It was a pleasure to judge at the Bath Ch Show & was blessed with the best day weather-wise. Thank you to all the exhibitors for your entries.

Sadly I did find that front assembly was disturbing on many exhibits, short upper arms & lack of pro-sternum was evident. Careful consideration should be given regarding future matings so this can be corrected. Rears on the other hand have improved. I found one rye mouth & some very dirty teeth! Exhibitors, this is a beauty competition for your dogs, dirty teeth & untidy feet will not do. Gladly I found some that were beautifully presented.

MPD (3) 1 Norton’s Halunke Going Dutch, 8 months, chunky, confident red baby. Well put together, masculine head, good eye, well placed shoulders, strong hammy quarters which he used well going away, just a tad wide coming to me. Needs to tighten, in super condition. One to watch; 2 Lockett-Walter’s Ralines One Of Those, cream dog with good head, front & shoulders, dark pigmentation, nice size, moved true fore & aft. Very promising. PD (1) 1 Le Page’s Thelpees Harris Tweed, happy outgoing puppy, very raw at present, needs firmer handling to bring out his best. Hard to assess today. JD (1) 1 McCarthy’s Mr Tambourine Man, good head, eye & expression. This lad has a lot to offer, just needs time to body up. Very nice on the move & was driving well from the rear. One to watch. PGD (6) 1 Cooper’s Jumandas Renaissance, lovely head & well set on ears, correct scissor bite, very proud little dog with lots of attitude, correct shoulders & front. Kept good topline on the move. Well balanced boy; 2 Angear’s Ridgegrove Bessie, another lovely one, similar attitudes apply, nicely angulated, moved well. LD (3) 1 Broad’s Neertanauf Sea Magic, super shaded/r with a lovely houndy head, dark eyes, good deep underjaw, excellent front, well-made rear, moved with drive & presented in lovely condition; 2 Earley’s Yelva Mister Brandy Man, another lovely dog, with a good head & underjaw. So many lack this! Close competition to 1, a bit narrower all through than 1. OD(6) 1 Angear’s Ch Ridgegrove In Disguise, loved this one, quality just oozes out of him, masculine head, correct scissor bite, enough neck, leading into well laid shoulders, good front, good ribbing carried back into well made rear. Well balanced, not overdone anywhere, nice tidy feet. Moved out well with drive & purpose. True saying, ‘made right, will move right’ & he certainly did. Well presented. Proud to award him CC & BOB; 2 Wood’s Wildstar Wrenouned, another lovely dog, similar attributes apply, would just like a little more neck. Moved out very well. Close decision just preferred 1 on this occasion. VD (1) 1 Young’s Ch Willowheath Hendrix, loved this dog. I judged him as a youngster & he is still lovely today, lovely to go over, all things in proportion. Well deserved his RCC.

MPB (3) 1 Brooke’s Lyndarlea Little Pearl, aptly named. Good in head, lovely mouth, deep underjaw, enough pro-sternum, ribbing, level topline, well rounded rear, with good turn of stifle. Moved with drive, good future ahead of her; 2 McCarthy’s Nagshall Lauralei, another lovely girl, nice in head, eye, front & rear. Moved a bit erratically today, but she’s a baby. PB (2) 1 McCarthy’s Nagshall Love Actually, cream bitch, lots to like. Well made front, ribbing & rear. Moved the best in this class; 2 Norris’ Criscan Missmia, lots to like with this bitch, lovely head & expression, reachy neck, good length, not overdone. I preferred her hind movement to her front movement, toeing out a bit today. JB (8) 1 Worswick’s Dolyharps Bitter Sweet, super size, rich red, compact, sweet head, good shoulders & pro-sternum, correct length, good turn of stifle, very well balanced, moved out proudly & with drive; 2 Graham’s Jadag Fancy That, super rich b/t bitch, lovely head, dark eye & happy expression. Good length, conformed to the 2 – 1 ratio, not overdone anywhere. Close decision but just preferred movement of 1 today. PGB (10) 1 Edwards’ Barok Brighter Side, this bitch has lots of potential, good attributes all through, well angulated & a good mover; 2 Wood’s Wildstar Wromance, nice bitch, would like more muzzle but loved her shoulders, length & quarters. Sound mover. LB (12) 1 Edwards’ Barok Blonde Bombshell, loved this bitch in all aspects, excellent in head, eye, reach of neck, front, length of ribbing & especially her lovely graceful movement. She was like silk to go over, took command of the ring covering the ground with ease. Beautifully presented. Proud to award her CC. Well deserved; 2 Wood’s Jumandas Replica of Wildstar, another lovely bitch of quality. Similar comments apply to her but just preferred ring presence of 1 today. Well deserved RCC. Close decision! OB (13) 1 Boyle’s Rafthouse Lydia Dustbin at Zarcrest, compact bitch, very eyecatching, good length of neck, level topline & of good overall length, moved out really well. Hard to assess her on the stack as she was being a bit fidgety; 2 Morton’s Dinkidudlor Isha Aur Og at Eldmoor, red bitch I really liked, good head & eye, front well made, good overall length & well made rear, level topline kept on the move. VB 1 Sainsbury’s Boscolla The Lady Isabella, what a sweetheart? 13½ years young & just commanded attention. Well made all through. Knew exactly what to do & did it with pride. Well deserved. 1st placing & many more to come; 2 Earley’s The Diva of Yelva, another lovely bitch of quality but had to give way to her elders today, but I’m sure her day will come. Very nicely made & presented. Two very happy & outgoing oldies.
