My thanks to Leeds for giving me the opportunity to judge Longhairs at this years show, and to my stewards for their help on the day. I enjoyed the day and was pleased with the entry and my overall winners. Today the depth of quality in dogs was better than bitches. I found some a tad bigger than my ideal and size needs to be watched. Some loins were longer than desired. All were shown in excellent coat and condition and temperaments were lovely.

PD (3) 1 Dare's Swansford Lionellador Darsoms. Super quality red boy of 9 mths, lovely for size and type who is well constructed throughout and was an easy winner. Loved his conical head and expression with lovely dark eyes and good ear set, he has well filled front, good ribbing that go well back with good top and underlines, well angulated quarters, good bone and neat feet, moved soundly away and back with a free, easy stride in profile. A confident youngster who has a lovely flat coat and was well presented. Must have a bright future. BP. 2 Mager's Humberdax Pass The Cash. Choc/dapple, just 6 mths, at his first show and very much a baby. Out of a smaller mould but all in proportion, pleasing head and expression, enough neck, well angulated front and rear, moved parallel away and back and showed well. Still needs to grow on and mature. 3 Garlick's Ranglewood Harvest Song.

JD (2) 1 Dare's Darsoms Zybrox. This 16 mth old well constructed sh/red presents a smart outline both standing and on the move. He has a strong masculine head, good neck and shoulder and a firm well conditioned body, super forechest, well sprung ribbing and well muscled rear, moved soundly, still needs to tighten a tad in front, but has a really good stride and drives well from his strong short hocks. 2 Metcalfe's Bilgin Metadale Mateus. A lot to like about this promising 13 mth sh/red, of a lovely size and shape, but at present is still very immature. Attractive head and dark eye, good neck, front and ribbing. His loin is a tad long but his rear is well angulated. At present he still needs to body up and develop more muscle. Moved out smartly in lovely coat and condition. Just needs more time to fulfil his potential.

PGD Close decision. 1 Lewis' Trixhund Opium. Smart red of a pleasing size, liked his overall make and shape, lovely conical headpiece, dark eye and good ear set, balanced angulation fore and aft, good spring of rib, short strong loin and well angulated quarters, really strides out on the move and keeping a good topline. In lovely coat and condition, happy enthusiastic showman. 2 Burke & Manston's Wardax Indian Summer Bonavoir. Smart sh/red who again pleased for overall shape and size, pleasing to go over. Lovely houndy head, good reach of neck, long ribbing and well angulated quarters, moved soundly away and back and freely in profile. Not quite the animation or rear drive of first today, but liked him a lot. 3 Rodrigues' Darsoms Zydexta.

LD (2) 1 Rodrigues' Darsoms Zantor. Elegant shaded red of a pleasing make and shape, attractive conical head and enough neck, balanced angulation fore and aft, long ribbing, well made rear with good bone and neat feet, moved soundly away and back and covered the ground well keeping a good topline. 2 Chapman's Melminds Zsylvester. Attractive 4 yr old, dark sh/red who presents a smart outline, soundly constructed with well filled front, nice depth and length of rib, well angulated quarters, moved freely with good rear drive. Close decision, just preferred head and size of first. Lovely coat and condition.

OD (6) 1 Boyle's Zarcrest Hugo Boss. Impressive deep red lad of 5 yrs who has a look of class and quality about him. Appealed for size and type is well balanced and beautifully put together. He has a handsome masculine head, reachy neck and proud head carriage, good bone and thick well padded feet. His construction is excellent with well filled oval front, good upper arm and snug fitting elbows, long ribbing and short, strong loin, good rear angulation, he holds himself so well on the move, absolutely true away and back with excellent reach and drive in profile. He has both style and presence, well presented with a lovely flat coat and in super muscular condition. Pleased to award him CC and BOB. 2 Lewis' Trixhund Euphoria JW ShCM. Attractive 3 yr old sh/red boy of a pleasing size and type, loved his well shaped masculine head and expression, good ear set, lengthy neck into firm topline, well filled forechest, ribs are well sprung and his loin fairly short, strong, well muscled rear, good bone and neat feet, not as good in front construction as first, but on the move he really uses his strong rear to drive around the ring, he has an excellent head carriage, was well presented and has a lovely temperament. 3 Garlick's Ranglewood Arashi.

VD (1) 1 Mitchell's Bronia Lotario JW. Hard to believe this super quality lad is almost 8 yrs. Elegant sh/red who presents a very smart outline with excellent conformation and balanced angulation fore and aft, handsome masculine head, dark eye and pleasing expression, nicely arched neck, good shoulder and well filled oval front, long ribbing, good bone and feet, well angulated rear with low set hocks, moved out soundly and freely with good reach and drive. I liked his proud head carriage and style, well presented and in super flat coat. RCC and Best Veteran.

PB (2) 1 Mitchell's Bronia Supernatural. Delightful red baby of 8 mths who had immediate appeal, very elegant and feminine, of a pleasing make and shape and lovely to go over. Beautiful head and darkest of eyes, well constructed throughout with balanced angulation front and rear, good neck and length of ribbing, moved out soundly with a good stride in profile, still needs to tighten a tad in front but a real quality girl who must have a rosy future. Well presented and handled. 2 Lewis' Trixhund Black Opium. Pleasing b/t girl of just 7 mths and still very much a baby. She is nicely put together with attractive head and pleasing expression, well filled front and good ribbing, well angulated rear but I would have liked slightly shorter hocks. At present is still very immature and needs time to strengthen and firm up all round, moved out smartly and freely.

JB (3) 1 Dare's Darsoms Zeunice. Lovely red of 16 mths, quality girl who is soundly constructed with lots to like and very smart in outline. Her head is well shaped and carried on a reachy neck, well laid shoulder and good upper arm, long ribbing and fairly short loin, well made rear, good bone and neat feet, moved soundly away and back with good forward reach and freedom in profile. Most promising young lady in lovely coat and condition. Pleased to award her RCC. 2 Metcalfe-Bilgin's Metadale Marcella. Another promising youngster, red of 13 mths, lovely for size and type, sweet feminine head which I preferred to first, dark eye and pleasing expression, well balanced fore and aft, good spring to ribs and well angulated rear. Tends to sink slightly on the stack but was sympathetically handled to get the best out of her. On the move she holds a good topline and strides out freely. 3 Paskin's Tarritoriya Lubi Vesna At Kindeace (Imp).

PGB (2) 1 Chapman's Melminds Miss Cilla Black. Well made b/t who has a profuse coat that somewhat masks her attributes, pleased for size and outline, firm in body with prominent forechest and good ribbing, feminine head and nice expression, moved out freely keeping a good shape. 2 Lumley's Tarramist Tsarine. Well presented red in lovely coat and condition. Attractive head, eye and ears well set, her front construction is good, nice depth to rib, moved smartly but runs up a tad in rear.

LB (4) 1 Metcalfe-Bilgin's Metadale Midsummer Dream. This elegant three and a half yr old sh/red is utterly feminine and of a pleasing size and shape, liked her smooth flowing outline, most attractive head, dark eye and sweet expression, good neck and shoulder and good depth to ribbing, well angulated quarters, lovely coat and condition, moved soundly up and down and freely in profile. Liked her a lot. 2 Clarke's Tekalhaus Million To One ShCM. Well made red of two and a half yrs who pleased for type and balance and presented a smart outline, attractive conical head, good shoulder, well knit body with good ribbing and short loin and good rear angulation, stands on well padded feet, moved soundly with good rear drive, just preferred head and neck of first. 3 Garlick's Ranglewood Laurel.

OB (4) Close decision between two lovely girls. 1 Paskin's Kindeace Rita Ora ShCM. This very feminine red girl is the daughter of my CC and very similar in size and type. Liked her make and shape and pleasing to go over. She has an attractive head with dark eyes and lovely expression, strong neck into well laid shoulder and firm topline, good angulation fore and aft. In lovely coat and condition, moved soundly with both reach and drive. In the challenge, was just a shade close behind on the wet grass, but a lovely prospect. 2 Cook & Rhodes' Ch Bournder Ruby Empress. This quality sh/red is well constructed throughout and has a lovely clean cut outline. Attractive head and pleasing expression, firm, well knit body, ribbing carried well back and good rear angulation and moved with an easy stride. In excellent condition with gleaming flat coat and has an excellent head carriage.

VB (1) 1 Paskin's Abydachs Summer Dream At Kindeace ShCM. This most attractive and elegant red had immediate appeal and is looking really good for her 7 yrs. She is very feminine of an ideal size with a lovely outline and neat all through. Has a beautiful shaped head, dark eye and pleasing expression, carried on a nicely arched neck into good shoulders, well filled front with close fitting elbows and ribbing that go well back, good rear angulation. Moved out freely with a good stride, was true away and back and carried herself so well. Pleased to award her the CC.
