WIRE HAIRED

Rear movement was generally poor, feet need watching, correct tight knuckled feet are very much in the minority. Some exhibits were narrow with no spring of rib. I found one or two level bites & one exhibit with incorrect number of teeth. There were only a handful with any muscletone & presentation could be improved. Some exhibits looked like they hadn’t even had a comb through them. I was very pleased with my principal winners.

Temperaments were lovely.

PD (2,1a) 1 Dible & Moon’s Lieblings Stormin Norman, harsh coated red, 10 months, lovely head & eye, prominent forechest, good bone but could do with tighter feet. Well ribbed, correct hindquarters, good tailset. At the very rangy stage & needs to fill out & drop, needs to tighten in rear action. BPD. JD (2,1) 1 Moore’s Cloudside Harvey, brindle, good body coat, leg hair could be harsher. Masculine head, good mouth, good bone but could do with better feet. Would prefer a shade more forechest. Good ribbing, hindquarters OK, good tailset. Tends to run up slightly when moving. Steady mover. PGD (4,1) 1 Vine’s Cishelvine Seaswell, brindle, very smart, lovely size, excellent bone with lovely feet, good head & eye, correct mouth, prominent forechest, excellent ribbing, well angulated hindquarters with good tailset, deep bodied. Presents a good picture when moving, sound, does give handler a hard time & I think he would benefit from some hard exercise; 2 Rowe’s Boloria Calico Jack, dark brindle with excellent coat, good bone, feet OK, lovely head with good eye, excellent ribbing, nice hindquarters, moved OK. Just a shade too long which unbalances him & he loses his outline when moving; 3 Lever’s Reveldown Glenmorangie. LD (6,2) 1 Phillips’ Tendrow Special Format, dark brindle, lovely size, good coat, well balanced, good head & eye, nice bone, feet & ribbing OK, excellent hindquarters & tailset. Fights his handler all the time on the stack but comes into his own moving, which won him this class; 2 Davis’ Teckelgarth Tom Thumb, lighter brindle, excellent masculine head, good forechest, deep bodied, good bone, feet OK. A bit straight in hindquarters. Level & moved well. Shade heavy over the shoulder; 3 Baxter’s Lankelly Timothy Grass at Kharmina. OD (1) 1 Rollinson’s Ch/Ir Ch Nosinllor Grenadier, dark brindle with good coat, looked cracking, excellent front construction, correct lay of shoulder, well angulated hindquarters, level standing & moving, just the right amount of weight, sound steady movement. Won the CC with something to spare. V (5,2) These oldies are a credit to their owners. 1 Harris’ Ch/SA Ch Silvae Blacksmith at Ritlo, 11 years very dark brindle who I gave a CC to some years ago. Still in fabulous condition with a coat you strike a match on, correct angulation, prominent forechest, well ribbed, showed the youngsters how to move. RCC; 2 Baxter’s Lankelly Saffron at Kharmina, 12 years bitch, feminine head, super forechest. Preferred hindquarters on dog & she is just losing her topline slightly but still a steady mover; 3 Barrett-Boyce’s Brocklewood Clementine.

PB (6,1) 1 Pughe & Fraser’s Bystock Black Inca, 11 months, very dark brindle, beautiful head, lovely bone, well angulated hindquarters. Prefer a shade more forechest. Well ribbed, moved out smartly keeping a lovely outline. Rather loose in hind movement. Expertly handled & presented. BP; 2 Gibson’s Allfreys Carolina, 9 months lighter brindle, lovely size, lovely front assembly with prominent forechest, well ribbed & nice hindquarters. A naughty puppy who plays her handler up (exactly as she should be at her age) & she was losing her topline very slightly moving, which cost her the class; 3 Seath’s Sunsong Gypsy Rose. JB (3) 1 Paterson’s Cloudside Isodora at Ambiesque, lovely sized dark brindle, gorgeous head, lovely eye, super forechest with well laid shoulder, bone & feet OK, good topline, well bodied, hindquarters OK, looks terrific on the move, lovely free striding movement; 2 Rollinson’s Nosinllor Joan Of Arc, super coated dark brindle, harsh right down to the tips of her toes, feminine head, good forequarter construction, well angulated hindquarters, moved soundly & level. Just a tad long in the body for my preference; 3 Seath’s Sunsong Gypsy Music. PGB (9,2) 1 Phillips’ Tendrow Special Reflection, lovely size, coat could be harsher. Pretty head, nicely angled, well ribbed, won this class on her lovely free movement; 2 N Joan Of Arc; 3 Vine’s Cishelvine Ocean Dream. LB (7) 1 Gibson’s Allfrey’s Ursula, won this class on her free, easy movement, brindle, feminine head & eye, excellent front construction, well angulated hindquarters, level & well ribbed. Coat could be harsher. Well handled; 2 Mease’s Vineacre Rock And Roll, lighter brindle, feminine head, nice forequarters, well bodied & ribbed, hindquarters OK. Touch roly-poly when moving. Expertly handled; 3 Coverley’s Aventine Vanilla Sky. OB (4) 1 Davies’ Ch Cempsey Centime by Atahira, brindle bitch I have admired since she was a puppy, substantial bitch but in no way coarse, feminine head with expressive eye, prominent forechest, well laid shoulder, lovely bone & super feet, ribbing goes right back, deep bodied, lovely hindquarters, correct harsh double coat right down to her toes, sound stylish mover, lovely coming towards me & showing her pads at the rear. CC & BOB; 2 Pughe & Fraser’s Ch Bystock Pumpkin Pie, brindle, lovely head, prominent forechest, not quite the layback of shoulder. Good bone & feet, well ribbed. Not as angulated in the rear as 1. Lovely in front action, not as positive in rear. RCC; 3 Poulter & McDonald’s Ch Lankelly Kelsey Rose.
