Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired)

Judge : Gwen Newbury

I was very pleased with both the quality and quantity of my entry. Since I last judged this variety I find that fronts are better and hindquarters are much improved, with hocks well let down and generally moving well. There are, however, some otherwise good exhibits displaying a definite wobble in the rear leg, usually the left, which caused me much concern and was heavily penalised. There is some weakness here which without attention could be difficult to eliminate.

Sp O Under 10lb. (8). 1. Shutt’s, Donnadoon Duchess nicely balanced deep bodied b/tan, good reach of neck and shoulder placement, soundly constructed and moves well front and rear. 2. Melbournes Melriding Heloise Grace. Mature b/tan good top and underline, strong head, kept a nice outline on the move, preferred 1st hind action 3. Robinsons DArisca in Bloom at Inkel.
