Many thanks to the Committee for their hospitality and to the exhibitors for the super entry. It was nice to be able to make the most of a large ring and really see the dogs move. I last judged the breed in 1997 and found that they have changed dramatically. There is quite a variation in type. Outlines altered greatly when the dogs were asked to move. Movement too was very mixed. I was pleased with my main winners who were all sound on the move. The influence of two well known kennels was apparent in my main winners, namely Drakesleat and Loretto, with my Junior D, Limit D and BOB all being sired by Loretto Whataknight At Wellbury.

MPD (9) 1 Angear's Ridegrove Cut N Deal. Nice 8 month old of lovely shape both standing and on the move, good forechest, ribbing well back, well angulated both ends, moved with drive. 2 McAlister's Lochfine Robbie The Pict. Another well made puppy, good head and eye, nice reach of neck with well placed shoulders, well made hindquarters, moved well. 3 Fieke's Lustrum Merry Madrigal.

PD (10) 1 1 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Spaghetti Junct. Sound boy with super front assembly, ribbing carried well back, well angulated hindquarters used to advantage on the move, lovely outline, held on the move, lovely head and expression. BP. 2 Fieke's Lustrum Merry Madrigal. Different in type to one, well angulated both ends, has good feet and bone, tight elbows, presented a nice outline, moved well, sired by the BOB. 3 Russell's Kevocklea Twelfth Knight.

JD (4) 1 Hadden's Wellbury John Deere. Had the best construction in the class, nice head and eye, in good coat, moved out well, good bone and feet. 2 Powell's Forbell Black Cap. Balanced dog in good condition, lovely head and expression, good forechest, tight elbows. 3 Thompson's Nordach Jack of Diamonds With Spengretta.

PGD (5) 1 Holmes' Curtisey Sweet Basil At Cazzdan. Good head, expression and length of neck, tight elbows, good ribbing, showed well. 2 Scott's Daisarch Dashing Dudley. Well presented boy, good bone and feet, well balanced, nice on the move. 3 Webster's Kaytian Kolapop At Mariadaw.

LD (10) Three stood away in this class. 1 Hallett's Loretto Not To Knight. Lovely boy who won on his good front movement, well constructed with good front assembly, ribbing well back, good hind angulation, super harsh coat. Sure to gain his title. 2 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Russell Sprout. Has a super forechest, good shoulder placement, well made quarters, keeps a nice profile on the move. 3 Armstrong's Lauralee Welshman.

OD (7) Best class of the day. The d's in this class could really move. 1 Fulton's Ch Rosara Black Knight At Bothlyn. Super little dog, so sound on the move, keeps his outline standing and on the move, first class front assembly, ribbing carried well back, well made quarters which he really used on the move, well presented and shown. CC, BOB and shortlisted in Hound Group. 2 Horswell's Drakesleat Surely You Jest. Another good mover, nice head and expression, well made with good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, good ribbing, hind angulation, handled sympathetically. Res CC. 3 Wilberg & Lampero's Freckle Face Kind Of Blue.

MPB (15) Difficult class to judge as type was so varied. 1 Angear's Ridegrove Tweed Doll. Litter sister to MPD, lovely outline, keeps her topline stacked and on the move, good reach of neck, good bone and feet. 2 Price's Samlane Imogen. Taller than one, nice head and eye, well placed shoulders, used her hindquarters well on the move. 3 Marka-Novaj's Shembys Just Perfik. PB (10) Again a v mixed class. 1 Hallett's Loretto Festive Bizniz. This little lady is so well put together, well balanced, good bone and size, well placed shoulders, nice topline, good quarters, sound on the move. Best PB. 2 Rathbone's Briarlind Evita. Different in type to one, has a nice shape, prominent forechest, good bone and feet, well made hindquarters. 3 Marston's Lordscairnie Magic Of Love.

JB (7) 1 Wilberg's Stargang Magical Finnish At Kanix. Of nice shape and size, good head and eye, prominent forechest ribbing well back, harsh coat, moved out well. 2 Stevens' Barkesvale Wysteria. Well made, good reach of neck, tight elbows, good bone and feet, well let down behind. 3 Marshall's Redgap Babbitty Bumble.

PGB (12) 1 Blackburn's Stargang Mystical Finnish. Litter sister to J winner, well made with good coat, tight elbows, good reach of neck, in lovely condition. 2 Scott's Daisarch Something Special. Of nice balance, super shoulders, forechest, ribbing carried well back, well made hindquarters, another in lovely condition. 3 Powell's Kevocklea Kracker At Forbell.

LB (14) 1 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Lucifer. Well constructed bitch, sound fore and aft, good wire coat, good reach of neck leading to well placed shoulders, good bone and feet, tight elbows, ribbing well back, well let down behind, used her hindquarters to drive round the ring, presented a lovely picture standing. In super condition. CC. 2 Hanney's Hilmar Abracadabra Of Bronia. Well made bitch, lovely head and eye, in good coat, nice forechest, ribbing, well angulated. 3 Cocozza & Hutchings Molloney Kiss Me Quick.

OB (10) 1 and 2 were very similar in type, both by the same sire. Both moved soundly, very little to separate. 1 Wood's Drakesleat Parr Slee Of Wildstar. Good shoulder placement, ribbing well back, short coupled, good harsh coat, moved with drive keeping her outline, well presented and handled, pushed hard in the challenge. Res CC. 2 Thorn-Andrews' Drakesleat Lettuce Pray. Along similar lines to one, well made, sound on the move, well constructed front, good body, well made hindquarters, in super coat and condition. 3 McAlister's Maidenlees Capsicum Of Lochfyne.
