MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED

A great pleasure to judge Min Wires at this prestigious show held at Stoneleigh. The atmosphere round the ring was excellent and I greatly enjoyed judging the breed where I found the quality higher overall in the bitches. I was very pleased with my winners and felt they combined most of the breed characteristics. Mouths in particular, but also temperaments and tail carriage need to be watched. MPD (4, 2) 1 Howell's Fallowmill Webley, excellent type, very good head and eye, perfect mouth, really lovely expression, sound legs and feet, good body, ok coat, moved ok, just needs to gain more confidence. 2. Puckett's Foxearth Free as a Bird, hard coated masculine puppy showing really well for his age, front must improve and not as pleasing in eye and expression as the winner. Very outgoing temperament. PD (2) 1 Howell's Fallowmill Webley. 2 Payton's Marajo Harris Tweed, very hard coated young dog with excellent body and good head, a little square in outline and front not his fortune, good bone, excellent temperament. JD (3) 1 Kugow & Holt's Waldmeister Samuel, showy youngster of excellent type, very good outline, really good head and eye and he carries his tail correctly, hard coat in good order, would have preferred more length of upper arm which also reflects in his movement, assertive, happy showman. 2. Howells's Fallowmill Back and Fetch, lovely type of dog looking really well standing, very good front, head and eye, coat could be harder and tail carriage not his fortune, happy shower moving well – could not get past his tail when it came to placing this class. 3. Neate's Beaucat Exfactor. PGD (3). Difficult class to judge where temperaments worried me. 1 Whitehouse's Drakesleat Ottoff the Press, lovely typ and correct outline, really good head and eye, very good body and sound rear with good angulation and short hocks, front could be better and coat harder, moved ok. 2 Moore's Danvichar Euphrasia, a little stronger in build all through than the winner with good topline, coat and legs and feet, would have preferred a better layback of shoulder with more pleasing run in of neck, masculine head, eye could be darker, goes well. 3. Adams's Angelholm Figaro. LD (5, 1) 1 Thorn-Andrews's Drakesleat Otto the Scent, beautifully constructed dog with good head and eye, perfect mouth and really good front and rear, excellent set on of neck, good body, coat and outline, excels in movement and literally glides round the ring keeping his topline at all times, needs a little more confidence but did enough to win the Res CC on his many outstanding qualities. 2. Dance's Deepdax Overdraft too Far Enem, showy, strongly made dog who could be a little cleaner in neck and shoulders and head is a little strong, very good body, harsh coat in good order, moves with good drive coming and going. 3. Adams's Angelholm Figaro. OD (9, 4) 1 Thorn-Andrews's Ch Drakesleat Winalot, top quality dog in grand coat and condition with beautiful outline, really good neck and shoulders, excellent body and topline, sound rear, masculine head, perfect mouth, has great style and presence and he is living proof that it is possible for a shortlegged dog to move with drive and precision provided they are made right. CC & BOB and later in the day BIS overall. 2 Blackburn-Bennet's Ch Stargang Malachite, another good dog with beautiful neck and shoulders, very good body, harsh coat in excellent order, shows really well and comes towards you very soundly, would have liked him a little more positive behind going away, excellent legs and feet. 3. Black's Bassodon Bilbie. MPB (5) 1 Rose & Williams's Tythe Crystal Maze, very stylish quality puppy who handles beautifully on the table, lovely head and eye, good neck and topline, excellent coat, shows really well, a little proud of her tail at times and front movement needs to settle. 2 Kirkwood's Helydon Caledonian Cracker, another good puppy with very good front and body, good legs and feet, sound rear, good coat and she moved well, fails a little in head and expression. 3 Howells's Fallowmill Purdy. PB (6) 1 Thorn-Andrews's Drakesleat Mass Wisteria, lovely puppy of beautiful type with correct outline, good head just a little full in eye, scores in neck and shoulders, sound legs and feet, good body and rear, very good hard coat in excellent condition easy, free mover as one would expect from her conformation. Best Puppy with a bit to spare. 2 Helydon Caledonian Cracker, see previous class. 3 Holgate's Nadavin Struana. JB (9, 2) Difficult class to judge with many good bitches, but with great variation in type. 1 Meredith's Deepdax Credit Crunch, outstanding young bitch of lovely make & shape, excellent head and eye with really good expression, sound legs and feet, good topline, body and rear, presented in first class coat and condition and moved well holding her topline perfectly, I liked her very much indeed and it gave me great pleasure awarding her the bitch CC. 2 Horswell's Drakeleat No Stone Unturn'd, another very good bitch of excellent type, very well constructed and particularly pleasing in neck and shoulders, feminine head, good eye, excellent body and outline, hard top coat, moved well, still needs time to reach her full potential, easy fluid mover. 3 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Lady Gaga. PGB (14, 5) Yet another class with great variation. 1 Poxon's Kapodach Izzi Miyaki, very typical well made bitch that is very correct to go over, very good head and expression, perfect mouth, good body, front and rear, moves soundly, rather short of coat on the day,but what was there was of excellent texture, has to be handled to be appreciated fully. 2. Walker's Deepdax In The Red at Roselle, another very good bitch with pleasing head, very good coat and body, excellent topline, front not her fortune, needs a little more ground clearance in the front, moves soundly. 3 Dunn's Barratini Bumble at Ashridge. LB (13, 4) 1 Hardy's Kushwin Humbug, very sound honest bitch that handles really well, scores in front, neck and shoulders, pleasing head and expression, very good coat, could be a little more positive behind, showed well. 2 McLeod's Sidelock Do I Look Bevvered, very showy feminine bitch of excellent type, presented well, pleasing head, good front, topline could be stronger and rear movement more parallel, just a shade overtrimmed. 3 Holgate's Drakesleat Bahn the Bomb. OB (10, 1) 1 Hayward's Ch Foxearth Foto Copy, all quality bitch with pin-wire coat in pristine condition, good feminine head, really dark eye, excellent neck and shoulders, very good strong topline, sound rear, moved well, I liked her a lot despite standing a little lower than I prefer. Res CC. 2 Dance's Ir Ch Emem Sunny Spells, another very good bitch of excellent type, very well constructed throughout and she was an active happy mover, sound fore and aft standing on good legs and feet, coat of excellent texture but not quite in the condition of the winner, eye could have been a little darker. 3 Thorn-Andrews's Drakesleat Sally Forf. VB (1) 1 Dance's Dacatec Mindyaspeasncues Emem, almost 10 ys old and one could never tell!! Bouncing round the ring enjoying her day out – very assertive and typical and in lovely coat. Good head , pleasing outline and very sound on the move. Best Veteran.
