I again enjoyed judging this lovely variety and thank the exhibitors for the entries. There were no concerns regarding body condition, apart from it is my opinion that some hounds would benefit from better muscle tone. Generally temperaments were good and it was great to see this was evident in the majority of the puppies. My main concern would be forward placed and steeply angled shoulders, resulting in a restricted gait. I was looking for a well- balanced and typical Dachshund in miniature, with sound movement. As always I endeavoured to judge holistically against the standard and avoid fault judging as there are no perfect specimens in any breed.

MPD – 2 Entries

1st- Howell, Fallowmill Sydney

Loved this high quality baby with his super attitude and temperament so I forgave he was proud of his correctly set tail, well balanced with sound construction, harsh coat, well ribbed back, short coupled, quality bone into strong feet, moved soundly and accurately with sufficient ground clearance, may he continue to enjoy himself, BEST PUPPY.

2nd – Hayward & Howell, Fallowmill Camberra

Another lovely puppy but not so developed and outgoing as the first, good harsh jacket, good length and depth to ribbing giving correct underline, once settled moved sufficiently well.

PD – 2 Entries

1st – Kugow & Holt, Waldmeister Darby

Lovely head piece set on long neck into well placed shoulders, nicely balanced, strong topline, good ribbing, good ground clearance allowing to move with great freedom in profile.

Another good puppy with harsh coat, well angulated through the quarters, stands on tight feet, once settled and with maturity should develop well.
