VD (6, 1abs)

A super class of veterans. All with excellent clean teeth, super temperament and presentation.

1. Paskins’ Cedavoch It’s Taboo at Kindeace VW

Well presented 8 year old dog in great condition. The best of shoulders and ribbing presenting such a balanced overall picture. Moved with real drive showing his pads. Best Veteran and Best Veteran in Show

2. Eve’s Sundayshill Benedict

Another lovely veteran dog with so much to like about him. He presented a very balanced picture both standing and on the move. Both these veterans could challenge younger dogs any time.

3. Garlick’s Ranglewood Trick or Treat

PD (2)

Two very different puppies with much to like about both. My comments are as I saw them on the day, and I am sure they will change places as they develop.

1. Parrott and Clifton’s Davydon Ocean Breeze

10 month old red. Well presented with tight elbows and a well developed forechest, good length of upper arm and adequate length of ribbing with good rear angulation. This was another puppy giving its handler a hard time, but when he got it together he presented a very balanced picture and moved with excellent reach and drive.

2. Copper and Hendren’s Bronia Leonardo

Extremely well presented and handled 8 month old puppy. Excellent forechest, good length of upper arm and well placed shoulders. Short coupled with well let down hocks. These were two lovely puppies at different stages of development. A very hard decision. I just felt 1 had the edge on the day.

JD (2)

1. Garlick’s Ranglewwod Christmas Star

Beautifully presented 18 month old dog. Excellent forechest and front angulation. Good length of ribbing and hind angulation. Moved with excellent reach and drive around the ring. Strongly considered for best dog.

2. Parrott and Clifton’s Davydon Ocean Breeze

PGD (1)

1. Paskin’s KindeaceLondon’s Calling

Another very well presented dog from this kennel. Super head and excellent forechest and depth of keel. Good rear angulation. Moved well even though he was a bit fond of his tail which did affect his outline on the move.

LD (2)

1. Wedge’s Dolan The Last Time

Upstanding well balanced masculine dog in excellent condition. Good head, excellent depth of forechest and front angulations . Well ribbed back and correct hind angulation. Really moved with purpose around the ring keeping an excellent topline

2. Paskin's Delsaux Life Goes on at Kindeace

Another well presented young dog from this kennel. Excellent front and depth of keel with good shoulder placement and length of upper arm. Well angulated behind. I just preferred the overall balance of 1 on the move today.

OD (2)

Two excellent dogs and a hard decision

1. Fricker’s Sundayshill Theodore at Borsdac

Excellent upstanding masculine dog who excelled in his movement. Correct shoulder placement, tight elbows and good length of upper arm. Well ribbed back and correct rear angulations. He presented a very balanced profile when moving with good reach and drive. Best Dog and Best of Breed

2. Paskin’s Kindeace Hit the Road Jack JW

Another very good dog from this kennel. Masculine head with good length of neck. Excellent shoulder placement with correct length of upper arm. Well ribbed back leading to a firm loin and correct rear angulation. Moved with good drive around the ring. On the day I just preferred the overall balance of 1 on the move.

PB (2)

1. Clarke’s Briarmist Fire and Ice to Teckelhaus (Imp)

Lovely confident 9 month old red girl. Well presented and handled with a beautiful straight and silky coat. Head developing well. Good length of neck flowing into excellent shoulder placement with correct length of upper arm. Well ribbed back with a strong firm loin and good rear angulation. She moved out with excellent drive around the ring holding her topline. Best Puppy Bitch and Reserve Best Puppy in Show

2. Wilkinson and Wakeham’s Bronia Letizia for Wakywilks NAF TAF

An 8 month old black and tan girl. Correct shoulder placement and well ribbed back with a short and strong loin. She was giving her handler a bit of a hard time on the move, but she is only a baby and has plenty time to develop as I am sure she will.

JB (1)

1. Clarke’s Briarmist Fire and Ice to Teckelhaus (Imp)

PGB (3, 1abs)

2. Eve’s Sundayshill Savannah

Another really nice bitch. Litter sister to the Best of Breed. Feminine head with good reach of neck. Excellent shoulder placement and good length of ribbing and rear angulation. Moved well keeping a strong topline.

LB (4)

1. Garlick’s Kyrenia Queens Request with Ranglewood

Beautiful bitch. Good shoulders and excellent length of ribbing with correct rear angulation. Moved well around the ring with excellent reach and drive. Best Bitch

2. Paskins’ Kindeace You Wear It Well

Another super bitch from this kennel. Good head and expression, excellent forechest with correct front and rear angulations. Well presented and handled. Just preferred the overall balance of 1 on the move today

1. Stark’s Ch. Adnerbs Won Vision of Gobannium JW OSW

What a super veteran and a credit to her owner. Beautifully constructed, lovely reach of neck flowing into super shoulders. Which together with her excellent rear angulation enabled her to simply flow around the ring. Best Veteran in Breed

2. Macdonald’s Don Pedro 11 Das Terras Do Cannis Lupus

Of a different type, but still lots to like about him. At 8 years old beginning to show his age a bit. Compact, with good head and expression and, once he started to move, he did so with enthusiasm.

PD (1)

1. Starkey’s Fredanna Moonlight Cypres at Hamoura

A very outgoing and friendly puppy which is so lovely to see. Deep forechest with super length of neck and shoulder placement and good length of ribbing. He was so exuberant it was quite hard to assess his movement but when he settled he moved out holding his topline well. Best Puppy in Breed

LD (1abs)

OD (1)

1. Rycroft’s Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah at Trisensara JW ShCEx OSW

A super upstanding B/T dog that I have judged before. Excellent forechest, good depth of keel and correct lay of shoulder. Well ribbed back with a strong loin leading into well angulated hind quarters. Moved absolutely true with excellent reach and drive keeping a correct topline throughout. Challenged very hard for BOB. Best Dog

JB (1)

1. Rycroft’s Chidax Sahara Sand by Trisensara.

Another I judged before as a baby and she has developed well. Very feminine bitch with lovely head and expression. Excellent forechest with good length of neck flowing into correct shoulder placement and well ribbed back. Presenting a lovely outline when stacked. Moved well keeping a correct topline.

OB (2)

Two very nice bitches

1. Stark’s Gobannian Maid of Honour JW

Loved this bitch. She was elegant and balanced both stacked and on the move. Lovely feminine head, almond eye and good reach of neck flowing into her excellent shoulder placement. Well ribbed back with a short strong loin. Moved with reach and drive holding her topline all the way. A close decision for BOB, just preferred her overall balance on the move for BOB. Best Bitch and BOB

2. Rycroft’s Chidax Sahara Sand By Trisensara JW

Another super bitch from this kennel. Well made throughout. Lovely head and expression. Excellent reach of neck flowing into her super shoulder placement. Well ribbed back with strong short loin. Two lovely bitches just preferred the overall balance of 1 on the move today.

Thank you for such a lovely entry.

Temperaments were excellent although a few gave their handlers a hard time! A few general observations: several dogs had long nails, and a few were quite “out at elbow” and, sometimes, movement was hard to assess as the dogs were either continually shaking their heads or “crabbing” when walking up and down the mat.

I had some extremely challenging decisions to make, and I judged the dogs as I saw them on the day so, on another day, decisions could well have been different.

I was delighted to see my Standard Long Haired Puppy awarded Reserve Best Puppy in Show and my Standard Long Haired Veteran be awarded Best Veteran in Show under our BIS Judge Carole Worswick.

BP D/B (1abs)

VD (1abs)

PGD (1)

1. Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel Hartnell

Good head, expression and reach of neck. Would prefer a bit more forechest with tighter elbows. Good length of ribbing and strong loin. Moved well holding his topline.

LD (1)

1. Sanders’ Knottsrose Olaf

Well presented upstanding young dog with excellent bone. Loved his reach of neck, good lay of shoulder and length of ribbing. Maybe a slightly higher tail set than I would like? Moved true keeping an excellent topline. Best Dog

OD (1)

1. Clayton-Smith’s Cairparavel Hartnell (repeat of PG)

PB (2)

1. Buxton’s Cloudside Xena

A real baby at 8 months old. I think this was her first show. Lovely head and expression, excellent bone. Forechest really beginning to develop with a good lay of shoulder. Moved true both coming and going keeping her topline Best Puppy in Breed

2. Tibb’s Totalfox Judy

Another real baby at just 6 months. Longer on the leg than 1 and needs to body up. A lovely outgoing puppy that needs time to develop.

JB (2,1abs)

1. Pugh and Fraser’s Stanegate Sonia

Just out of puppy but what a lovely well presented bitch. The best of shoulders and excellent length of upper arm. Ribbed well back with a strong loin. Excellent rear angulations and moved with real reach and drive around the ring. Best Bitch and Best of Breed

PGB (1)

1. Buxton’s Hazelglade Harriet

A lovely well-proportioned 2 year old bitch. Good depth of chest and ribbed well back giving a very balanced picture especially when on the move.

LB (1)

1. Buxton’s Wyldetarn Ado

A well presented 3 year old bitch. Lovely head and expression, good length of ribbing and a strong loin. Just lacking in hind angulation which affected her topline and a bit high on the leg for me, but this did enable her to move with enthusiasm around the ring

OB (1)

 1. Hutchings Ch Collidach Raynee Day JW

This bitch has the best of shoulders with tight elbows, excellent ribbing and well angulated hind quarters which were used to effect in her movement. A really lovely bitch who challenged hard for BOB. I just felt that the winner of JB had the edge on the day.
