Dachshund (Miniature Long Haired)

Judge: Mrs Margaret Leighton

PD (5) 1 Hall’s Gayvilles Northern Defender. B/t, good head and expression, well placed shoulders and front, super bone with well angulated hindquarters, moved well. 2 Brooks’ Lyndarlea Digby Boy. Cream, very promising young boy in good coat and condition, excellent length and spring of rib, another with good bone, moved round the ring with style, two very nice puppies.

JD (3) 1 Brooks’ Rhinestar Phoenix At Lyndarlea. Alone in this class. S/r, long and low, good head, nice dark eye, good front with well placed shoulders, excellent length of rib, well angulated hindquarters, just did not like to be handled on the day, and the wind did not help. Nonetheless a very nice boy.

ND (1) 1 Liddle’s Bonnerhill Royal Advisor. B/t, nice head and expression, good coat and condition, would have liked a better hind end, moved ok.

PGD (5) 1 Roberts’ Denver Jack Frost. I liked this boy when I saw him as a puppy. Cream, super head, nice dark eye, good neck running into well placed shoulders, ribbing of good length, super angulated rear with nice short hocks, moved well keeping a good topline at all times. 2 Brooks’ Maundowne Mutineer At Lyndarlea. B/t, in super coat and condition, everything in the right place, good shoulder placement, level topline with nice angulated hindquarters, moved round the ring with drive. 3 Mee’s Barlaines Crusader.

LD (4) 1 Jamieson’s Airwaves To Carlang Via Djeata. B/t in super coat and condition, liked his lowness to ground and his well let down hindquarters with lovely short hocks, excellent bone and feet with nice short nails, well filled body which I found lacking in a lot of the dogs on the day. Unlucky to come up against his kennel mate in the challenge. RCC. 2 Brooks’ Quitrutec Half Day At Lyndarlea. Cream in good coat, well laid back shoulders, ribbing of good length, level topline which he kept both standing and moving, good front and hind angulation in super coat and condition, very nice head, would have liked better pigment round the eyes, moved round the ring with style. 3 Barnsdale & Hayward-Barnsdale’s Chriskim Ray Of Light.

OD (5) 1 Jamieson’s Djeata Lord Of The Dance. B/t on top form, excellent head and eye, finished off with long ear fringes, good front and lay back of shoulders, deep keel, ribbing of good length, well let down hindquarters, lovely to go over, one with a good firm body, excellent bone and feet, moved round the ring with style. CC. 2 Jamieson’s Ir Ch Djeata Next Millennium. Red, have judged this boy before and still like him, long, low, level topline, super hind angulation, short hocks, good head with lovely long ear fringes, showed well. 3 Strachan’s Bronia Fusilier Of Calderpark.

PB (5) 1 Boyle’s Zarcrest Gold Designer. 9 months red and what a cracker, just fell for this young lady as she entered the ring, beautiful to go over, everything in the right place, super feminine head and expressive dark eye, excellent front assembly, the best of hindquarters with nice short hocks, level topline, in super coat and condition for one so young, just flowed round the ring. CC and BOB and pulled out in the Group. 2 Tomlinson’s Jadag Wild Heather To Winglow. S/r, just a baby, good front assembly and ribbing, nice bone and feet, keeping a good topline standing and moving. 3 Tomlinson’s Mistynook Cinders To Winglow.

JB (1) 1 Brown’s Northnook Ellie May At Garbosa. Lovely choc., well balanced, compact body, feminine head and expression, super lay of shoulders and good length of ribbing, nice short hocks keeping a good topline at all times, moved round the ring with style, should have a bright future.

NB (1) 1 Wood’s Helmfoot Bright Destiny. Nice head and eye, good front, long ribbing, taller than I like and would like a little more weight.

PGB (11) 1 Mee’s Barlaines Country Charmer. B/t, shiny coat and condition, very low, the type I like, super front and depth of keel, ribbing well sprung and of good length, well angulated rear, showed well. 2 Cowie’s Maudaxi Pearly Princess. Small compact brindle, very well put together, super well covered body in full coat, which made her look a little stuffy round the neck, good length and spring of rib, moved and showed well. 3 Barclay & Williamson’s Korzwin Cover Girl.

LB (9) 1 Lamb’s Howrigg Tar Baby. B/t, nice type, lovely head and eye, good strong neck running into well placed shoulders, well angulated hindquarters, strong topline which she kept on the move and standing. RCC. Unlucky to meet the puppy on the day, which was on top form. 2 McLachlan’s Gayvilles Specially For You. B/t, long and level in lovely coat and condition, ribbing of good length, excellent bone, nice bunchy feet, moved and showed well. 3 Shutt’s Donnadoon Passion Flower At Rhinestar.

OB (5) 1 Boyle’s Ch Zarcrest Ace Of Diamonds. Three lovely bitches which could change places another day, well bodied b/t, small and compact, feminine head and eye, strong neck, running into well placed shoulder, good length and spring of rib, well angulated rear with nice short hocks which she used well on the move, not in her best coat on the day. 2 Mee’s Barlaines Be My Valentine. B/t, this one I have always liked, gave her the RCC the last time I judged her, so compact everything in the right place, one just had the edge today with a little shorter hocks, moved and showed well. 3 Hall’s Cliffmere Klassic.
