LONGHAIRED DACHSHUND
A great pleasure to judge here at
WEDA. As always a warm welcome and a well run show, and my two stewards helped
to make it a lovely day. Thank you to the exhibitors for their sportsmanship. My
general comments are positive insofar as presentation is good, temperaments are
all pleasing, one or two have close movement at the rear and there were some
curly coats that spoiled outlines. Joy of joys, the teeth were all clean and my
two challenge line ups were a delight. PD. (3,1). 1. Dare's, Darsoms Zyjack.
This dog is a masculine 10 month old shaded red. He has an excellent head full
of expression. A strong neck leading into well placed shoulders. Prominent
prosternum. Well sprung ribcage. Correct topline and good quarters. Exceptional
feet. 2. Duchesne's, Darsoms Zane of Scandell. I see they are littler brother
and it shows, very similar types. Shaded red, quality dog. Zyjack's feet gave
him the edge. JD. (5). 1. Johnson's, Africandawns Night Flash. A well presented
red dog. Handsome head. Correct forechest, ribcage and underline. Moved well
with enthusiasm. 2. Hagan and Brosuk's, What a Corker. A black and tan with
balanced outline. Good body, head and front. Level topline and a strong muscular
development. Would look better with a show of enthusiasm when moving. 3.
Holdsworth's, Abbalongdat Jack Frost at Potogold. PGD. (2). 1. Dare's,
Africandawns Night Kisses at Darsoms. RCC. Great feet. Classy black and tan with
a lively outline which is held at all times. Good construction which showed in
his excellent movement. He gave a good account of himself in the challenge. 2.
Burke and Manstons', Bonaviour Trade Secret. A nicely constructed dog with a
lovely head and expression. His outline was marred by his wavy coat. He moved
well and soundly. LD. (7,1). 1. Marks', Brynalyn Royal Warrier via Labbadax. A
rich chestnut red dog with no exaggerations. He is an eye catcher with ring
presence and a charmingly expressive head. Good shoulders. Strong body holding
topline and underline correctly. Moved well and soundly. In good condition with
strong muscles. One to watch. 2. Edwards and Pankhurst's, Marshwick Cloudy
Morning at Danward. Beautifully constructed dog whose glory is his movement,
which he does with accuracy and enthusiasm. I would have preferred better
markings in his silver dapple coat. 3. Johnson's, Africandawns Night Dancer. OD.
(5). 1. Mitchell's, Ch. Bronia Lotario. Shaded red dog of quality. Lovely head
and front construction leading onto a strong well covered body. Topline held all
through. Rear end leaves nothing to be desired. Powerhouse movement. Pleasure to
award the CC, well done. 2. Edwards and Pankhurst's, Marshwick Shades of Black
at Danward. B/t masculine dog in lovely condition. Sound going both ways and
held it together in profile to. Correct structural settings. A most pleasing
picture. 3. Marks', Lyrenstan Zaragoza at Labbadox. V. (2). 1. Ree's, Phaeland
North Light at Aquarelle. What an extrovert 7 year old shaded red in great
condition. Quality and sound. Really enjoyed himself. 2. Edwards and
Pankhurst's, Amber Nectar at Danwood. A clear red bitch. Cobbier than the winner
but in lovely condition. Went well both ways. Worthy bitch. PB. (3). 1. Dare's,
Darsoms Zeticia. BPIB and RBPIS. 9 and a half months old fabulous baby. Well
mature for her age and she is going to be an absolute beauty. Pretty head.
Beautiful shoulders. Great body held well throughout. Powerful quarters. Very
well trained which makes it so much easier to assess. 2. Geeson's, Abydachs
Summer Breeze. Another red. Slightly less mature than winner but has everything
to make a lovely adult. Lovely shoulder, hindquarters and coat. Will watch her
with interest. 3. Mitchell's, Bronia American Libery at Imirika. JB. (6). 1.
Dares's, Bronia Satinette from Darsoms. I'm fascinated by this bitches 'snooty'
expression, her superior view of the Dog Show world. I loved her classic lines,
easily the winner on the day of this class. Top class front assembly and a body
that is correct. Hindquarters are strong and she performed soundly and strongly.
2. Johnson's, Africandawns Night Dreamer. My tape says that first and second are
similar type and construction. This is another typy quality bitch. The
expression in the first carried the day. 3. Booth and Elsley's, Abbalongdat Ice
Queen. PGB. (6,1). 1. Mark's, Bronia Lunette with Labbadax. A red coated bitch.
Sweet head, balanced body. She slightly lost her topline on the move. Good size.
2. Eves', Dachalur Diamond Fancy Free at Sundayshill. A bit more rangy. Not the
turn of stifle I like but nevertheless a very nice bitch. 3. Fricker's, Seahaven
Aspiring Annie at Dachslur. LB. (6,1). 1. Garlick's, Ranglewood Genista. CC, BOB
and BIS. Well, she came, she saw and she conquered. What a lovely black and tan
bitch. She has a charming head, spotless mouth, elegant neck leading onto the
best of shoulders and fronts. Level topline and keel which sweeps back. Her
hindquarters are strong and the picture is completed by animated and accurate
movement. Third CC on the day, so congratulations on great presentation and
handling. 2. Mitchell's, Bronia Estee. Another beautiful b/t. A sound bitch of
quality. Very typy. Her construction leaves very little that is needed. Most
unlucky to meet Genista on the day. 3. Mitchell's, Bronia Classy Chassis. OB.
(4,1). 1. Dare's, Darsoms Zorana. Very nice quality bitch. Nicely balanced and
unexaggerated. Her shoulders and hindquarters are correct and she is a most
pleasing bitch. Movement is a lesson on the day in soundness. RCC. 2. Cross's,
Loggeta Ice Maiden. A very glamorous b/t bitch in lovely condition. Her coat
shone. She has well placed quarters, correctly muscled. Feminine. Top and
underline are correct. Quality bitch. 3. Booth and Elsley's, Ch. Abbalongdat Ms
Voulez Vous.
