If I am honest, I find this the most challenging variety of the breed to
judge. Hind action can be difficult to assess if there is a lot of
feathering and a long coat on the undercarriage can make a well balanced
dog look low to the ground. In general, I was impressed with the
physical soundness of most of the exhibits. All of the dogs were clean
and well presented. I would urge breeders to pay particular attention to
temperaments as a number were certainly timid and looked rather
apprehensive. I did have some really high quality class winners. Thank
you all for your support and it was lovely to hear applause for the
winners at the conclusion of judging. My lovely Steward did an excellent
job of keeping me in order.
1st Place 1455 - Ch/Ir Ch Ralines Sazerac (Miss Woodvine-Shone). He
provided me with a good start to the day as I mentally graded him as CC
quality. Very handsome and really pleasing to handle with his excellent
forehand, pronounced
breast bone, good length of rib and excellent topline. Moved
out well with good head carriage and some drive from the rear. Best
Veteran.
Class 573. Minor Puppy Dog
1st Place 1392 - Dolyharp Rossini at Garbosa (Mrs L Brown). A real baby
but with lots to admire. Very well balanced head with dark, well shaped
eyes, good mouth. Has some length of neck and he is well proportioned
with good ribbing and a pleasing topline. With a little more experience
he should do very well.
1st Place 1416 - Scrumptious Red On The Dot JW (Mrs C May). Composed and
showy and kept a good outline at all times. Pleasing head, good bone and
nicely padded and arched feet. Pleasing length of rib and short loin.
Moved well both out and back.
2nd Place 1422 - Nagshall Paolo Prince (Mrs C Mccarthy). Smart wit an
attractive, masculine head and dark, well shaped eyes. Good length of
neck, Excellent body and ribbing. Once settled, he moved well.
3rd Place 1404 - Restinim Mr Pip (Rev A Fairchild)
1st Place 1402 - Zarcrest Red in The Room JW (Miss O & Mr L Dalton &
Beach). Classy with good head carriage and decent neck and shoulders.
Good bone and feet. Well angulated, nicely muscled hindquarters. Sound
and typical.
2nd Place 1391 - Xemxija Ice Onyx (Mr Dp & Mr Dm Bennett & Drake). Very
smart and presents a very good profile on the table where he is pleasing
to handle as he had a good forehand with well placed elbows, prominent
breastbone and good keel. Good ground clearance. Moved out well, he’s
just a little proud of his tail but I forgave him that as it was an
indication of his good temperament.
3rd Place 1422 - Nagshall Paolo Prince (Mrs C Mccarthy)
1st Place 1428 - Zilcan Vanilla Ice for Arlatdax (Miss C & Miss C Morrin
& Barbi). Long, well balanced head with good eyes. Decent forehand with
ample bone and good feet. Good length of rib with some muscle tone over
the loins. Good hindquarters and moved out soundly.
2nd Place 1437 - Dwtidachs Great Days (Mr J & Mrs E Roberts). Very good
ribbing and topline, well balanced with adequate ground clearance and he
kept a good outline on the move.
3rd Place 1415 - Hanishan Firery Fox (Mrs C May)
1st Place 1428 - Zilcan Vanilla Ice for Arlatdax (Miss C & Miss C Morrin
& Barbi)
2nd Place 1431 - Dante Delart Dach Musketier's (Mrs J Pavlatova). Smart
and workmanlike with an appealing head of good length. Ribbed well back
with a very slight rise over the loins. Good hind action but just a
shade narrow in front.
Class 578. Post Graduate Dog
1st Place 1431 - Dante Delart Dach Musketier's (Mrs J Pavlatova)
1st Place 1440 - Dolyharp Amadeus at Sidburyhill (Mr A & Mrs K Stevens).
CC & BOB. I was very impressed with this handsome youngster. A good
showman with a very assured temperament. Pleasing to handle with an
excellent forehand. Good neck which he uses to advantage. Decent bone
and feet. Good length of sternum and rib. Flat, straight coat which
enhanced his shape perfectly. Most impressive on the move with some
drive from his good quarters.
2nd Place 1418 - Nagshall Dyce The Ice JW (Mrs C Mccarthy). A very
nicely made dog, good length of rib and a strong, short loin. Really
pleasing head and expression. Decent forehand. Sound but just a little
too laid back!
3rd Place 1439 - Minard Darque Red for Devondax JW (Miss K Small)
1st Place 1393 - Ch Garbosa I'm A Dandy JW (Mrs L Brown). Reserve CC. A
beautifully made dog with a grand head, excellent forehand with good
bone and well padded, arched feet. Good length of rib and sternum. Short
coupled and strong, well muscled hindquarters. Moved really well.
2nd Place 1417 - Nagshall Dutch Odyssey (Mrs C Mccarthy). Soundly made
and nicely balanced. Good forechest and ample bone. Ribs extend well
back. Moved out soundly with some drive evident.
3rd Place 1434 - Findowrie The Fusileer (Mrs M E Poole)
Class 581. Special Beginners
The first three were all bitches.
1st Place 1442 - Westwillow Sweet Pea (Miss G Tubb). Soundly made and
shows to best advantage, pretty head of good length, slightly arched
neck and well developed forechest. Ribs extend well back and she has a
good topline and well carried tail. Sound and free moving. I gather her
wins today gave her enough points for her Junior Warrant.
Congratulations.
2nd Place 1446 - Minard Whispering Angel at Treranch (Mrs P G Westaway).
Moved out well with good deportment and head carriage. Nicely crested
neck and good shoulders. Ribbed well back with a short loin and has good
ground clearance. Moved soundly.
3rd Place 1397 - Chriskim's Golden Ticket at Floxie (Mrs Kelly Church)
1st Place 1456 - Dolyharp Music of The Night (Mrs C Worswick). I learned
after judging that this nicely made bitch is the dam of the BOB winner.
Ample bone with good feet. Good keel. Well ribbed with correct topline
and well set tail. Sound and typical on the move.
Class 583. Minor Puppy Bitch

the maturity of the winner as yet but she too shows herself to
advantage. Very good forehand, with decent bone and feet. Good ribbing.

the move.
