BEST IN SHOW

I was so sorry to hear of the indisposition of the original BIS judge, Dorothy Hanney, to whom we wish all the best and I was honoured to be asked to be the replacement judge. It was a very pleasant, well run show and from a quality line up I chose McFaul's, Ch/Int Ch. Darsoms Zwagerson for BIS. He came through from a strong Veteran class looming absolutely superb from all angles. Lovely head and eye, strong muzzle, gleaming white teeth and lovely feathered ears. Super construction. Excellent hindquarters with very good second thigh. Thick well padded feet. Immaculate coat and presentation. I think he looks even better than ever. RBIS was Coxon's, Red M/Smooth, Ch. D'arisca Golden Delicious. I have often admired for her outstanding profile movement, so well balanced in reach and drive reflecting her correct shoulders and turn of quarters. Pleasant head. Lovely neck, top and well ribbed underline. Well boned and good feet. BPIS was Brown's, M/long. Rafthouse Raising Hell at Garhosa. Choc/tan I have judged before and now looks more mature. Liked his head and eye. Very good forehand showing sound front movement. Enough neck. Level topline. Well ribbed, decent quarters although I would prefer more second thigh, but he moved well enough to gain this award. RBPIS was Blackburns', M/wire Stargang Red October. Lovely head, eye and ear set. Thick, dense and coarse coat. Well formed front for age. Super bone and feet. Chunky well ribbed back body. Ran up slightly in profile on the move but was very exuberant and quite a handful. - when he gets his act together will be one for the future.
