My thanks to the WKC for a lovely day & to my able stewards for their help.

It was a pleasure to judge this delightful variety again. The entry was numerically small, but there was quality in both dogs & bitches. All exhibits were shown in good condition & there were none who I considered lacking in body or excessively overweight & all had lovely outgoing temperaments which was lovely to see.

My placings were as I saw the dogs on the day. I was looking for a well constructed hound who was balanced in outline & could move soundly & freely with good ground clearance. We had a lovely spacious ring where dogs could show to their best advantage.

PD (3) 1 Barrett’s Ayseebee Rumour Has It, smart b/t of 11 months & mature for age. Liked his size & type, well put together & smart in outline. He has well filled front, good depth & length of ribbing & sound quarters. Masculine head, good neck & topline, moved soundly & freely keeping a good shape; 2 Gittins’ Mr Bo Jangles at Boomerloo, well made b/t of 10 months who pleased for overall shape with good bone & neat feet. Loved his conical head & expression, good neck, enough front, good depth to ribbing & well angulated rear. At present not as settled or mature as 1 but moved out well with good rear drive & shows promise. JD (5) 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Casablanca, elegant b/t youngster whose good conformation & sound movement won him this class. Lovely make & shape, well balanced fore & aft, attractive head, good neck & front, well ribbed back, nicely angulated quarters. Moved out soundly with a free easy stride in profile keeping a firm topline. In lovely coat & condition. Liked him a lot; 2 Protheroe’s Royalmaple Anky Panky, attractive red of a pleasing type & overall shape. Liked his masculine head, dark eye & pleasing expression, has well filled front, good topline, nice depth & spring of rib, well made rear. Sinks a little on the stack but carries himself well on the move with a good driving action. Just preferred length of rib of 1; 3 Scott’s Danton Mr Brown at Wolferlow. PGD (4) 1 Ergis’ Siouxline Aaron, ultra smart sh/r boy with smooth flowing outline, lovely headpiece carried on lengthy neck, good front & rear angulation, ribbing goes well back with short loin, well made rear with short hocks & neat feet. Moved soundly both ways & freely in profile. Well handled & immaculately presented; 2 Smith’s Wolferlow Admiral Nelson, well presented b/t who pleased for type & overall shape. Has lovely houndy head, enough front, well sprung deep ribbing & good rear angulation. Would like a little more ground clearance but moved out smartly using his short hocks to really drive. Showed well; 3 Dunhill’s Santorna Adam for Gellijam. LD (4) 1 Paget & Carroll’s Bronia Valente of Marvale, this super quality b/t lad had immediate appeal. Loved his type, style & deportment. He is well balanced of a pleasing size with a firm well knit body & lovely to go over. Liked his houndy head & dark eye, reachy neck & good head carriage, well filled front & snug fitting elbows, ribs are well sprung & go well back. Short loin & well angulated quarters. Moved out soundly with forward reach & drive & good ground clearance. Was shown in lovely coat & condition. A good little showman who put in a polished performance to take CC & BOB; 2 Phillips’ Carpaccio Mr Selfridge of Robinswood, lovely  headed b/t, good neck & topline, nicely put together & well constructed throughout with balanced angulation fore & aft. Good bone & neat feet. At almost 2 years still needs to carry more body condition & firm up a tad behind. Moved out smartly & a nice prospect. OD (5) Good class of quality boys. 1 Ergis’ Ch Siouxline Flynn Rider, immaculately presented shaded/r of a super type & quality. Loved his clean lines & smooth flowing outline. Well constructed throughout with good top & underlines, balanced angulation fore & aft. Elegant head carried on reachy neck. Moved soundly with good extension in profile. A worthy ch. Liked him a lot. RCC; 2 Blackburn’s Stargang Tiger Feet, well made b/t of a lovely size & type with good bone & substance. Pleased in outline, lovely houndy head, reachy neck & good head carriage. Well constructed front, good depth & length of ribbing, strong well angulated rear, moved soundly & freely & close up to 1. Unfortunately arrived late & was rushed in the ring & not quite settled; 3 Protheroe’s Grandgables Crafty Lil Devil at Royalmaple.

MPB (2) Two promising girls. 1 Reed’s Deercroft Deep Secret, delightful b/t baby of just 6 months, very composed, has a lovey temperament & showed well. Liked her make & shape & pleasing to go over. Lovely for size with pretty head, good neck & front angulation with close fitting elbows, long ribbing & well made rear. Moved out soundly & freely; 2 Allen’s Kernowdax Hazel Rose, this smart 6 months shaded/r girl is completely different in type & shape but also has a lot to like. Lovely shaped head & dark eye, super neck & topline, well anuglated fore & aft with lovely bone & neat feet. Moved out smartly with good ground clearance. At present not quite as forward as 1 in her development or as steady on the move but has plenty of time. PB (2) 1 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Star Anise, elegant b/t of 9 months of a pleasing make & shape, loved her smooth flowing outline, super head & expression, reachy neck into well laid shoulder, good depth & length of rib, well angulated quarters with short hocks & neat feet, moved true away & back with lovely rear drive & freely in profile. BP; 2 Paget & Carroll’s Bronia Maddalena of Marvale, attractive shaded/r of almost 12 months, lovely type, well balanced & neat all through. Pretty feminine head, good forehand & well ribbed. Holds a firm outline on the move & strides out freely. JB (1) 1 Protheroe’s Am Ch Grandgables Ms Ever So Yummy at Royalmaple, this 17 months shaded/r has a good head & lovely dark eye, reachy neck, well developed oval front & good depth to ribs. Was not quite relaxed on the stack but is a happy enthusiastic mover & carries herself well. PGB (6) 1 Reed’s Deercroft Summer Serenade, this delightful shaded/r young lady pleased for size & type. Has a touch of elegance about her. She is very feminine in outlook & I loved her overall shape & balance. Attractive head, good length of neck, well made front with close fitting elbows, long ribbing, short loin & nicely angulated rear. She moved very soundly away & back with good reach & drive & holds her outline so well on the go round. Pleased to award RCC; 2 Price’s Brianolf Pink Sapphire with Samlane, another lovely red girl who was immaculately presented & in lovely gleaming coat & condition. Loved her head shape & dark eye, well made throughout with well sprung ribs & good bone & neat feet. Bit of a madam at times but was sympathetically handled to get the best out of her. Moved smartly with good rear drive; 3 Scott’s Wolferlow Mary Quant. LB (7) Quality all down the line. 1 Scott’s Wolferlow Anthea, this quality b/t showed really well & moved soundly with good forward reach & drive. She has a beautiful outline with good body proportions, has width & substance, good bone & neat feet, well filled forechest, long ribbing & nicely angulated quarters. Ideally would like a tad more ground clearance but a lovely bitch; 2 Ergis & Melbourne’s Siouxline Rapunzel with Melriding, very feminine shaded/r of pleasing size & type, neat all through. Loved her overall soundness & balance, well constructed fore & aft, holds herself well with a firm topline. Moved freely & has lovely outgoing temperament. Close decision, liked her a lot; 3 Paget & Carroll’s Bronia Vittoria of Marvale. OB (3|) 1 Hunt’s Barrantini Jennifer Eccles at Carpaccio, classy shaded/ r of a super type & quality & lovely to go over. She has a most appealing head & expression which is carried on a reachy neck, well filled oval front, excellent shoulder & upper arm with close fitting elbows, well sprung ribs that are carried well back, short loin & well angulated rear. Stands on good bone & neat feet with lovely ground clearance. Moved true with a free easy stride. Immaculately presented in tip top condition & lovely gleaming coat. Pleased to award her CC; 2 Blackburn_Bennett’s Ch Lokmadi Seaholly at Stargang, this lovely quality red bitch is really well constructed & presents an excellent clean cut outline, lovely conical head & good length of neck, excellent ribbing & well angulated quarters. Moved & showed well with good ring presence & a worthy ch. Just preferred front of 1 today.
