MINIATURE WIRE

 I felt very privileged to be assessing the Mini Wires with CCs for the first time at this club show and thank the Officers and committee for inviting me. The entry of 88 had 17 absentees which is excellent and I thank exhibitors for their support and for the sporting manner in which my decisions were accepted. In general my impressions were very favourable. Although movement varied, particularly hind action, all were fit for function.  Heads varied somewhat and a few had prominent or light eyes.  General condition and coats were excellent, a couple were underweight but not excessively. Temperaments were exemplary. PD (3) 1 Fultons Bothlyn Brigadoon, compact and robust with excellent muscle and outline, length to head, moderate stop, oval eye, soundly constructed, topline to settle, BP.  2 Thorn-Andrews Drakesleat Round Robin, really promising and completely clean, very well constructed and a super sound mover, not yet the body of 1. 3 Hunts His Terricle. JD (6,2) 1 Kugow & Holts Waldmeister Johnson, impressive winner in excellent nick, length to head with break about right, lively expression, well built front, well ribbed with body and quarters to suit, quality harsh coat, tail carriage spoilt outline on the move. 2 Warrens Grackles Starry Eyed, similar type, not quite as finished as 1, pleasing head, moderate stop, length to neck, pleasing topline and quarters, moved well. 3 Hardys Kushwin Incognito. PGD (5,2) 1 Hassalls Stargang Vegas Strip, represents the standard very well, length to head, dark well placed eye, reach to neck, depth to keel, reasonable topline, muscular well shaped quarters, moved very well with good tailset and carriage, coat harsh enough, well turned out.  2 Phillips Curtisey Boogy Woogy, unlucky in earlier class, outline improved with time, compact frame of considerable quality and an honest mover. 3 Wrights Waldmeister Siegfied. LD (4,1) 1 Howells Fallowmill Back and Fetch, active, perky, well constructed and turned out, expressive head, firm well placed shoulder, depth to brisket, sound limbs, well ribbed and back, shapely hindquarters, moved well with correct carriage. 2 Punters Welcumen Jeremy, pleased for type, very nicely constructed, just not quite the confident action of 1 although sound. 3 Kugow & Holts Waldmeister Samuel. OD (9,1) 1 Thorn-Andrews Ch Drakesleat Win A Lot, convincing winner and a super specimen, length to balanced head, dark eye, naughty expression, loved his forehand, legs and feet, pleasing topline, quarters and muscle, excelled on the move with excellent drive and superb deportment, CC & BOB. 2 Blackburn-Bennett & Kuranovas Stargang Tigers Eye, close on the heels of 1, clean expressive head, reach to neck, deep keel, level back, well ribbed and back enough, shape to quarters and a good mover, harsh coat well turned out, RCC. 3 Dances Deepdax Overdraft Too Far Emem. MPB (9,1) 1 Howells Fallowmill On The Button, raw baby but so well built, lovely head, lacks confidence but moved enough to display sound action, correct coat coming. 2 Kugow & Holts Stargang Vera Wang Bei Waldmeister, very feminine and a most convincing mover with excellent carriage,  beautifully built but needs more body, harsh coat well turned out. 3 Dances Emem Candy Sunshine. PB (9,2) 1 Shones Hanishan Eau Classique, feminine and quite special and I loved her, totally sound in construction and encapsulated the breed, just gave a little in topline, super sound mover superbly turned out.  2 Howells Fallowmill On The Button. 3 Haywards Foxearth Fiddle De Dee. JB (13,3) 1 Marston-Teals Lordscairnie Love Life, totally honest, clean cut and business like, lean head, dark well placed eye, chest developing, ribs sprung and back, muscular shapely quarters, convincing mover with an air of importance. 2 Thorn-Andrews Drakesleat Ott Favourite, very feminine, compact and very soundly constructed, marginally favoured eye of 1, length to neck, deep keel, lovely topline, tailset and carriage, muscular quarters, impressive mover, quality harsh coat. 3 Mcleod & Hassalls Janjac Mac Zeen. PGB (12,2) 1 Prices Samlane Zaffiro, feminine and maturing very well, projects a lovely outline, clean from head to toe, sound in build and movement, harsh coat presented to advantage. 2 Hoopers Stahill Twelth Night, well up to 1, length to head with break and dark eye just right, enough reach to neck, depth to developed chest, reasonable topline, muscular quarters, moved well. 3 Dunns Ashridge Dun Dustine. LB (10,3) 1 Hardys Kushwin Firefly, feminine and honest in construction, clean head, enough neck, chest developing, good topline, tailset and carriage, useful quarters and a steady mover, harsh well turned out coat. 2 Haywards Foxearth Feeling, ultra feminine of pleasing type, well turned out, just preferred shorter loin of 1, shape to muscular quarters, moved well. 3 Kays Kaytian Lady Guinevere. OB (11,1) 1 Blackburn-Bennetts Stargang Lady Gaga, very feminine with the loveliest head and eye, arched neck, well appointed front with foreleg placement spot on, well ribbed and back, excellent topline, tailset and quarters, moved superbly with arrogant carriage, CC. 2 Thorn-Andrews Drakesleat Mass Wisteria, pleasing for type, profile construction and soundness, harsh coat presented to full advantage, well handled but not quite the confidence of 1. 3 Thorn-Andrews Drakesleat Rupee Wax.
