LONG HAIRED
It is some years since I last judged the breed and on the whole I think there has been a considerable improvement. The majority of exhibits were a much better size, and none of them were obese, in fact some would have benefitted from carrying more weight. The most common failing was flat feet with weak pasterns, and overlong loins, which in Dachshunds could be a health concern. I was delighted to see my BOB go RBIS, and my BP go BPIS. There were a high number of absentees, I hope only due to the appalling weather. PD (3) 1 Geesons Abydachs Kicks Up A Storm. Shaded red with lovely head, elegant neck flowing into well laid shoulder. Correct front and well knuckled feet. Level topline, well angulated hind end. Moved freely. 2 Cook And Rhodes Abydachs Rides The Storm To Bournder. Litter brother to 1. Not the neck and shoulder of his brother. Thick well knuckled feet, Held topline on the move and moved freely. 3 Johnsons Africandawns Night Flash. JD (3,1) 1 Johnsons Africadawns Night Kisses. Black and tan of only 11 months. Head still need to mature. Lovely neck and front with well laid shoulder. Feet could be tighter. Super size and length. Short strong loin, with well angulated hind end. Moved freely. BPD. 2 Mitchells Ch. Bronia Lotario JW. Shaded red with lovely head, neck and front. Feet a little flat, and I would prefer a shorter loin. PGD (4,3) 1 Johnsons Africadawns Night Dancer. Shaded red with typical head, good reach of neck with well laid shoulder. Prominent sternum. Feet rather flat. Rather overlong in loin. Correct topline stood and on the move, and moved freely. L (6,1) 1 Dunbars Bronia Fernando Sh CM. Very elegant shaded red with long neck and well laid shoulder. Prominent sternum. Feet could be tighter. Well angulated hind end. Moved freely if a little close behind. 2 McNaughtons Cedavoch Kaballah. A heavier type. Masculine head. Excellent bone with very good construction. Moved freely. 3 Shields Abydachs A Night To Remember. OD (4,2) Two beautiful exhibits. 1 Geesons Ch. Abydachs Oh What A Night JW. Ideal size, not too big or overly long. Super head. Correct front with prominent sternum. Feet could be a little tighter. Well bodied with a short strong loin. Well angulated hind end, and moved very freely. DCC & BOB. 2 Mitchells Bronia Classic Legacy. Larger made dog. Super head with lovely neck and prominent sternum. Longer in body and loin than 1. Well angulated hind end. Unlike most of the exhibits here I felt he would benefit from carrying a bit more weight over his ribs. res.D.C.C. MPB (3,1) 1 Geesons Abydachs Summer Breeze BBP & BP, and 2 Paskins Abydachs Summer Dream At Kindeace. Two fabulous puppies, beautiful heads, long necks and well laid shoulders. Prominent sternums , with elbows tight to ribs. Loins shorter than most. Correctly angulated hind ends. Both need to strengthen behind, this will come when they are old enough for more road work. Super toplines stood and on the move. These two will change places many times I'm sure, particularly if the handler of the 2nd takes a large dose of Kalms when they get to the show. PB (2,1) 1 Johnsons Africadawns Night Fire. Litter sister to BDP. Lovely type and size. Super head. Not quite the front of her brother. Well bodied, with correctly angulated hind end. Super topline, moved out well. JB (3,2) 1 Dunbar And Mcnaughtons Bronia Velveteen. Black and tan with super head and neck. Prominent sternum. Well sprung ribs. Correctly angulated hind end which provided free movement with driving parallel hocks. Elbows need to tighten at present, as do feet. SP YB (2,1) 1 Mitchells Bronia Estee. Black and tan with super neck and prominent sternum. Well sprung ribs. Tight well padded feet. Correctly angulated hind end, and moved well. PGB (3,1) 1 Johnsons Africadawns Night Boogie To Liric. Larger red, with super head, neck shoulders and sternum. Feet could be tighter, and overlong in loin. Moved out very well. 2 Kermodes Metadale Make Your Mind Up. Smaller type. Not the front of 1, but well knuckled feet. Good body with short loin. Rather over-awed by it all. LB (5,2) 1 Garlicks Ranglewood Genista. Beautiful femenine black and tan with gorgeous head, neck and front with prominent sternum. Would like tighter feet. Super topline stood and on the move. Moved well with parallel driving hocks. Res B.C.C. 2 McNaughtons Cedavoch Sorceress. Larger bitch, not quitre as elegant as 1, but much to like. When stood didn't have the parallel hocks of 1, which may be down to the floor. This didn't stop her moving out with freedom and drive. 3 Mitchells Bronia Classy Chassis At Imirika. OB (8,4) 1 Mcnaughtons Cedavoch Mystique. Beautiful head, neck and front with prominent sternum. Well knuckled feet with strong pasterns, a rarity today. Well bodied, with elbows tight to ribs. Correctly angulated hind end with parallel hocks. Moved with drive. B.C.C. 2 Mitchells Ch. Bronia Enchantress JW Eyecatching, femenine red bitch. Long neck with prominent sternum. Well knuckled feet. Moved really well. Elbows not as tight as 1.
