MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
I was delighted to accept the appointment at this level. I first judged
Dachshunds in 1973, so those of you with doubts about the Group Judges
Development Scheme it definitely is not a fast track for most of us. Quality in
general was good. I felt vindicated for weighing as those with a larger frame
and close to the mark all carried condition and none were scraggy or
undernourished. Heads differed somewhat with a minority losing expression due to
larger than ideal eyes. Although movement varied there were no cripples, all
being fit for function. There were quality dogs but on the day bitches were by
far the stronger sex. Thank you for a decent entry and for the sporting
atmosphere.
