1st Withheld

Many thanks to exhibitors for a good  “Friday” entry of 62 exhibits making 69 entries with 10 absentees.

No hounds appeared thin or undernourished so this was not a concern today.

A large number of exhibits were over the desired maximum weight of 11lbs and this is obviously taken into consideration  but not to the detriment of type,  construction and movement within all classes.

I know that the standard describes a slightly arched loin but a few exhibits once on the move displayed rumps higher than the withers due to slightly incorrect set of pelvis and rear angulations.

A number also lacked the full deep and closed arched feet which are so important in a Dachshund.

It was difficult to judge to a type and the majority of decisions had to be made on the move.

MPD – 4 Entry  2 Abs

1st – Wood ,  Wildstar Washington

Elegant clean outlined shaded red who has a very good head,  well made front with good forechest,   long clean neck into shoulders and strong topline,   well ribbed,   well angulated rear,  moving well and covering good ground in profile,  very well presented and in good body condition and muscle tone.  Best Puppy.

2nd – Mccarthy,  Nagshall Dyce The Ice

Promising baby more immature than first with lovely head,  good shoulder lay and well-constructed front, liked his size and overall balance,  moved well from all angles.

2nd – Poole,  Findowrie The Fusileer

Appreciated this black and tan youngster more when going over him,  correct shoulders and good length and set of upper arm,   good forechest,   well ribbed,  moved well but today did not have the length of stride of winner.

3rd – Mccarthy,  Nagshall Dyce The Ice

JD – 2 Entries  1 Abs

1st – Mccarthy,  Nagshall The Odd Reason JW

Elegant looking boy who is well balanced with correct height to length ratio,  lovely head ,  long neck, good length of ribbing,  stands on tight feet,  moved well in profile just needs to strengthen through the quarters.

PGD – 5 Entries

1st – Wallace,  Ralines Just Jiles

Another elegant boy of a lovely type and quality,  good size and well balanced clean outline,  loved his head and eye,  good front assembly,  ribbing of good length and depth,  well angulated and robust quarters true fore and aft and covered well in profile,   handler appeared nervous in the challenge and hence he did not go as well as in the class,  RCC today but I feel he should go on to bigger things.

2nd – Norton,  Halunke Dreams Of Magic

Another elegant dog who has a lovely head set on a long neck,  he is well constructed front and rear and moved well,  slightly longer cast than first,   well presented and in good body conditioning and muscle tone,  another who I am sure will do well.

3rd-  Latham-Jackson, Hanishan Neopolitan Urishay

LD – 6 Entries  1 Absent

1st – Poole,  Findowrie Mister Mckye

Shaded red of lovely size and balance,  like his type,  good head and eyes,   he has a good forechest and is well ribbed back,  correct topline and underline,  used his quarters to advantage on the move and also retained the strongest topline in this class today.

2nd – Mccarthy,  Nagshall Dutch Odyssey

Elegant type with good head and reach of neck,  well ribbed,  slightly longer cast than first,  moved well but lost his topline on occasion,   in good body conditioning and well presented.

3rd – Weston & Johnson,  Ecotyne Devil’s Advocate

Quality red boy with clean elegant lines,  lovely masculine head not overdone,  long neck into correct shoulder placement and set of upper arm,  good forechest and well filled front,   quality bone into strong closed feet,  ribbing of good length and depth,  well balanced throughout,   good ground clearance,         good through the quarters,  moved true and with powerful profile stride and shown in good conditioning and muscle tone to win CC.

2nd-  Mee,  Barlaine Just William

Shaded red boy of good size and type and quality,  lovely head,  correct shoulders and well filled oval front,  well ribbed and strong body,  lovely bone and he stands on strong arched feet,  moving well,  just preferred the overall outline and neck length of the winner.

VD – 1 Entry

1st -  Ryan & Cheras,   Garbosa Bisto Boy at Cheniesvilla

11.5 years old ,  he has strong and clean dentition,  loved his temperament on the table,  good to go over and of good type,  he moved so well in profile and was really enjoying himself and continued to do so in the challenge with the lovely veteran bitch winner to win Best Veteran.

1st –  Mccarthy,  Nagshall I’m So Dizzy

Pretty puppy who demonstrated she has a lovely temperament both on and off the table,  liked her head and type,  good front,   very good forechest and keel,   stands on good feet and has good bone,   she was composed on the move and true both ways,   well contained for her age I feel she will do well.

2nd – Bell,  Xemxija Ice Diamond Allforus

Another pretty six month old puppy,  she moved well on the final circuit to win her placing,  she was giving her handler a hard time but I liked her attitude,  long may she enjoy herself.

JB – 5 Entries  1 Abs

1st –  Mitchell,   Bronia Day Dreamer

Loved this pretty cream girl for her type and high quality,  lovely head and expression,   so balanced outline,   sound throughout she is great to go over and for me epitomises a Dachshund in miniature,  she moved true both ways and really covered the ground in her compact frame,   I thought she could have won one of the green cards but unfortunately she decided to go walkabout and not take herself seriously in the challenge.

2nd –  Butler,   Minard Out of The Darque from Drymoor

Another quality girl who is good to go over,     she is well ribbed and has good top and underline,  strong loin and quarters,  good conditioning,  moving well,   unfortunate to meet first who is just my cup of tea.

3rd –  Poole,   Findowrie Jessica Rose

PGB – 10 Entries  3 Abs

1st – Wood,   Wildstar Wrolanda

Elegant shaded red of good size and proportions,   lovely head and eye shape,  well balanced with a sharp clean outline,    long neck into good front assembly,   ribbing of good length,  moving so well from all angles and she retained her outline,  good ground clearance,  really covered the ground with long stride and drive and never stopped showing in the challenge to win the RCC.

2nd – Findlay,  Hanburydax Phantom Lady

Pretty girl who has good head and expression,   she demonstrated good temperament on and off the table,   stands on good feet,   a little happy with her tail on the move but she is a happy girl,   she moved with good stride and drive to cover the ground and win her placing here.

3rd -  Hall,   Cliffmere Edith

LB – 8 Entries

1st – Mason,  Crownlake’s Queen Bee JW

Another one that I really liked for her type and quality,   she is of correct size and proportions being well balanced,   feminine outlook with good head and expression,   long neck into sound well filled front,          well ribbed and strong loins,  quality bone and good feet,   moved true and covered ground effectively,  good coat and body condition,   really liked her but she was another who just did not give the same in the challenge,   will watch her progress with interest.

2nd –  Norton,  Halunke Super Magic

Slightly larger mould and of a different type to first but I also liked her very much,  she is another that is good to go over,  good front assembly and shoulder and upper arm angles,   well ribbed with good top and underline,  good body conditioning,   she has sound and well angulated quarters which she used to advantage,   good conditioning and muscle tone,  moving soundly from all angles and with good stride.

3rd –  Williamson,  Wildstar Wrobina at Barkroyal

OB – 2 Entries

1st -  Whitfield-Roberts, Ch. Dandydayo Kiss The Girl

Quality stamp with feminine head and true expression,   beautiful balance throughout,  good neck and topline,   excels in fore chest and front assembly,  so well ribbed,   strong loin and well angulated quarters used to advantage,  moved true and with great ground cover in profile,   her stride was efficient and easy with no over effort needed and the more she went the better she became,   pleased to Award CC and BOB

2nd -  Mason,  Tolberg Beez Kneez at Teckeltown

Another pretty red girl with a feminine head piece,  good front ,  liked her size and proportion balance,  retained her god topline on the move,  used her sound quarters and moved parallel fore and aft and maintained a steady profile.

VB – 2 Entries

1st –  Mee,  Barlaine’s Red Splendour

Just over 8 years,  really like her type and quality which still shines through even if she is carrying a little excess but well-earned weight,  good shoulder and upper arm angulation and well-constructed throughout,  stands on strong feet,   moved out well and around the ring here and kept her outline but lost some enthusiasm in the challenge for best veteran.

2nd-   Weston & Johnson,  Ecotyne Firewitch

Another lovely 8 year old,  in good coat,  also liked her type and elegance,  she is good to go over as she is well constructed,  she moved true fore and aft but the winner just kept a stronger outline.
