the same kennel or closely related. In general I found the heads to be too broad in the skull, giving them a coarse and plain appearance. Some exhibits were perhaps too heavy. On the positive side all exhibits were immaculately presented with gleaming coats and beautiful clean strong teeth. SPECIAL BEGINNERS D 1 Basha Delsaux Made It Jumbo Band This shaded red yearling dog was handled very well by this exhibitor. He showed himself off to best advantage and kept his top line level on the move. I would have preferred him to be shorter in the loin with better angulation in front and behind. Best Special Beginner 2 Page Giovanni Rude For Kokoadax (Imp Ltu) Another yearling Black/Tan dog whose head I much preferred of the two in this class. He roaches his back and this was exaggerated with his unsettled movement. VD 1 Wedge Peverleigh Autumnal Louis At Dolans A shaded red dog of 7 years. Like many here today his skull is too broad. He has correct eyes and good teeth and his overall shape could be improved if he lost some weight. He moved well keeping a level top line. MPD 1 Garlick Ranglewood Christmas Star Shaded red puppy of 8 months. He has a lovely head and eye and good strong teeth. His neck is of a good length and it flows well into his level top line. He has a good front assembly with a prominent keel and enough ribbing. A baby puppy having fun and all over the place on the move. PD 1 Paskins Kindeace London’s Calling I really liked this dog puppy of 11 months and if there were another RCC he would have had it. He has a classic outline, a prominent keel, a good reach of neck, correct shoulder placement and a good turn of stifle. He has a correct level top line with a rounded rump and a good fall away. His smart feet were tight and well padded. He moved around the ring like he was born to do, with his experienced handler. Though his head is not his fortune, I do hope he is given the chance he deserves. My best puppy. JD 1 O’Neill Ranglewood Pheonix At Donnadach Black/Tan dog with a good head, correct eye and good teeth. He has a prominent keel with good ribbing and a short loin. His top line falls away too steeply at times. He has a reasonable coat and he moved ok. PGD 1 Lacey Abydezi Shades Of Glory Shaded red dog with a reasonable head. Good eye and strong teeth. His overall appearance is too long. He has good ribbing but is long in the loin. He was a bit unsure of himself on the table but got his act together and moved ok. 2 Page Giovanni Rude For Kokoadax (Imp Ltu) 2nd special beginner. LD 1 Taylor & Hilton Delsaux Across The Universe This shaded red dog of three years has a classic outline with a correct front assembly. He has a prominent keel, good ribbing and a short loin. His head is a bit heavy in the skull for me as are quite a few in this breed. His neck flows nicely into his withers and along his top line, his rump is rounded and his tail just finishes off the picture. He has a lovely coat and he moved very well. My Reserve CC winner. 2 Vincent Gainscroft Dashing Duddley Shaded red who is heavier in the skull than one. He has a reasonable outline with moderate keel and enough ribbing. He moved ok around the ring. OD 1 Roberts Swansford Padawanador This dog has a classic outline with a perfect front assembly. His keel is prominent and his sternum travels well under his ribbing. He has a strong short loin and a neat fall away over the rump. His tail is a continuation of his top line and he just glided around the ring on the most beautiful tight well padded feet. His gloriously rich, shaded red coat would be an eye catcher in the Hound group where he achieved Group 4 in one show and Group 2 in the second. An easy winner today. My CC winner and BOB 2 Cross Breezelyn Long Way To Go To Logetta I preferred the more compact outline of my winner. This dog is much longer cast with more length in his loin. He is also plainer in the head than my winner. He has a good keel and plenty of ribbing with his outline flowing from his head down his neck along the top line and tail. He was beautifully presented as always from this exhibitor but he was flagging a bit in the heat and did not move as well as i have seen him in the past. SPECIAL BEGINNERS B 1 West Delsaux Twenty Carat Golden For Kendaalidax. A shaded red bitch puppy with a sweet head and good eye. Her neck flows into her withers and along her top line. She has a prominent keel with decent ribbing. She is longer cast than my second place but she moved well to win her placing. 2 Garlick Ranglewood Katrine This pretty Black Tan bitch had a nice head. She has a prominent keel running into good ribbing and her loin was not overly long. She was feeling the heat today and did not move well. VB 1 Bailey Glasvey Double Trouble For Loggeta A lovely red bitch with a beautiful head, eye and expression. Super teeth for her age. She has a good neck length which just flowed into her withers and along her top line. Her keel is prominent and her sternum is carried well under her. She has good ribbing and she bombed around the ring to take a well deserved RCC. I noticed when writing up that she is not a champion. I find this hard to believe, I hope she gets her title soon. Best Veteran. 2 Wood Faulksfollie Lady Gemima Another with a good head and eye and expression. She has a good outline and is in great shape and condition for a veteran. She was a bit sluggish on the move perhaps just feeling the heat today. MPB 1 Richardson’s no name given. This black/tan puppy has a very feminine head and correct eye. Her ears are set on correctly. Her neck flows into her level top line. She has good ribbing. She could have more angulation in front and in her rear which would be more correct and improve her drive. She was ok on the move. PB 1 Barnicott & Pascoe Fahoogle Minack This Red bitch has a feminine head, a well shaped eye and a good set of teeth. Her ears are too high set. If she had more neck length it would balance out her longer caste body. JB 1 Roberts Swanford Padmeadora Another beautiful exhibit from this kennel. A picture in profile with an elegant neck flowing onto the withers and along the top line. She has a nicely rounded rump. Her keel is prominent and her sternum is a good length. Her head is feminine with almond shaped eyes, and her ears are set on correctly. She has nicely padded feet and good ground clearance which she used to her advantage as she sailed around the ring. Pleased to award her the CC. 2 Garlick Ranglewood Andromeda This shaded red bitch has a beautiful head almond shaped eyes and her ears set on correctly. She is longer caste than my winner. She has a prominent keel and good ribbing. Her feet are tight and well padded and she has good ground clearance. She kept her level top line as she moved elegantly around the ring. PGB This bitch unfortunately was lame and the owner withdrew her from competition. LB 1 Reid Cavallibrook One Final Kiss At Maudaxi This pretty red bitch has a lovely head and eye and correct set on ears. She has a classic outline with a prominent keel and ok ribbing. She moved the best in the class. 2 Metcalfe-Bilgin Metadale Merengue This red bitch has a pretty head and good eye. There is a pleasing flow down her neck over her shoulders and part way along her top line, but she rises a bit too high over her loin. She has a prominent keel and good ribbing. I feel that she was finding the heat of the day a challenge and therefore did not give of her best on the move.
