My first time awarding CC’s in this variety. May I thank the Miniature Club for their invitation to judge and the exhibitors for bringing an excellent entry of high quality dogs for me to judge, I had some difficult decisions particularly in the bitch classes.
Veteran Dog or Bitch .
1st.Black’sCh Bassodon Bilibie. Well balanced dog with well shaped head. Moved out well showing good rear extension. A credit to his owners. Best veteran in Breed.
2nd Hayward’s Foxearth Foto Copy. Well-made champion and different in type to first, moved out well but just showing her age on the move today.
3rd. Kirkwood’s Ubu Isla at Helydon.
Minor Puppy Dog
Two attractive puppies that have much to offer the breed.
1st.Russells Russteck Wyre in the Blood. Lovely type presenting a good overall picture slightly taller on the leg with good sturdy bones and neat feet, Correct ratios of height to length with good fore chest and length of ribbing giving correct top line and underline. Good harsh coat texture, confident mover with pleasing side profile.
2nd Jone's Bimini Hot Chocolate, Good head with lovely expression, with dark eyes and correct pigmentation for his
colour. Well arched neck leading to well laid shoulders and good forechest.Longer in body than first but maintains his
top line on the move, well developed hind quarters which he uses well on the move.
3rd Garrity’s Russteck Wyred For Sound.
Puppy Dog (3) 1 Abs
1st Thorn Andrew's Drakesleat The Real Thing, Good Overall Balance and shape. Well placed shoulders and prosternum
leading to good length of keel and length of ribbing. Held a correct top line and underline on the move. Presented a
lovely profile on the move. Best Puppy Dog
2nd Russells Russteck Wyre in the Blood, 1st in previous class, Preferred overall type of first in this class
Junior Dog (2)
1st Hayward & Howells Fallowmill Cambera, Just out of puppy and needs to drop into his frame. Attractive typical wire head carried on good length of neck. Would prefer more layback of shoulder and more hind angulation. Good top line and underline when stacked but tended to run up at the rear on the move.
2nd Rigby's Waldmeister George, Good head and length of neck, Like the first looked good stacked but shorter in ribbing and longer in loin and not so positive on the move as first. Crisply textured coat well presented.
1st Jone's Bimini Starstruck, Pleasing type with no exaggeration and balanced throughout. Typical head and expression carried on good neck and leading to correctly constructed front and rear assembly. Good harsh coat and condition which showed in his sound movement.
2nd Howells, Fallowmill Sydney, Well grown young dog not long out of puppy. Good head and expression carried on good neck and strong shoulders leading to good front construction and length of ribbing and good hindquarters. Moved out well coming and going just tending to rise at the rear on the move and not as one with his handler as I have seen him.
Post Graduate Dog (2)
1st Howells, Fallowmill Sydney, Second in previous class, and more co-operative and settled in this class.
2nd Smith's Alpheratz Ulises. (Imp Esp) Lovely head and expression ,carried proudly on a good length of neck, not the angulation of first and lacking in prosternum. Good length of ribbing and hard body condition, taller on the leg and movement not as positive as first.
Limit Dog (3)
1st Thorn Andrews, Drakesleat JP Onice in a Blue Moon, Nothing exaggerated about this young man who just exudes the breed standard and type. Lovely expressive head with dark eyes and correct muzzle to skull ratios. Good neck length flowing into well laid shoulders with good prosternum and oval front. Correct top line maintained when moving, complimented by correct underline. Moved around the ring with free flowing strides projecting a lovely outline coming and going as well as in profile. A very exciting prospect for the future. RCC
2nd Shone's Strax Gogol (Imp Swe) Dark Brindle just out of junior with good head and expression. Good length of neck and correct fore quarters and length of ribbing which helps maintain his correct top line. Hindquarters not as good as the fore and although he moves freely tends to move wide behind. Good harsh Coat.
3rd Smith's Bingobongo Gregory
Open Dog (4)
1st Hayward's Foxearth Fiddler on the Roof, Red Dog with superb harsh red coat. Good head with correct ratios and typical wire expression. Well arched long neck that flows into correctly laid shoulders with excellent forechest and length of ribbing. Good top and underline held on the move lead into well formed and muscled hindquarters which power him along. Perfectly true coming and going ,his profile movement shows his reach of stride front and rear extension. He is truly a workmanlike mini wirehaired dachshund. A pleasure to award him the CC.
2nd Rose's Ch Ridanflight Ricardo, Well constructed dog with many good virtues, well shaped head and neck leading to well constructed shoulders and front assembly. Good length of ribbing and short loins connected to strong hindquarters. Not as positive on the move going away and in profile as first.
