It was an honour & a privilege to judge this breed at this level for the first time. The showground & layout was, as usual, excellent. I thank Windsor committee for giving me this appointment & also my two very efficient stewards for keeping my ring running so smoothly. The quality was first class & the competition very strong. I thank the exhibitors for the pleasure of being able to go over their dogs & their good grace in accepting my decisions.

V (1) 1 Clifford’s Ablebody Razzmatazz, this 7 years dog stood on his own but it is always a joy to judge veterans. Nice head & expression. Good feathering to face. Long strong neck into well angled shoulders. Good in body & topline. Used his angles on the move, good drive & extension. PD (2) Two lovely babies. 1 Arthurs’ Hototo’s Bark At The Moon, good feathering & texture to his coat. Liked head & expression. Strong neck. Liked his angles front & rear. Nice body condition. Moves with confidence & style. BP over a lovely puppy bitch; 2 Bates & Maes-Jones’ Derochaise Versace, another stunner, made so well. Has all the angles & proportions, just not as confident on the move today. JD (3) 1 Sorensen’s Tendrow Time After Time, a clear red boy of style & character. A more compact shape yet good balance of ribcage to loin. Liked head & expression. Strong neck, good angles front & rear used to effect on the move; 2 H Bark At The Moon, different shape completely yet balance of body excellent. Nice head & expression. Strong, long neck into good shoulders & front. Well bodied with strong topline. Good rear giving plenty of drive on the more; 3 Moore & Downes’ Megline Atticus. PGD (3) 1 T Time After Time; 2 Bellamy’s Veenen Onyx Resetin Gold at Garjay, a nicely made boy showing all the characteristics I was looking for. Good head & expression. Strong neck. Good angles used well on the move. Sound body, good topline; 3 Davis’ Knottsrose Monkey Puzzle. LD (5) 1 Phillips’ Wiretap Here I Am, liked this lovely red boy a lot. Masculine head of good ratios. Strong neck into very good front, plenty of forechest, well ribbed back & strong loin. Good angles at rear. In first class condition. Moved very well to take the RCC; 2 Hinder’s Aventine The King’s General, another good mover. Different type to 1. Liked head shape & expression. Nice front & rear angles. Plenty of forechest. Angled rear used to good effect on the move; 3 Sorensen’s Jethard Just Jive. OD (8) This was a smashing class & a great pleasure to judge. 1 Moore’s Metewand Bogen By The Sea, this very handsome dog stood out for me today. Masculine head with good feathering. Long, strong neck. Well angled front & rear. Plenty of forechest & well ribbed back. Good body condition, strong topline. Rear angles give plenty of drive on the move. Super mover, sound & stylish. Delighted to award him the CC, his fourth I’m told, & BOB; 2 Warren’s Wagsford Lincoln, another very handsome hound. Looks super on the stack. Such a sound, honest dog. Masculine head. Well made body. Good rear angulation. Free mover of style; 3 Seath’s Ch Zlowfox Av Larhjelm at Sunsong. GC (0).

PB (6,1a) I thought the first three outstanding. 1 Dean’s Brontillow Grace Darling, a lovely girl with the best yet to come. Looks a picture standing & really comes into her own, on the move. Feminine head yet showing strength. Liked her expression & feathering. Long, strong neck flows into a well laid shoulder & excellent return. Prominent forechest, well ribbed back, good proportion of rib to loin which gives a very strong topline. Abundant depth & spring of rib. Well angled rear complimenting front assembly. A happy girl sound in movement & certainly can drive & extend. The more I saw the better I liked her. RCC; 2 Phillips’ Tendrow Dancing On A Dream at Clipperdown, another lovely bitch with so much to like about her. Many of my comments for 1 apply here also. Needs to use her neck more. Good mover once settled; 3 Bates & Maes-Jone’ Derochaise Elusia. JB (5) A lovely class. 1 Sexton’s Molloney Ona Top, feminine head of nice proportions. Long, strong neck into good front. Well bodied with spring of ribs. In lovely condition. Good rear angles. Sound & free mover; 2 Seath’s Sunsong Wish Me Luck, beautiful head showing balance & strength. Like her body condition, good shape. Front & rear angulation compliment each other. Certainly can move. Unlucky to meet 1 today; 3 Rowe’s Boloria’s Tiger Lily. PGB (6) There was little to separate the first two. 1 Jackson Fields’ Ablebody Maybe Baby, lovely feminine bitch showing style on the move. Liked her head & expression. Good neck. Adequate front angles, stands well over feet. Strong body. Her rear complimenting her front. Together this allows the sound free movement that I like; 2 Bubb’s Rocinda Dora for Wyeknot, a nice bitch of good shape & proportions. Uses her complimenting angles back & front to effect on the move; 3 Clayton-Smith’s Boloria’s April Fool. LB (5) First two very close. 1 Brown’s November Storm for Ablebody, presents a lovely picture when standing & doesn’t let you down on the move. Feminine head with long neck. Makes the most of her angles front & rear. Lovely body condition, deep chested & well ribbed back; 2 Phillips’ Hototo Swellegant Gal at Tendrow, another lovely bitch. She has all the breed characteristics. Well put together & shows herself to advantage; 3 Coverley’s Aventine Dawn Patrol. OB (4) Four beautiful bitches. I liked them all very much. 1 Rowe’s Boloria’s Naughty But Nice, this one is quite a stunner. Lovely head for balance & shape. Liked expression. Long, strong neck used to advantage both stacked & on the move. Front & rear angulation compliment each other. Very good body condition. Plenty of forechest, good depth & well ribbed back. Strong topline. A joy to watch on the move. Very sound with good extension & drive. She is quite the showgirl & handled to perfection. I was delighted to award her the CC, apparently her third, well done; 2 McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Solo, another lovely bitch. Longer than my first but everything in good balance. Feminine head with nice feathering. Strong neck into well angled front assembly. Excellent body with plenty of forechest & good ribbing to loin ratio. Moves nicely extending to cover the ground; 3 Bates & Maes-Jones’ Ch Derochaise Elegancia.
