DACHSHUND CLUB OF WALES 2017

Judge : Andrea Callow

Best in Show

I would like to thank the Dachshund Club of Wales for my appointment to judge Best In Show, and the breed judges for sending me a lovely selection of dogs to go over. I throughly enjoyed my day. BIS McNaughton's Long Cedavoch The Alchemist, a true example of the breed. Elegant with good head, reachy neck into clean shoulders, tight elbows with prominent forechest, strong hind angulation, true moving up and down. In profile his movement was free flowing, lovely to watch. Congratulations. RBIS McCalmont's Wire Ch Silvae Solo. Stunning girl who also excelled in her free flowing movement, and a lot of the same remarks, so well balanced both standing and moving. Good harsh coat and condition, liked a lot. Close decision. BPIS Blackburn-Bennett's Min Smooth Stargang Cherry Berry. A little cracker, good size with beautiful head. Correctly angulated shoulder, tight elbows, good body proportions leading to neat angulated rear. Short hocks, lovely sound movement, if a little enthusiastic at times. Most promising future. RBPIS Thorn-Andrews min wire, Alncroft Over The Moon Drakesleat. Excellent promising baby puppy. Good head on reachy neck, neat front, and rear angulation with good bend of stifle. Moved soundly keeping a lovely outline. One to watch. BVIS Higgins Smooth, Ch Leveliss What She Said. Elegant young veteran who moved extremely well, not putting a foot wrong. Lovely outline at all times, in super condition. Pleased to award her BVIS.
