I can’t deny initially I was a little disappointed at the quantity of the entries for both Breeds, but understandable after the Houndshow weekend of Shows and it being a weekday. However there was quality right through the entry and I really enjoyed my judging. Thank you to my efficient and very considerate Stewards.
Miniature Long Haired Dachshund
SB D or B 2(1)
1st Webster’s Indiko Eternal Flame – black and cream puppy bitch, really appealed for well made body, and his angles at shoulder and rear appeared in balance. Foreface perhaps a little longer and narrower than ideal but presented in super coat and condition . Free striding and active on the move . BSB
P D 2
1st Drady’s Indiko Fire And Ice – attractive cream, all of a piece with good body to height proportions. Skull and muzzle of equal distance, and almond shape to eye. Liked reach to neck and decent length to upper arm. Rounded rump, moves with drive. One to watch. BPD
2nd McGavigan and Pettigrew’s Pettigan’s Leo Of Leadhills – shaded red with pleasing head of balanced proportions. A little heavy in forefront but good length to ribbing and nicely angled at rear
J D 3(1)
1st May’s Scrumptious Red On The Dot JW - well muscled and compact, with 2 to 1 body shape, this gleaming red had a masculine head with strong jaw and almond eye. Reach to neck and well ribbed back with prominent prosternum and well angled front and rear. Initially he disappointed on the move until an extended pitstop, after which he moved freely with reach and drive. RCC
2nd Morrin and Barbi’s Zilcan Vanilla Ice For Arlatdax JW – shaded cream presented in super coat. A little more width across skull and foreface but good length to neck and decent angulation. Free striding mover
O D 3
1st Mitchells’ Ch Bronia Maverick- super wee cream, a true Dachshund in miniature. Handsome and houndy, with balance and symmetry throughout. Lovely masculine headpiece ,almond eye, good length to neck and upper arm. Well ribbed back, short loin and correct proportions with required ground clearance. Level topline held at all times. Well feathered flat coat. Moved with drive and good length to stride, fit and functional. Liked him as a puppy and he did not disappoint. DCC and BOB
2nd Wood’s Ch Wildstar Wrobinson – well proportioned red, compact and with an attractive, masculine head. Super front, with prominent prosternum, just a little shorter in sternum than winner. Another active mover.
3rd Drady’s Tolberg Black Adder At Indiko
P B 3(1)
1st Bell’s Indiko Touch Of Cream at Tolberg – this lovely black and cream is so well made all through, well proportioned in head, almond eye shape and reach to neck. Liked her front assembly and corresponding rear angles. Beautiful, gleaming coat and moved so well, like she’d been shown for years. What a future she has. BPB and BP
2nd Indiko Eternal Flame
J B 6(1)
1st Dare’s Larkhund Celtic Rose Darsoms – houndy young bitch with such an air about her, pleasing head and eye. Shining black and tan coat with enough feathering .Liked her length to height and strong compact body. Good length to neck and return of upper arm, with equal rear angulation. Ribbing reaching well back and short loin. On the move had great stride and drive. Another whose career I shall follow. RCC
2nd Bell’s Indiko Cast In Cream At Tolberg- cream from this particularly nice litter, again liked body shape and proportions and happy confident mover. Perhaps a little narrower in head at the moment but lovely shape to eye.
3rd Mason’s Crownlakes Million Dollars
PG B 4(1)
1st Heather’s Ravensbeech Florentine Whiteorchard – attractive silver dapple with good length and strength to jaw, and equidistant skull. Another who had length to neck with pronounced prosternum and well ribbed. Well presented coat and moved actively and striding out.
2nd Mason’s Crownlakes Million Dreams – liked this red in lovely order, just not in the mood today, though she moved with reach and drive and presented a good outline when stacked.
3rd Jackson’s Dream Beach Lucille.
L B 1
McGavigan and Pettigrew’s Pettigan’s Deep Secret – red bitch with good shape to skull and strong in jaw. Well coated but has ground clearance and moves with activity. Perhaps could do with a bit more length to upper arm but has pronounced prosternum , Well proportioned and nicely rounded rear.
O B 6(1)
1st Mason’s Ch Crownlakes Queen Bee JW – beautiful black and tan with super houndy conical head held proudly on neck of good length. Won this cracking class on her length of upper arm. Hind angulation complimented her well made front assembly. Correct, gleaming flat coat and cleared the ground easily and such a free mover and maintaining topline .Close up for RCC.
2nd Wood’s Wildstar Wrolanda – shaded red presented in good order. Well shaped in skull, perhaps marginally narrower across muzzle. Good length to height ratio and well ribbed back. Moved actively and with length to stride.
3rd Graham’s Raline’s Coalition With Jadag
V B 1
1st Mason’s Ch Tolberg Beez Kneez At Teckletown – a wee cracker with shining red coat whose years suit her. Feminine head with equal length of muzzle to skull, almond eye, low set ears and strong in jaw. A functional Dachshund in miniature, she had a good front assembly with pronounced prosternum and length to sternum. Short loin and level topline. Balanced fore and aft and true coming and going. Happy and free on the move, striding out with drive BCC and BV
