DACHSHUND(MINIATURE WIRE-HAIRED)

A few more to go over here and nice to have a good selection of puppies. There was one not so good bite.

PUPPY DOG ( 2 entries)

Two seven month dark brindle brothers, very similar and with good proportions, eye shape and colour were correct. Harsh jackets as required. Differences may well be due to different rates of development so I would not be surprised if they changed places frequently.

1ST Fulton’s BOTHLYN BRIGADOON- this boy had a better sternum and therefore front assembly, also he had  bit more confidence and moved freely as a result. B.P.D. and R.B.D.

2nd Waldie’s BOTHLYN SYMPHONY- not got the demeanour of his brother as yet, and needs to develop more in front.

JUNIOR DOG ( 1 entry)

1ST Whitehouse’ DRAKESLEAT OTTO THIS WORLD- 11 months typy boy who was a little shy today so not quite putting all into his performance. His outline was pleasing and his proportions good. He struck me as a bit short in foreface as yet but that will come. In correct jacket he moved out parallel and quite freely.

POST GRADUATE DOG (1 entry)

1st Otter’s  PORTALUTRA DE FI ANT- chocolate with corresponding coloured nose and eyes, his head carriage and general deportment were good. His head was of correct shape and his proportions were 2 to 1. His ground clearance gave him plenty of ability to move well. I thought him a little close in front but he had terrific hind action. Would like a little more strength in loin, ideally. B.D.

OPEN DOG (1 entry, 1 absent)

PUPPY BITCH (3 entries)

1st Whitehouse’ RIOBAN FINE FINNISH- real houndy young brindle  with a lovely tapering , balanced head and  almond eye.Great expression. The shape of her shoulder assembly was particularly good and the quarters matched.Pleasing coat and condition. Moved well, in Dachshund fashion and held topline both stacked and on the move. B.P. and R.B.B.

2nd Stephenson’s BERRYRUUD MRS PEPPERPOT- although this youngster was a little wary and could benefit from a wee bit less hair, she had a good jacket, and balanced head with good eyes. Body shape appeared correct though her a tail was a bit high on movement.

3rd Feetham’s KIMBLEHOLME SOLITAIRE.

JUNIOR BITCH (1 entry)

1st Kirkwood’s- HELYDON CALEDONIAN CRACKER-brindle with good head shape though perhaps eyes a little round, but full of expression.  Plenty of ground clearance, just need to develop a bit more in front. Good length of rib and moved

 very actively.

POST GRADUATE BITCH ( 1 entry, 1 absent)

LIMIT BITCH (1 entry)

1st Feetham’s RUSSTECK MELODY AT KIMBLEHOLME-black and tan who pleased for forefront and topline, though maybe a wee bit too much depth of chest. Moved absolutely true coming and going with plenty of activity. In good coat.

OPEN BITCH (3 entries, 1 absent)

1st Fulton’s CH. BOTHLYN PENNY BLACK- beautiful mature black and tan presented in fabulous order, there is no doubt this bitch has the presence of a Champion. Her head was balanced and great eye and expression, angulation fore and aft complemented each other and her head carriage and topline on the move were correct. I have to say though, under the new breed standard I would like to see her with a bit more ground clearance. That said, a very worthy B.B. and B.O.B.

2nd Whitehouse’ RIOBAN LADY GUINEVER- very well presented light brindle bitch, who pleased in outline and moving but just lacking a little in forechest for me.
