MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
It was a great honour to be asked to judge at the world’s most famous dog show.
I would like to thank the officers and committee for the appointment. All the
dogs were new to me, which gave me a fresh eye over the exhibits. I thank all
the exhibitors for their entries and accepting my decision in a sportsmanlike
way. I was pleased with my principal winners and feel we are heading forward
with the recent diagnosis of the Cord-1 eye problem. We must not put the breed
in jeopardy and lose all our breed type and quality. This will not happen
overnight and we must be selective in our use of stud dogs, after all, with
careful and selective breeding, we can move forward. We must not use inferior
stud dogs just because they are clear as this will jeopardise our breed and
shrink the gene pool, therefore creating more problems in the future. I found no
bad mouths and just a few dirty teeth. All exhibits were presented in first
class condition and I found no thin dogs. Pigmentation that has been a problem
was excellent, lovely dark nails and eyes.
VD 1 Luke’s Corrieknowe Circassian. Smart black and tan of 10 years
old, masculine head, correct front and shoulders, covered the ring with ease and
strode out well on the move with great front extension. 2 Mendes’ Scharmein
Khan. Black and tan, heavier built dog than one. I preferred the shoulder
placement of first today, moved out well.
Sp PD 1 Reed’s Deercroft Double Dare. Black and tan who was giving the
handler a hard time, correct head and front, moved out well covering the ground,
just needs to mature to finish the picture. 2 Young’s Youngline Dream Keeper.
Red who I have never seen look better, he is maturing nicely and looks better
for more weight, classic head, well arched neck, moved out well. 3 Lombardelli’s
Kelmbeck Lord Of The Isles. Immature black and tan who needs time to settle and
mature.
Sp JD (3) Class of varying types. 1 Settle’s Siouxline
Cristopher Robin. Smart red, pleasing head, neck and front, best mover in the
class, moved and showed well. 2 Bourne’s Yaapeet Uriel. Black and tan of heavier
type to first, excellent ribbing but for me I would like more length of neck. 3

correct almong eye, well filled front, correct shoulders, lovely ribbing keeping
a correct topline at all times, well angulated hindquarters, covered the ring
with ease, pushed hard for the CC. Pleased to award him the RCC, sure to have a
great future. 2 Medley’s Wingcrest Highland Fling. Smart shaded red who moved
out well, but for me I preferred the shoulder placement of first. 3 Burton’s
Swingletrees Ready-Teddy-Go. Red, losing his topline on the move today and needs
some good road walking to strengthen his hindquarters.
PGD(8, 2) 1 McAulay’s  Elnside Woody Be Best. Easy winner in this class
today, smart red, for me I would prefer a better head, looks a picture standing
and moving, nice hindquarters, covered the big ring with purpose. 2 Thorne’s
Lord At The Dance With Knockboy,  Brindle who has improved with age, pleasing
head, nice front, shorter nails would make the feet look better, moved out well.
3 Burton’s Swingletrees Ready-Teddy-Go.
LD (14, 1) 1 Roberts’ Denver Midnight Sun. Shaded red, was the best
mover in the class, scores well in head, neck and front, well filled front, well
angulated hindquarters, more weight would finish the picture. 2 Mead’s Minimead
Minisota. Red, very different type to first, different type of head, well filled
front, correct shoulders, well sprung ribs, moved out well keeping a pleasing
outline. 3 Shelton’s Barisse High Endeavour. Red of similar type to second, but
I preferred the hindquarters of second.
OD (10, 3) 1 Melbourne’s Ch Melriding De Lafayette JW. I have
always admired this dog and he did not disappoint on handling. He gives the
handler a hard time as he is so happy he tends to relax, masculine head without
coarseness, lovely well filled front, correct shoulders, excellent prosternum,
well sprung rib, keeps a perfect topline, lovely feet, moved out well with great
style and verve, pleased to award him the CC. Congratulations. 2 Callow’s Ch

will change places another day. 3 Ergis’ Ch Siouxline Indigo JW ShCM. Different
type again, well known champion, moved out well.
Good Citizen D (2) 1 Ashwell-Carter’s Ch Siouxline Isaac JW ShCM.
Another well known champion enjoying his day out.
VB (5, 1) 1 Mitchell’s Ch Switherland Lucia At Bronia. 12 year
old red who I have admired, she looks a picture standing and can still move with
the best of them, pretty head and expression, moved with great style and
purpose, just could not deny her the RCC, much to a surprised handler! 2
Callow’s Garthorne Lady In Black. Smart bitch who was unlucky to meet first
today, nice head, neck and front, moved out well. 3 Macdonald’s D’Arisca
Shameless At Bensarka. Similar type to second but for me she lacked animation on
the move.
Sp PB (11, 1) This was a difficult class as so many different
types and I was splitting hairs between the first two and perhaps another day my
decision will be reversed. 1 Muggleton’s Mosiarto Beautiful Belle. Smart red who
is maturing nicely, sweet head and expression, correct well filled front, well
placed shoulders, well sprung ribs, well angulated hindquarters, keeps a lovely
outline at all times, moved with purpose, pleased to award her BP. Sure she will

handled to get the best out of her. 3 Williams’ Cwmdarhian Mizz Lucy Lou. Smart
red who is maturing nicely, moved and shown well to show off her best qualities.
Sp JB  (5, 2) Difficult class as all were different types. 1
Hughes’ Minimead Maid To Love For Julidachs. Best mover in the class, a little
shy, correct head and front, moved out well. 2 Burley’s Mowbray Mona Lisa By
Arbennik. Very different type to first, I preferred the more elegant line of

be my winner but today she lost her topline on the move.

Yewlitt Amelia. Black and tan who has everything in the right place, but today
she was not putting 100 per cent in on the move.
PGB(15, 2) 1 McAulay’s Elnside Truffles For One. Smart black
and tan who won this class with ease. For me I would like a better head, well
constructed front, well angulated hindquarters that moved with drive. 2
Salisbury’s Barratini Analisa At Brocklewood. Different type to one, sweet
bitch, has lots to offer when she matures and settles, shows a lot of promise. 3
Hartley’s Bronia Dancing Mandy At Lyrosh. Smaller black and tan, nice to go
over, moved out well.
LB (16, 3) 1 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Lotus Elite. Smart
well marked brindle, she was the star of my day. I have admired her from the
ringside and she did not disappoint on handling her. Your hands just flow over
her, from her elegant head set on a well arched neck, correct well filled front,
well placed shoulders, excellent well sprung ribs, classic outline, text book
hindquarters which gave thrust on the move, moved with verve and great style,
she is a joy to watch, she could not be denied the CC and well deserved BOB, she
looked a real picture in the Group. Congratulations, sure her title isn’t far
away, beautifully handled to get the best out of her. 2 Seath’s Sunsong Sea
Mist. Smaller bitch who I have admired from the ringside, she has a correct head
and expression, well filled front, correct well placed shoulders, keeps a
pleasing outline at all times, moves with great style, pressed hard for the RCC,
one I am sure will be hitting the high spots. 3 Melbourne &Holdsworth’s
