It was an honour to be invited to judge Best in Show at this prestigious show; the blue ribbon for Miniature Dachshunds. Best in Show was Walters’ Ralines Party Politics M/L. A champion in waiting. Quality exhibit to go over with so much to admire. Feminine in head which is of the correct conical shape with plenty in under jaw. Good eye shape which gives off a true expression all finished off with well placed ears. She is reachy in neck which flows into a clean front assembly with plenty in forechest. She is well ribbed which is carried back to a firm loin. She stands on correct bone with neat compact feet. On the out and back she displays easy reach and drive whilst holding her top line on the go around. Presented in excellent coat and condition. Pleased to award her Best in Show her time cannot be too far away! Reserve Best in Show went to Thorn-Andrews’ Drakesleat Drop Dead Gorgeous M/W. So typical of this kennel. Excellent for breed type. Scores in head, eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a well filled fore chest. Excellent ribbing which is carried well back to a firm loin. She has plenty in her rear angles with short parallel hocks. Her jacket was well presented and she moved positively whilst holding a pleasing outline on the go around. Will probably be holding her crown soon! Sub Group 3 went to Kent, Lokmadi Jingle Belle M/S. Has good breed type. Feminine all through, correct proportions in head with a dark eye. Overall balance on the stack is good. Bone and feet correct. Moved out steadily and was well presented. Best Puppy in Show was Wood’s Wildstar Wrolanda M/L. Another quality exhibit from this kennel. So good to go over on the table. Feminine head qualities with correct proportions. Super eye and expression. Reachy in neck which leads to a clean front assembly. Ribbing is good with a level top line. She is well angulated in her rear with strong parallel hocks. She displayed a free flowing action with correct rear drive whilst holding a true outline on the go around. As usual presentation was one hundred percent. Should have a bright future! Reserve Best Puppy in Show went to Magri Bronia Cellini Rozamie M/S. Promising youngster with plenty to admire. Scores in head, eye and expression. Plenty in neck with good ribbing. Stands on good bone with compact feet. Overall body proportions are good, just needs to gain confidence in general but did move out steadily. Sub Group 3 west, Archidax Hocus Pocus M/W. Typey all through and did move out well. Very raw at this stage but in time this will come. Best Veteran in Show went to Ergis, Ch Siouxline Rapunzel with Melriding M/S. Hard to believe this exhibit is 8 years old. Just my type for overall make, shape and balance. Elegant all through. Correct in head eye and expression. Excellent neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Plenty in rib with a firm top line and correct underline. Loin has strength which leads to a well angulated rear. She has quality in bone with compact feet. On the out and back she displayed excellent rear drive with good forward reach whilst holding a level top line on the go around. I was reminded later on that I have awarded her 2 Reserve CC’s. Once as a puppy and once as an adult. Pleased to see she wears her crown! Reserve Best Veteran in Show Broad’s Neertanaug Sea Magic JW ShCM M/L. 11 year old and still putting in a shift. Correct in head, eye and expression. Plenty in neck with good ribbing. Top line ok. Bone and feet are correct. Presented in glorious coat and condition. Moved out steadily both ways. Sub Group 3 Black’s Ch Bassodon Westwood M/W completing a trio of golden oldies.
