Lancashire & Cheshire Dachshund Ass 2002

Dachshund (Long Haired)

Judge : Debbie Brettel

I was looking for a smooth with a coat - the breed standard is the same wording for all our varieties apart from coat type and size. Presentation and handling was very good throughout. I found a couple of bad mouths which surprised me.

PD (2) 1 Liddle’s Morali Bowmore. 2 Liddle’s Morali Springbank. Litter brothers with lovely temperaments. Preferred the height to length ratio of the winner, having longer ribbing and shorter loin and he also moved out better. Both have good masculine heads, plenty of bone and really good feet. Well constructed throughout. Two very nice quality and promising puppies. Nicely presented and handled. Hope you do well with them. In the challenge for Best Puppy Bowmore was a bit unlucky to have tough opposition from an outstanding young bitch. Think he will mature into a very nice dog.

pg (4) Three different types in this class. 1 Warren’s Metadale Monte Carlo. I have judged him before, gave him a BP and I still like him. Handsome red dog, he has matured well. Good head and expression, wonderful shoulder placement, good length of ribbing and firm hindquarters. Super outline both standing and on the move and he is a nice size. Coat was excellent. Best mover in the class. Beautifully presented and handled. 2 Gore’s Frankanwen Frascati for Georgessa Handsome B&T bigger and very masculine. Nicely constructed with heavy bone and good feet, was a little reluctant on the move. 3 Smith’s Rodima Reach For Gold

L (2) 1 & RBD Strachan’s Calderpark Limited Edition. Lovely handsome red boy, has quality, good breed type and is well balanced. Really good head, eye and expression. Good front and shoulders. Plenty of bone. Super size and looked like he could do a day’s work. Good length of ribbing and short strong loin. Super hindquarters that he used to drive around the ring. Beautifully presented and handled. Good luck with him. Liked him a lot 2 O’Neills Donnadach Black Magic. Taller type but very handsome B&T dog. Very well constructed throughout and moved well. O

D (3) 1 & BOB Atkin’s Ch Kantis Komanchee Very handsome and honest B&T boy, who is beautifully constructed throughout. Nothing exaggerated and every inch a champion dachshund. Masculine head with strong muzzle and jaw, good length of neck running into excellent shoulders. Prominent breastbone and nice oval front. Long ribbing and a short strong loin, very sound hindquarters. Excellent bone and feet. Kept his topline both standing and on the move. Sound mover who showed the youngsters how to do it! Wonderful temperament. Beautifully handled and well coated, in lovely condition. Delighted to award him a very well deserved Best of Breed, but he had tough opposition from a beautiful bitch. 2 Chapman’s Witchespell War Lord Another very good dog that I have judged before. Such a showman, handled and presented to perfection. Good height to length ratio. He has very flowing movement and great ring presence. Different type to the winner but I like him a lot. Just prefer the heavier bone, shoulders and stronger head of the winner.

PB (4) A really lovely class and the two litter sisters of the puppy dogs appeared. 1 Liddle’s Morali Kinlaith Really nice little bitch,. Sweet head and expression, Balanced and well constructed throughout, very nicely presented and handled This is a very nice litter, they have quality and good breed type. They all need time but think you will do well with them. 2 Plevin’s Morali Caol Ila. A little longer and rangier than her sister and wasn’t moving so well. But nevertheless a really nice puppy. Well done to the breeder. 3Chapman’s Melminds Melly Mel.

PGB (4) Super class. Found a real star in the making here. 1 BP, BB & BPIS Mitchell’s Darsoms Zophisticate of Bronia. Really fabulous puppy, loved her. Excellent head, prominent breastbone. Superb shoulders. Wonderful length of ribbing and short strong loin. Excellent turn of stifle and already has firm hindquarters which she used to power around the ring. Is teeming with breed type, quality, personality and showmanship. Not really surprising as she is by Conquistador and Zwagerbabe. Handled and shown to perfection. Would love to see her when she is fully matured and am sure she will gain her title with ease. Was delighted to see her go Best Puppy in Show. Congratulations. 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Rock N Roll Dream A lovely bitch I judged as a pup. She has turned out beautifully. Has a well balanced outline and is soundly constructed throughout. A slightly taller type than the winner. Excellent bone and feet. Moved very well indeed and was unlucky to meet the winner. 3 Cunningham’s Frankenwen Merlot for Georgessa .

LB (5) 1 Warren’s Ingeborg Danketina. Nice to see this bitch again, she is a lovely girl of good size. Beautifully balanced with nothing exaggerated. Prominent breastbone, good shoulders. Excellent length of ribbing and short strong loin. Moved with drive, keeping her outline at all times. Beautifully presented and handled. 2 Jordan’s Ranglewood Veronica at Rodima Lovely head and eye, a taller and rangier type than the winner. Good length of ribbing and short strong loin. In good coat and condition. Preferred the movement and overall balance of the winner. 3Donnadach Eclipse

OB (3). Super class of top quality bitches 1 & RBB Geeson’s Ch Abydachs Give Me the Future. Really lovely, glamorous B&T bitch and every inch a champion. Shown in beautiful condition with good feathering. Beautifully constructed throughout typified by her free flowing movement. Think she is quite superb. Was very unlucky to meet the gorgeous puppy on the day. 2 Atkin’s Kantis Koko Chanel. Another gorgeous bitch who is beautifully constructed, nothing to criticise. Little to choose between these two except that Koko was a little more lethargic on the move. 3 Plevin’s Witchespell Merlinella
