Many thanks for a  really great entry. I rerally enjoyed my day with the breed that I hold so  close and love dearly. I think its fair to say the Longs presented to me gave  me an insight to how the variety represents itsekf today. The overall quality  was very good, especially in the males. It's good to see that now the  experiments with forigen blood has been done, breeders are getting back to  basics by coming back in an old fashioned established lines, and it seems to be  working. I really love the old type of Long Haired, infact it would be  difficult to name an ll time favorite but the blue print of the Albaney's and  off course Margaret's Swansfords are always fixed in my mind. Tow of the  greatest brrders who we all learned so much from. The old established breeders  that are still with us would easily be able to see why my BOB won under me,  winning his second 22, his first coming from the stablished Jeff Crawford. His  pedigree is very interesting and apart from his obvious qualities, he is the  stamp in type of the old typical Longs. His clever breeders certainly are using  the old line wisely. Ch Bronia Classic Legacy (by the great Conquistador) and 7  generations of Ch Swanford males, also sired my BP winner. So I had plenty of  choice, but my final decisions where based on old fashioned basics, type,  conformation and soundness. A few things that I was surprised about and  deffinately need watching, flared ribbing, has around half a dozen, I have  never found this a problem in our variety before, but need to keep an eye out  for this. Heads are getting better, the shape and strength of underjaw has  improved. Shoulders are also better. Feet in a lot of cases could be better.  None where too long in body and as usual no tyhin dogs in this variety. The  general hind construction was good, thought a few lacking in second thight and  a touch to long in hock, though very few are weak as usual presentation was of  the highest order. No dirty dogs and teeth lovely and clean. I think our  variety has some real quality one's and thank you for sharing them with me. MPD.  (4). 1. Dare and Guy's, Melminds Zatanic at Darsoms. BPB. 7 and a half months  old red. Still a raw baby. Full of promise. Good head, well arched neck. Tight  elbows. Very good body and ribbing. Short loins. Very good body and balanced  throughout. Another lovely type.  Shade longer than winner which I like but not quite the finish in body on the  day. Typical head, well arched neck and good shoulders. Firm topline. Sound  enough up and down. Dare's, Ch. Bronia Playgirl. My CC and BOB winner last time and  really pulls on my heart strings. She is a delightful bitch. So well made  throughout. Nothing has changed about her and neither has my opinion. If only  judging on construction she would have taken the lot, but on the day, althought  she looks still youthful her coat was left behind at home. A joy to see her  again. All these girls brough a smile to my face. A great class to finish with.  2. Mitchell's, Bronia Charisma at Imrika. This 8 year old s/red was so full of  life, so fit for function. Well made throughout and so spund. Still really  drives out from behind and puts on a great performance. Condition and  presentation faultless. 3. McNaughton's, Ch. Cedavoch Bewitched. A firm  favorite who disliked the floor. Otherwise could have changed a lot of on the  day results. A great shame but typical Dachshund.
