I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge the Long Haired and Wire Haired Dachshunds at their 2023 show. The overall quality of both breeds was very good, and pleased to see my Longhaired BOB take group 4 in the Hound Group. Thank you to all exhibitors for your entries, and the sporting manner in which my placings were accepted. I would also like to thank my efficient steward Alan who kept the ring running smoothly. Long Haired Dachshunds Junior Dog 1 (0) 1 Frickers Sundayshill Theodore At Borzdac 13 month old shaded red dog. Conical head with correct proportions, lovely dark eye given a nice expression. Correct front assembly, with good angulation front and rear. Shown in good coat. Moved out well. Open Dog 2 (1) 1 Roberts Swansford Prestonador 2 year old shaded red dog, liked for size with a good height to length ration, correct shaped head with dark eye. Nice reach of neck leading into a well angulated front assembly, correct topline which was kept at all times, well angulated hind quarters. Well muscled and shown in good coat. Moved out well. BD, BOB and Hound Group 4 Junior Bitch 1 (1) Post Graduate Bitch 3 (1) 1 Burley & Way Swansford Almadora 2 year old shaded red bitch, feminine, lovely size with conical head, dark eye, and correct dentition, well angulated front and rear with prominent prosternum , good length of ribbing. Kept topline both stacked and on the move. Moved ok. 2 Foley Beauty Long at Clavennae 2 Year old silver dapple, larger type than 1 correct head shape, with good dentition lovely dark eye good reach of neck, preferred the topline of 1, moved ok. Open Bitch 3 (0) 1Buttler Tekalhaus Our Girl From Drymoor 3 year old shaded red bitch correct head proportions. Good length of neck, well angulated front with prominent prosternum. Tight feet, good topline both on the stack and on the move, well ribbed up and well muscled hind quarters. Moved well. BB 2 Roberts Swansford Aquadora 2 year old red bitch, smaller type than 1. Femine head of correct proportions, nice front assembly, well muscled, with good length of rib. 2 very nice bitches close call. RBB.
