Thanks to the club for this my first Dachshund breed club invitation. My hard working steward Amy Callow kept everything running smoothly for me which added to the pleasure of the day. Pleased all exhibits had correct dentition. Some muscle tone was lacking, less shows approaching so time to get your dogs exercised & fit.
V D/B 1 entry (abs)
MPD 1 entry (abs)
PD & JD no entries
YD 1 1st Heels - Daxanory Menacing Awesome, approaching 2 yrs & in fit condition. Conical shaped head with dark eyes, his ears are correctly high placed & broad, long slightly arched neck leading to strong shoulders. Well placed short strong front legs with desired daylight under body. Good heart & lung room. Strong level topline with a typical bold head carriage moving out with purpose & width, just exuberant with his tail which spoilt side profile a tad.
PGD 2 1st Hinwood – Longmel Courvoisier Truffle, this unexaggerated Red, so easy on the eye just turned 2 appealed greatly with superb angles both ends giving him balance, with a full muscled rump, croup & solid upper thigh of good length, the more he moved the better he got. I liked his masculine slightly arched skull having equal skull to muzzle ratio with dark almond shaped eyes. Super clean neck blending well into the best of fronts having decent length of upperarm and a strong breastbone with depressions evident & front legs neatly fitting around. His underline is textbook having good length of sternum, his withers & rear quarters are equal in height, he stands evenly on well arched toed feet having short nails & thick pads. Pleased to award him BD, BOB & BIS. Well done. 2nd Wyeth - Rayol Texas Rangers a lot to like about this 26mnth dense coated Red, very balanced outline, liked his slight arched muzzle not quite as dark in eye as 1st but still acceptable. I thought his ears moderately long, broad & well set. Beautiful strong forelegs -well boned & supporting his chest with the best shaped feet. He stood out for his parallel movement with desired width fore & aft & a correctly held tail moving, just marginally lacked the length of stride of 1st.
LD no entries
OD 1, 1st Starkey – Carpaccio Magnum Pi At Hamoura, this B/T has a gleaming smooth supple coat & skin. Very masculine all through, super balanced head free from stop with medium sized eyes. Strong jaw with neat lips he has adequate length of neck being free from dewlap. Desired ground clearance to this 4yr old. He has correct gradual underline, carries himself well on a good stride & stands 4 square.
MPB no entries.
PB 1 1st Hinwood – Longmel Christmas Truffle very pretty 9mnth Red who actually performed very well at I believe her first show. Would prefer a more almond shape to her eyes to soften her expression, her head is conical in shape set on a long clean beautifully arched neck proudly carried. Neat elbows & good length of ribs, strong topline to a slight slope of croup so tail not rising above. Little down on pasterns but has time to improve. Fluent mover once she got going. RBPIS.
JB 1,1abs
YB 2,1. 1st Heels – Daxanory Ravishing Rose, litter mate to YD she has a super dense Red coat & appealed in front view having well boned limbs with width in chest, plenty of organ room with robust ribbing, Keel covered by forelegs on side profile. She has balanced angles both ends & she is strong hock to ground, with the best rear arched close toes. A tad unsettled, although pleasing footfall away & back.
PGB 1 abs
LB 5,3. 1st Tomlinson – Melisdax Memories of May, 3 yr feminine from head to toe, B/T in lovely condition. Good slope of head to slight arched muzzle, ear set slightly low but correct size & rounded. Expressive dark eyes. She has good broad strong shoulders & breastbone. Neat elbows allowing free movement with adequate width front, back, level topline & pleasing tail carriage on side profile. 2nd Roberts & Smith – Craimose Aguilegia For Rayol, another pretty B/T who was spot on for height /length ratio being compact in body. Happy disposition with beautiful medium almond shaped eyes. She has a good length of upperarm & super deep feet. Really split hairs with these two & it came down to strength in topline of 1st.
OB 3,2. 1st Norton – Matzell Martinella, 6yr Red in her prime, just showing a little grey around muzzle, she has a well-proportioned head of classic shape with strong jaw which really appealed. With a long neck leading to the best of shoulders with such prominent breastbone giving evident depression either side. She has a gradual merge of underline, plenty of ribbing with strong loin leading to strong upper & muscular lower thighs producing a good striding free easy parallel movement. BB & BOS. 2nd Tomlinson - Melisdax Magnolia in May, litter sister to my LB winner. Pretty Red that scores having compact body & correct height at withers being half the body length. She again has good breastbone but not the angulation of shoulder as 1st & a tad shorter in neck. She has robust ribbing with a short strong loin, stands true on correctly shaped feet & is presented in beautiful condition.
Terry Thorn Tribute A.V Open Stakes D/B 7,2 1st Cato – Jenivons Alexandra of Earldax, what a cracking 19 mnth mini Male, B/T in gleaming condition with the shortest trimmed nails of the day. Ultra dark eyes, high set ears, his front legs are well boned, neatly fits his chest & covers his keel well. Nice to see a muscled rear, parallel hocks having required width from hips. Great carriage moving with ease. 2nd Starkey - Carpaccio Pi at Hamoura (my OD winner). 3rd Tomlinson - Magnolia in May. 4th Gittins - Boomerloos Robin. VHC Holmes - Debianddaxies Derry Girl.
Members A.V Puppy stakes D/B, 2, 1st Bosworth - Bronia Solange at Louromi, miniature 11 months & really caught my eye, my hands flowed over her, super front & matching rear angulation giving such balance, cobby body her ribs are well back, strong in bone, close toes with decent padding. Moves on a good stride with attitude, pleased to award her BPIS hope she has a bright future ahead. 2nd Gittins- Kalhoun Tiger Princess at Boomerloo, brindle miniature same age as 1st. super head proportions, front on view she has beautifully placed legs, she is long necked, firm in topline & correct gradual merge of underline with good ground clearance. Her tail is of correct length not resting on the ground & its kink free, not as straight rear movement on the away as 1.
Members A.V Open Stakes D/B 4,1. 1st Herald -Winterfield Lady in Red. This miniature has just turned 2, She is so pretty with a balanced head on a long clean neck, best of fronts having a strong prominent breast bone, strong limbs with well arched full feet, she has adequate daylight under her robust rib cage, topped off with a dense smooth coat. Good driving stride from her strongly made rear. 2nd Tomlinson - Melisdax Memories of May (my LB winner). 3rd Starkey – Carpaccio Magnum Pi at Hamoura.
RBIS –
Tite - Rijobeau Well I Never, Quality B/T miniature of correct size & condition, masculine youngster of 14mnths. Excellent balanced body with required ground clearance, easy mover who held himself well, absolutely splitting hairs - in the end muzzle length & marginally more prominent breastbone on the Standard had the edge.
BVIS
Phillips – Stargang High Hopes of Robinswood VW, oh my goodness this 11yr old Red miniature belies his years. Sound positive footfall who equally impressed in side profile, love his proudly held long head being gently sloping to his nose & still having full dentition, super equal angulation both ends, presented in top condition, credit to his owner absolute pleasure to award him BVIS.
