MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED

Thank you for a lovely entry. Some quality exhibits, especially in bitches. Most were typical type animals. I found front movement on the whole quite acceptable. Rear movement in some failed to please. A number toeing in quite badly, an ugly fault. Also lack of extension on moving giving a stilted gait. Most were beautifully presented with gleaming coats and clean teeth. A few were in need of a bath and teeth were not acceptable, no excuse for this. Weight was not a problem, only a few who needed more weight. No use being under 11 lb if body condition is poor. Nowadays with the new rule I would not penalise an animal that is a few ounces over the ideal if it pleased me overall.  MPD . (9). Promising babies. 1. Roberts', Denver Midnight Sun. BP and RCC. Shaded red. What a lovely start for this baby. Only 6 months old and his first show. So full of promise. Correct constructiuon all through. Well bodied. Extrovert character. Moved around the ring like he owned it. Loved him. 2. Coxon and Melbourne's, D'Arisca Goes Dutch with Melriding. Black and tan. Typy. Well bodied. Well developed front. Kept his shape at all times. Moved freely. 3. Herrington's, Coeur de Lion. PD. (5). Not as strong in quality as MP. 1. Shutt's, Just Dreaming at Donnadoon. Chocolate. Attractive puppy. Nice shape with a well developed front. At the moment hs is turning his feet out slightly coming to you but movement ok otherwise. 2. Hutchinson's, Moongarm Who's the Daddy. Nice neck leading into decent shoulders. Sound mover. He cuts up a shade which spoils the overall picture somewhat. 3. Williams's, Cwmdarhian to Hot to Handle. JD. (2). 1. McAiley's, Kinside Woody be Best. Little between him and the second. Typy boy. Pleasing front and length of ribbing. Looked well moving. He is a shade wide going away but prefer this to narrowness. nice condition. 2. Callow's, Garthorne Top Gear. Very close to winner. Good length of neck leading into decent shoulders. Moved well in profile and in front. Just needs to steady behind. ND. (2). 1. Herrington's, Kathington Coeur De Lion. Came up from a nice MP class. Little wrong with this baby. Excellent front construction and keel. Good length of neck. Sound, but is so full of himself on the move. Needs time to settle. PGD. (6). Not a great class quality wise. 1. Hartley's, Minimead Malachi at Lyrosh. Red in lovely condition. Nice front and feet. Moved soundly. A shade stuffy in neck. 2 Jones's, Radcliffe Pinicola. Black and tan. Looked well standing but not as well on the move. Close in fornt coming to me. 3. Winchurch's, Brianolf Malachite. LD. (7). Much better class. 1. Ergis's, Siouxline Maverick. Very showy. Liked his head. Lovely neckline and shoulders. Moved freely keeping his shape. Would prefer a little more width in front. 2. Melbourne's, Melriding Jerome. Red. Cobbier type. Masculine head. Well developed front and hindquarters. Moved soundly. 3. Macdonald's, Bensarka the Midas Touch. OD. (9). Quality boys of varying types. 1. Melbourne's, Melriding de Lafayette. CC. Black and tan. What a lovely boy. Real Dachshund in Miniature. Excellent head, neck and shoulders. Good length of ribbing. Strong well angulated hindquarters. Moved really well with style. His second CC. Sure to gain his crown. 2. Ergis's, Siouxline Indigo. Shade shorter than winner. Well constructed all through. All this exhibitors dogs really show themselves off especially on the move. Nice dog. 3. Herrington's, Kathington Chance n Counter. MPB . (9). Promising girls here. 1. Dunn's, Bronia Goly Miss Molly at Ashridge, BPB. Black and tan. Just loved this girl. In lovely condition. Same sire as the BP dog and very similar type wise. So feminine. Everything flows from th tip of her nose to her tail. Well developed all through. Good ribbing. Strong quarters with short hocks. Looked good on the table and moving. The boy just had that little bit more sparkle when competing for BP. 2. Hunt's, Carpaccio Valenting. Sweet baby. Good keel and shoulders. Nicely angulated behind. Kept a level topline on the move. Sound. Hasn't quite the length of neck of winner. 3. Robert's, Denver Darling Blossom. PB. (7). 1. Robinson's, D'risca Barratini Bouquet. Black and tan. Quality one. Beautiful shape. Really well constructed. Feminine head. In lovely gleaming condition. 2. McAulay's, Einside Secret Love. Very similar in type to winner. Satisfying to go over. Moved well. Perhaps a shade round in eye but a sweet girl. 3. Melbourne and Holdsworth's, Barrantini Hubble Bubble at Melriding. JB. (9). 1. Hunt's, Carpaccio Royal Parade. RCC. This lovely black and tan caught my eye when she entered the ring. Full of quality. Pretty head. Lovely length of neck. Well filled fornt. Correct shoulders and hindquarters. Moved with soundness and style. 2. Richardson's, Belazieth Magic Pearl. Very lovely bitch. Quality all through. Excellent front and feet. Sound, stylish mover. Kept her shape at all times. 3. Mead's, Minimead Miz Luccy Lou. NB. (2). 1. Herrington's, Barisse High Spirits at Kathington. Red. Came up from a lovely MP class. Pretty baby with good angulation front and rear. Nicely made. Just needs to lengthen as yet. Sound. 2. Melbourne's, Melriding Rosa Mundi. 10 months old shaded red. Another one who needs to lengthen somewhat. Well developed front. Sound coming to me. Needs to steady in hind movement at the moment. PGB. (12). 1. Russell's, Rustick Peatbog Fairy. Liked this bitch very much. Excellent shoulders which are lacking in many exhibits. Lovely shape standing and moving. Well presented and handled. 2. Barnber's, Pattons Little Eva by Rivergate. Stylish, sould little girl. Shaded red. Similar remarks to winner. Carries herself very well with good head carriage. Very nice. 3. Seath's, Carpaccio Aquamarine at Sunsong. LB. (12). Not an easy class as there were some good bitches down the line. 1. Callow's, Garthorne Gazania. This exhibitors always presents her stock well. This girl was in lovely condition. Extremely sound mover. Looked well standing and moving. Unlucky on the day but her time will come I'm sure. 2. Ergis's, Siouxline Evangalina. Another very typy elegant bitch from this kennel. Good shoulders and level topline standing and moving. Very free sound mover. 3. Lombardelli's, D'Arisca Dawn Till Dusk at Kelmbeck. OB. (4). 1. Coxon's, Ch D'Arisca Golden Delicious. CC, BOB and BIS. Shaded red. Have not seen this girl before, but have read much about her. On examination everything flows. Good front. Excellent ribbing. Strong well angulated quarters. Full of quality. Deserves all her lovely wins in the breed and Groups. So pleased she went BIS. 2. Lonardelli', D'Arisca From Dawn Till Dusk at Kelmbeck. Came up from third in a strong Limit class. Very pleasing type. Good feet and bone. Moved well. Would have preferred more length in head but a well deserved place. 3. Jones's, Radcliffe Q'eider.
