The Great Joint Dachshund Association Championship Show 29th Oct 2022 Smooth Haired Dachshund I was called in as a replacement to judge Di Melbourne’s entry, I hope that Di is soon on the mend. This was a well run show with a relaxed & happy atmosphere, thank you to the Committee for their hospitality.
MPD(1) 1 Coupland. Retrohound Hermes Promising b/t baby , just 6 mths & at his 1st show, pleases for size & type, liked his head & expression, of nice make & shape, moved out steadily, at present he is very raw & immature ( as is to be expected), just needs time to develop & come together.
JD (2) 1 Jones, Moes & Williams. Cwmdarhian Gordon Ramsay. Res CC This smart 12 mth red has a super clean outline that immediately catches the eye. Has a pleasing overall shape & is well constructed throughout. handsome conical head, arched neck & into firm topline, well filled oval thorax, lengthy ribbing & strong quarters, good bone & well bunched feet, moved out soundly & holds himself so well. A confident youngster , showing lots of promise. 2 Bethel. Hampdach Lord Flashheart A lot to like about this smart 15mth b/t, super conical head, reachy arched neck into firm topline, prominent prosternum with well filled forechest,well ribbed back, good bone & neat feet, moved out with a good stride, still needing to strengthen in hindquarters as at present moves a tad close, has plenty of time to mature, altogether a nice prospect.
YD (2,1) 1 Binks. Cedavoch Ocean Storm Quality red to whom I awarded BPIS @The Southern Dachshund Association Ch Show in Jan when he was 6mths, is now 15 mths & maturing nicely, is well made throughout & presents a very smart outline, has a lovely conical head, good bone & neat feet, strong muscular quarters, moved out smartly with good profile action
PGD (2) 1 Starkey. Carpaccio Magnum PI At Hamoura I liked this smart 18mth b/t youngster who is well bodied with good bone & substance, he is soundly made & well put together, has a lovely masculine head, good forechest & well sprung ribbing, firm in topline, moves out freely with good rear drive. 2 Hinwood. Adnerb Sheer Nanagins At Longmel Another pleasing b/t of 2 yrs, is slightly longer caste than 1, has lots to like & holds a smart outline, handsome head & eye, well filled front, good neck into firm topline, good depth to ribbing, moved out with a good stride, still needing to strengthen in hindquarters, at present moves a little close behind.
LD (5,1) 1 Heels. Daxanory Menacing Dennis Well presented 3yr red, who had the best outline & overall construction in this class, pleased in head/expression, well filled front, long ribbing & good rear angulation, moved out soundly & confidently with good stride in profile. 2 Smith & Connor. Conchur Silver Sword Smart 4yr silver dapple/tan, liked his make & shape, neat well made front & deep ribbing, has good bone & neat feet, attractive head/expression, hindquarters are well angulated and moves well in profile, however would prefer shorter hocks & tends to move close behind. 3 Cox. Dovestream Black Russian At Dachshinbull
OD (3) 1 Chauhan Ch.Raajput’s Blacky Returns. DCC & BOS Quality 2yr fully mature b/t, very masculine in outlook, soundly made with good conformation & firm well knit body, he holds a smart outline with balanced angulation in fore & hindquarters, good forechest, well ribbed back, pleases in both top & underline, well muscled quarters, moved soundly & freely with excellent rear drive. 2 Hunt. Ch.Lauralee Huckleberry Finn At Carpaccio JW Handsome 5yr red of high quality, well made throughout & smart in outline, liked his conical head & good reach of neck, is balanced in his angulation fore & aft with good depth & length of ribbing, good bone & feet. I thought that he would be my winner but for some reason today he was not driving from his rear & although he moved with a free stride, felt that he lacked that bit of sparkle for higher honours. 3 Macdonald. MPB (1) 1 Smith & Connor. Lejini A Fatal Inversion At Conchur Choc/dapple of just 6mths & very much a baby with a happy temperament, out of a smaller mould but all in proportion, pretty feminine head, good neck & topline, neat front & well angulated quarters, moved out smartly.
PB (3,1) 1 Cox. Bulldaxit Secret Love. BP Smart red of a pleasing make & shape, with happy disposition, loved her head & expression, neat & well made front, good bone & neat feet, good neck & topline, deep ribbing, nicely angulated quarters, moved out soundly. 2 Fennell. Nelly Very raw choc/tan , still very much a baby, out of a smaller mould with attractive feminine head, good neck & topline, well angulated quarters, not quite sure on the move, at present moves a little wide in front, however drives well from the rear, needing to grow on & needs more schooling.
JB (5,2) 1 Hanney-Mitchell. Bronia Solar Flare Very smart 13mth red, pleased for make & shape, is lovely to go over & well constructed throughout, liked her feminine head & expression, reachy neck & good topline, neat well filled front, good ribbing & quarters, moved soundly & freely, liked her a lot, a lovely prospect. 2 Stark. Adnerbs Not On Your Nellie Gobannium JW Another quality red of 15mths, who is soundly made throughout, has an attractive head with dark eye, reachy neck, well filled front, lengthy ribbing, good bone & neat feet, moved soundly with good rear drive, at present still needing to settle in topline, loved her outgoing temperament & showed well. 3 Hinwood. Longmel Cococabana
YB(2,1) 1 Hunt. Lauralee Joan Of Arc At Carpaccio This smart 15mth red, showing lots of promise, pleased for size & breed type, has a touch of elegance about her, she is very feminine in outlook & presents a lovely balanced outline, has good angulation fore & aft, long ribbing, short loin, good top & underline, good bone & feet, moved out soundly & freely. #
PGB (4,1) 1 Lauralee Joan Of Arc At Carpaccio 2 Heels. Daxanory Ravishing Minx Well presented 3yr red, most attractive head & pleasing expression, is nicely put together, good neck & front assembly, well sprung ribs, moved out smoothly keeping a good topline, would ideally like to see more ground clearance. 3 Valentine. Res CC Stylish 4yr red, super for type & pleasing to go over, liked her smooth flowing outline, elegant head & dark eye.She is soundly constructed & pleases in both fore & hind assembly, ribs are deep & go well back, good bone & neat feet.Strode out confidently with good head carriage, moving with freedom & drive.I see from the catalogue that she is the sister of my BCC & BOB, what a lovely litter. 2 Norton. Matzell Martinella Quality 3yr red out of a larger frame, with lots to like, has an attractive conical head, reachy neck & firm in topline, good angulation fore & aft, ribs are deep & well sprung, moved out with good reach & drive. 3 Macdonald. Adnerbs Take A ChanceIn Me At Raajput BCC, BOB & BIS Fabulous 4yr red of exceptional quality, had the pleasure of awarding her BIS @ The Southern Dachshund Association Ch Show earlier in the year.She is beautifully balanced, super in outline & I liked everything about her, is soundly constructed throughout & has a touch of elegance about her, with a beautiful head & expression, comes into her own on the move, so sound & parallel away & back, powers around the ring effortlessly, she carries herself so well with style & presence, delighted to learn that she went through to BIS.
VB (1) 1 Norton. Ch Matzell Minella. Best Veteran Quality red who looked really well for her 8yrs, presents an excellent outline & is lovely to go over. Liked her lovely feminine head, good neck & topline, has a well filledoval front, food depth & length of ribbing, moved out smartly using her well muscled quarters with good drive, shown in lovely coat & condition.
