MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED
Thank you to those who exhibited under me as I was a substitute judge. I was generally pleased with the quality of exhibits: Dirty teeth were the exception, and bone was better than I had previously seen. No exhibits were either overweight nor looked as if they were starved to make the weight so congratulations to the breeders for maintaining the "dachshund in miniature". In miniature smooths there was greater depth of quality in the bitches and I was very pleased with my final line-up. The miniature wires were generally softer in coat than I would have liked.
JD. (1). 1. Maxted's Detravis Mr Bone Aparte von Lutscher Sh/R. Strong
head and good eye. Prominent prosternum. Good overall height to length ratio.
Would need to drop and could benefit from more muscling on his hind end. RBD.
OD. (3.1) 1. Melbourne's Melriding Jerome. Red dog who won class on
better proportions. Nice eye and front. Good neck and rear angulation used to
drive on move. BD. 2. McFadyen Tamdach Taboo. B&T with good length. Didn't move
as well as 1.
PB. (4). 1. Hunt's Carpaccio Royal Parade. B&T well up to size. Good
head and bone. Nice length. Strode out well keeping outline at all times. Good
length of ribbing. RBB & BPIB. 2. Coxon's D'Arisca Come Dancing. Red just 6
months. Needing to drop and mature but my notes read "everything to like". 3.
Melbourne Melriding Rosa Mundi.
JB. (3) 1. Russell's Russteck Peatbog Fairy. B&T with nice head and
length of rib. Good prosternum. Flowing movement. Well handled. 2. Melbourne's
Bartini Hubble Bubble at Melriding. Much smaller bitch but well proportioned.
Well angulated and moved well. 3. McFadyen's Tamdach Tallafruid.
PGB. (5,1) 1.Rowell's Emmajesk Amelia B&T. Well angulated with
good width. Head not her best feature but made up for it with length of ribbing
and movement. 2. Maxted's Detravis Just One Look at Lutscher. Well made B&T with
good front. Needs to drop. 3. Potts' D'Arisca Ocelot Orchid.
OB. (2). 1. Coxon's Ch/Am/Can Ch Grandgables Tickle My Fancy. Brindle
bitch with excellent neck and front. Good length. Excellent outline that was
maintained as she strode strongly round the ring. BB & BOB. Delighted to see her
go Group 4. 2. McFadyen's Tammy's Girl at Tamdach. B&T. Good chest and nice
length. Moved well at front holding her profile.
