Class 2457 VB NO ENTRIES
Great ring for min dachsie with possibly the best grass rings at any show in the UK. A breed I've owned and exhibited in the distant past and I guess there's always a struggle to have depth of quality in males and whilst I regret at times being a little harsh in my critique I do feel that breeders must address some worrying faults that should be addressed as a priority. The breeds name miniature Wire Haired dachshunds gives a big clue to the essential coat which is so lacking in too many exhibits, so too are short rib cages and long loins which constitutes a fault that weakens the spine and therefore can have health implications. Finally weak characters should be avoided from any serious breeding programme, nervous dogs are unsuitable  for the show ring and even less suitable as pets!

PD 1 Aincroft Over The Moon Drakesleat. Quality youngster with a very nice outline. Conical head, long neck well angulated front assembly, standing on parallel hocks. Would like a longer rib cage and a better coat texture. Moved very soundly, good in profile and on the 'out and back'. 2 Fallowmill Storm In A Tcup. Super coated, prominent forechest. Well ribbed with super bone and strong well padded feet. Well rounded quarters with strong muscle. Good drive on the move but needs to settle in front. 3 Lordscairnie Love God.

JD 1 Waldmeister Aldo. Smart, super coated with excellent head and expression. Very nice front assembly. Good rib cage and strong loin. Little over angulated in the rear. Sound, maintaining excellent profile on the move. 2 Foxearth Filharmonic. Another super head and expression with correct eye shape and colour. Prominent forechest, shoulders a little straight. Could have a little longer rib cage. Character could be touch stronger. Eye catching profile movement. 3 Aincroft Oh Contraire.

PGD Shocking class for a variety of reasons the exhibits failed to impress. 1 Dajean Starstruck. Nice type and outline and is sound on the move but has very straight shoulders. Lacks forechest. Coat could be better texture. Too short in rib and therefore too long in loin. Super head. Weak character. 2 Granhoward Edward. Very nice head and expression. Straight shoulder. Topline could be stronger. Lacks strength and drive in the rear through insufficient angulation. Poor coat. 3 Fallowmill Cambera.

LD 1 Russteck Wire In The Blood. The winner has an excellent shoulder, upper arm, legs and feet. Sufficient forechest. Super coat. Good head. Little short in rib. Little overangulated in rear, but has really strong workmanlike movement which gave him the edge to win the class. 2 Taree Useless Loop. Love the type of this male with an outline that I really admired. Little straight in shoulder and too short in upper arm. Would like a longer ribcage and more enthusiasm on the move.

OD 1 Ch Bimini Starstruck. Smart brindle with a classic outline, closer examination reveals an excellent head and expression, good neck, shoulder and upper arm. Sufficient forechest. Has a 'rare' long rib cage and corresponding short strong loin. Strong quarters with parallel hocks. On the move is very sound on the out and back and has excellent carriage and outline in profile, just one negative comment and that is that the handler just needs to be a bit more assertive, this is a super quality dachshund, highly competitive and therefore could perhaps be shown with a touch more confidence. Well deserved CC. 2 Ch Ridanflight Ricardo. Close up. Love his head and expression and his super coat texture. Prominent forechest, classic outline. A touch long in loin. A really super dog that gave the winner a strong challenge. Res CC. 3 Ch Foxearth Fiddler On The Roof.

MPB 1 Emem Astral Traveller. Stunning 6 month puppy with all the essentials for a bright future, superb head and expression. Fat little body with big ribs and a big fat arse!!! Wonderful character. Standing on short parallel hocks. Well made front assembly with sufficient forechest. On the move super sound maintaining excellent topline and a super side gait. 2 Granhoward Ethel. Stunning head and top quality coat. Good forechest. Strong well angulated rear. Moved very soundly although her topline just needs to settle a little. Super prospect and close up to the winner. 3 Drakesleat Midas Touch Over Pellismer.

PB Lovely class, the 1st three of particularly high quality. 1 Emem Gloria Sunshine. Sister of the lovely winner of MPB and who could imagine that anyone could breed another not just as good but even better!! I loved her and thought her reminiscent of some of the outstanding bitches of the past when the breed was quite frankly in better shape than in recent times. Such a beautiful body, with a strong solid topline, excellent angles both in front and behind. Super quality coat with a gorgeous head and expression. True dachsie character which isn't easy to find with so many nervous exhibits currently being shown. Outstanding on the move in all directions...although she absolutely captivated me I did not let my heart rule my head, she did infact beat allcomers through her outstanding type and quality. Best puppy CC and BOB. 2 Bassodon Dodecamedron. Love this super coated and headed puppy. Lovely construction throughout. Sound just needs to open up a little more in side gait. 3 Russteck Nicely Nicely For Ravenbeech.

JB 2 very nice quality youngsters. 1 Stargang Catch The Rainbow. Red bitch with a fabulous outline and super construction. Long lean conical head with a super eye and expression. Strong topline and excellent tailset. Beautifully made throughout and standing on strong quarters with short parallel hocks. Straight front limbs and well padded feet. Jacket is excellent . Moving very soundly with excellent profile holding her outline. Super youngster res CC later informed her 1st ever show, great start. 2 Helydon Jinglebells. Very nice brindle with very nice headpiece and again a sweet expression. Good coat texture. Excellent proportions. Was really close up to the winner but today a touch over exuberant and as a result was a touch lifty with her tail just detracting a little from her otherwise lovely outline.

PGB 1 Penny Wave Uptown Girl. Small neat little package with lots to love about her. well made with super front assembly and excellent forechest. Strong topline, nice straight front legs. Her backskull ears and eyes are all super would just prefer a stronger foreface to balance an otherwise lovely head. Very sound on the move. A really super little showgirl. 2 Lordscairnie Posh Love. Right out of coat otherwise a super bitch with a classic outline. Excellent rear assembly. Front is good with a long upper arm and pronounced forechest. Nice head. Very sound. 3 Ubu Kahlo To Heleanne.

LB Good class of quality. 1 Pennywave Top Totti. What a stunning outline, closer examination reveals a lovely head and expression with a nice eye shape and colour.  Sufficient ground clearance and so sound and stylish on the move which gave her the edge in this hotly contested class. 2 Lordscairnie Life Of Love. Really nice quality, feminine with super construction and a lovely front assembly. Nice proportions. Standing on well boned legs and feet. Strong topline. Good ribbing. Very sound. 3 Fallowmill Top Of The Class.

OB 1 Ch Drakesleat Stitch In Time. Nice quality bitch who scored in her very lovely outline, which she maintained on the move and combined with excellent movement particularly in profile impressed sufficiently to have the edge in this class of quality bitches. Nice head shape, with good front and rear assemblies and sufficient length of rib. Poor quality coat prevented her progressing further in the bitch challenge. 2 Russteck So Fair A Dream. Standing this bitch is a picture and my first impression was that she would be the easy winner in the class, gorgeous outline, superb front with prominent forechest. Strong well rounded rear, good topline and underline. Super bone and feet. beautifully tailored jacket of excellent texture. Unfortunately she lacked enthusiasm and sufficient drive on the move which cost her the class. 3 Drakesleat Prim N Proper For Arnscroft.
