Great Joint Dachshund Ass 2004

LONG HAIRED

It has been a long time since I judged the Longs and I found myself finding it a harder task to keep to a type, when previously I’ve been privileged to go over some lovely exhibits in strongly contested classes right down the line For one reason or another over the past few yrs we have lost some v clever breeder /exhibitors but surely there is still enough expertise and some caring talented youngsters to take up the challenge and aim to put things on a better footing. Fronts were variable, short ribbing; hindquarters poor, with long second thighs and high at the hock giving restricted movement with no drive Size needs to be watched. On the plus side presentation was good and my principle winners really pleased me and would hold their own in any company. DOGS: MP (3). 1 Hobson’s Midnight Caracao from Ranglewood. 7 mths nice to go over just overawed with the occasion and reluctant to move with any verve; 2 Cooper and Steadmam’s Blue Velvet by Merrygarth. Another nice baby but this time giving his handler a hard time so hard to access. Both youngsters still needing time to give of their best. P (7). 1 Jordan and Nightingales’ Rodima Kirhan. 11 mths Red in good coat. Masculine Head good balanced angles ,keel and ribbing Moved out well with plenty of drive; 2 Burke and Manston’s Henry Hoover at Bonavoir. Quality shaded red. Nice head and expression again with good balanced angles and keel and ribbing, Whilst I liked his size better than 1 he was not as positive in movement, but both nice youngsters who could change places on another day . Both handled v well. J (6). 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Monte Crista. Quality Shaded Red. Masculine Head Good reach of neck lovely shoulders and front prominent fore chest depth of keel would like more length to the ribcage kept a good top line and moved out well; 2 Raine’s Dorysa All About Alfie at Regendachs. Nice coat. Good Head and expression nice to go over but did not make the most of himself on the move. PG (6). 1 Negus’s Shardaroba Rigel by Tarramist.
