Thank you to the Committee for organising this double show, I was very pleased to finally fulfil this appointment! It was a horrible really wet cold day and well done to all exhibitors who braved the elements to get to the venue. Although generally min smooths have the highest entries, sadly the overall quality does not match the numbers. I think that some exhibits would really benefit from exercise to gain muscle as lots were very flabby. I was very pleased with my principal winners.

Veteran D/B ( 1st Coxon’s Ch Distinctly So D’arisca 7-year red male who was the clear winner of this class. Has lovely breed type with a masculine head. Prominent breast bone with well laid shoulder and good upper arm. Has excellent ribbing with well angulated hindquarters and good tail set. Sound true moving and expertly handled. 2nd Reynold’s Ir Ch Consulate Don George of Aragon at Glenariff (imp Gib) Shaded red very similar to winner but in a bigger frame, just a shade loose in elbow. Moved soundly.

Minor PD (3,2abs) 1st Paget & Carroll Marvale Red Cardinal 8-month red who oozes breed type. Fabulous head with lovely eye, good mouth with excellent big teeth. Forequarter construction very correct with prominent fore chest. Tight elbows. Tidy feet, well ribbed and great hindquarters. Sound mover. I really liked this boy and was pleased to award him BP, RDCC and delighted to see him BPIS

PD (1) 1st Linburndax Rachs Tru Haggis 10-month B/T he is a shade leggy even for me at this stage, but he may well drop into his frame as he matures. Has a very nice head, prominent fore chest, needs more ribbing and his hind end is ok.

JD (4,1 abs) 1st Melbourne, Paget & Carroll Melriding Cloak and Dagger, well balanced B/T with great headpiece, has enough fore chest, good layback, well angulated hindquarter, moved soundly, very nice exhibit. 2nd Mason’s Teckeltown Masterpiece Red, didn’t care for the head on this dog but otherwise very nice. Good bone and feet, fore chest not as prominent as winner, good ribbing and correct hindquarter. Moved soundly.

SYD (1) 1st Linburndax Rachs Tru Haggis

PGD (3,1 abs) 1st Wilson Baltiyskiy Talisman Di Jay (imp Rus) larger type, head ok, good fore chest, loose in elbow, would benefit from more ribbing and a shade erratic when moving. 2nd Linburndax Rachs Tru Haggis

LD (9, 2 abs) 1st Williams & Moes Cwmdarhian Jesse James, took my eye when he entered the ring, beautifully balanced clear red mature male with fabulous head and eye. Strong bone with excellent forequarters, prominent fore chest and excellent layback with correct upper arm, something sadly lacking on so many. Tight elbows. Correct hindquarters and tail set, ribbing ok. Moved soundly with drive and expertly handled. DCC and BOB 2nd Mason Teckeltown Something Magic JW B/T well balanced, head OK, enough fore chest, well ribbed, nicely angled hindquarter, moved well.

OD (6, 3 abs) Close decision between these 2 lovely dogs, red and B/T. Both have lovely heads, second had better feet but felt winner had slightly better balance and as they went round the ring Russian Sun had better shoulder placement. Both had good ribs with well angulated hindquarters and both moved soundly. 1st Williams & Moes Gellijams Russian Sun for Cwmdarhian 2nd Andison & Peel Clentry Donnie Darco

MPB (6) Class of wobbly babies! 1st Metcalfe-Bilgin Metadale Legacy Lives On. 6-month red well-balanced baby with a beautiful shape, Feminine head with lovely eye, prominent fore chest with good shoulder layback, good ribs and well angulated hind end, correct tail set and best mover in the class. 2nd Mason Collidach Hot Springs. Glossy brindle, not as keen on her head, her forequarters are ok, enough ribbing, good hindquarters, she looks better when moving than stacked and she went round the ring soundly.

PB (1) 1st Andison & Peel Clentry a Girl Like You. 8 month well balanced B/T with good breed type. Well laid shoulder and prominent fore chest, good bone and feet, well ribbed with well angulated hindquarter, moved soundly if a shade close behind, something that may well improve with maturity and getting more muscle. BPB and RCC

JB (9, 4 abs) 1st Hanney-Mitchell Bronia’s Antonella. Elegant red with beautiful head and eye, has breed type in abundance. Has super forequarters with prominent fore chest, well laid shoulder and correct upper arm. Good bone and feet, well ribbed and correctly angled hindquarters, she carries her tail a shade high but only because she has a great happy temperament, the set on is fine. Very sound correct mover, expertly handled, could not look past her for the BCC. 2nd Melbourne, Paget & Carroll Melriding Chanson Roland. Very nice B/T who is very nicely made, good fore and hind quarters, pretty head, good ribs and sound mover, just a shade low for me.

SYB (4, 2 abs) Not a great class 1st Cumberland Mumysami So Distinct. Shaded red, a shade forward in shoulder and hind quarters could be better, ribbing ok, moved ok 2nd Wilson Zilveraat Moulin Rouge. I thought this red could be the winner, has very nice profile movement but she moved too close in front.

PGB (4, 2 abs) 1st Hanney-Mitchell Bronia’s Abriana. Reluctant but well-balanced red showgirl, moves slightly close in front but has lovely breed type, very feminine head, good bone and feet, well angled fore and aft with good ribs. 2nd Cumberland Mumysami So What. Red. Finer all through, straight in hindquarters and would benefit from more ribbing, Pretty head, forequarters OK, very well handled by her young handler.

LB (5, 2 abs) 1st Dunhill Cwmdarhain Annie Oakley at Gellijam. Very pretty B/T, with good forequarter construction, feet could be tighter, hind end OK, is just a shade too long for me but a very nice bitch. 2nd Carey Mystery Maiden for Debbiejay, preferred the length/height ratio on this bitch, another pretty head, feet could be better, ribs ok and slightly straighter in the rear. Moved well.

OB (8, 3 abs) Difficult class 1st Coxon’s Sundsdal’s Black Cadillac to D’arisca. Easy winner, B/T, great breed type and well balanced, very pretty head, very good ribbing, has enough fore chest and has enough layback, she has very good hindquarters, sound confident mover, expertly handled. 2nd Metcalfe-Bilgin Ch Metadale Legacy to the Lark, pretty well-balanced red girl, would like a shade more fore chest, shoulders are good and has well angulated hindquarters. Good ribbing, feet could be tighter, moved well.
