I would like to start with a big Thank You to Belfast Dog Show Society for the invitation to judge at their show and giving me the opportunity to judge some of my favourite breeds, their kind hospitality and welcome was just the break I needed. Thank you everyone for their kind thoughts and memories of Ian who should have accompanied me to this show, all comments and support were very much appreciated. For me it was wonderful to be back amongst friends judging breeds which I so much adore, I truly enjoyed this weekend away amongst you all and was delighted with my final winners. LD (1) 1 Pachego On The Double (Emerson) attractive 4 year old shaded red, with typical conical shaped head with almond shaped eye, moderate neck leading to well angulated forequarters, prominent forechest and level topline, a little longer in loin but with ample ground clearance, moved true coming and going. OD (2) 1 Ch/ir Ch/int Ch Zarcrest See in Red at Smartdac (Mcdonnell) This 4 year old golden red male caught my eye the moment he walked in the ring, immaculately present with long gleaming coat, he flows around the ring with real purpose, exhibiting true reach and drive, head held high and topline level. Classic head, conical shaped with dark almond shaped eyes, enhanced by excellent pigmentation, moderate neck leading to laid back shoulders, and firm topline, ribbed well back with prominent sternum, well muscled rear quarters with good turn of stifle, this all fitted together to complete the picture for me, could not go past him for my Dog CC and BOB and later delighted to see him take a strong Hound Group under esteemed judge Espen Engh, Congratulations 2 Ch Bronia Maverick (Mitchell) pushed the winner hard, this attractive cream dog is ideal for size, well within standard, again classic head, conical shaped the dark almond shaped eye, and excellent pigmentation, well constructed forequarters and good length of rib, short loin, just out paced by winner Res Dog CC VD (1) 1 Ch/Ir Ch Ralines Sazerac (Woodvine-Shone) 8 year old red dog, classic conical shaped head, with dark eye, sturdy body well ribbed with prominent forechest, PB (4) 1 Indiko A Touch of Cream at Tolberg (Bell) A pleasure to go over this youngster, she is correct for size, body and type. Classic conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eyes, moderate neck set into well laid shoulders, oval chest, well ribbed body with short loin and strong well angulated rear quarters. A pleasure to watch as she moves around the ring exhibiting reach and drive keeping that topline and tail set. Attractive long coat of contrasting black and cream complete the picture, pleased to award her BP & Res Bitch CC and later watch her take Puppy Group 2 later under judge Ernie Patterson 2 Oliva Crespalia of Bronia (Imp Esp) NAF (Mitchell) a promising shaded red bitch with required make and shape just lacking the confidence as yet of the winner. She has the classic outline from conical shaped head, strong neck, laid back shoulders and excellent forequarters with prominent pro sternum, ribbed well back with level topline and well angulated rear quarters with ample width. 3 Hanishan Solar Express (Woodvine-Shone) JB (1) 1 Indiko Cast in Cream at Tolberg (Bell) Attractive cream bitch just 9 months and still very much a puppy. Elegant tapering conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eye with excellent pigmentation. She has a compact body ribbed well back, good forequarters and firm topline, well boned with good feet, was out paced by her kennel mate for best puppy but one that will always be in the cards. NB (2) 1 ndiko Cast in Cream at Tolberg (Bell) (repeat JB) 2 Hedgefen Midnight (Herbert) 18 month black & tan bitch, just needs to gain in confidence, possibly the noise in the hall unsettling her on the day. She is a good size, with correct bone and feet, balanced head with dark eyes, correct tapering muzzle, moderate neck, hard to assess her body or movement as she insisted on standing like a banana in this class, but later seemed to gain in confidence to take the Sp. Beg. Class. OB (4,1) 1 Ir Ch Dark Designed at Smartdac (Mcdonnell) 2 year old black & tan bitch presents a pleasing outline standing, from classic conical shaped head, dark almond shaped eye, tapering muzzle, moderate neck set into well laid back shoulders, well constructed forequarters, firm level topline and well turned stifle to rear. Her black coat is long and silky with rich tan markings/ Moved out well keeping her topline pleased to award her Bitch CC 2 Hanishan Shot in The Dark (Woodvine-Shone) three year old compact B&T bitch of correct size, pleasing for balance and type, firm body perhaps a carrying a little too much weight on the day, correct conical shaped head, good forechest, well ribbed body, good feet, moved out really well. 3 Ir Ch She’s Defying Gravity at Dramadax (Daly) Special Beginners B (1) 1 Hedgefen Midnight (Herbert) (Repeat Novice Bitch)
