I would like to thank the committee of WEDA for inviting me to judge Best in Show along with all varieties of miniature dachshund. This was a very well run show and I hope the exhibitors enjoyed it as much as I did.
Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show - Dare's Larkhund Blank Panther Darsoms - this black and tan dog standard long fulfilled all expectations and is certainly one to be proud of. Excellent head, long arched neck into well laid back shoulders. Good ribbing, excellent quarters and front. Level topline held on the move and in gleaming condition, which completed the picture.
Reserve Best in Show - Paget and Carroll's Lauralee Oscar Wilde at Marvale - standard smooth, masculine head, almond eye, long neck, ribbing well back, sound to and fro and strode out well.
Reserve Best Puppy in Show - Adam's Teckelgarth Gatling JW - standard wire, strong conical head, correct harsh coat, strong topline, good ribbing, well angulated front and rear and moved with drive.
Best Veteran in Show - Starkey's Carpaccio Jasper from Hamoura ShCM - Strong masculine head, nice length of neck into well laid back shoulders, good ribbing and movement true.
